Not our best trip

The beach was small and the previous bad weather caused tons of seaweed so the pool was really the only option and it was a small pool. The only up side was the friendly staff, and that everything was in a good walking distance. Stayed at Iberostar before and it was wonderful.

Horrible trip, room was wrong, services were not as expected from previous trips, flight delayed for hours then finally canceled. Held captive in airport for hours with no wifi or ability to contact family and the Frontier airline employees were the rudist I have encounyered. Hotel frontier put us up in has no emenities. Frontier really cheap with food vouchers.

Wow, where can I start? When we arrived we upgraded to the VIP ocean front room for $1500 extra dollars for four nights. That was fine but when we got to the room it was very small. $6500 for four nights is not worth it by any means. The first night we were very tired from traveling and we wanted to sleep. There was loud music coming from the beach. I went down thinking it was a disco. I arrived to party and every one was very drunk. I got sexually assaulted by a man and told him forcefully never to touch me again. I was on a phone call to my wife when a group of security guards came up to me. They physically pushed me out. I wasn't drunk I was just standing there. As you might imagine I was very upset. I talked to the general manager the next day and he didn't care at all I was assaulted because it turns out it was a wedding party and they didn't mind having an unhappy VIP guest because he went on to tell me how many rooms that party had booked. I felt sick and disgusted. The pool at the resort is small and shallow. There are no activities so we went out every day and night. The bar staff is unfriendly and there are only those restaurants on the whole resort. The only thing good about this place is the location but the Royal Playa Del Carman is better and they treat everyone with love and respect. They were booked so we tried this place. NEVER AGAIN! Also, when we left there was $1000 added to our room. I still don't know what for but we were in a hurry to leave so they did explain. Do yourself a favor and NEVER GO THERE. Even the general manager is rude so no wonder that his staff is terrible.

Hotel Description

Playacar Palace: Playa del Carmen Beach, Cozumel Sights and 5th Avenue Shopping

Head to Playacar Palace in Playa del Carmen for the royal treatment. Located in the heart of the Riviera Maya, the modern ease of this Mexican-Caribbean resort draws in guests with its immaculate beachfront location and proximity to Cozumel (the ferry terminal is right through an adjacent shopping center) and the mile-long promenade of shopping, dining and nightlife of 5th Avenue. For a restful beach atmosphere with a touch of local culture, retreat to Playacar Palace.

Playa del Carmen is home to truly gorgeous beaches, and the mile-long stretch outside the resort is the perfect place to spend your day soaking up some Vitamin D. When you achieve that perfect shade of bronze, cool off with a dip in the free-form, oceanfront pool. Need a drink? No worries because you can splash over to the swim-up bar for a margarita while the kids splash around the shallow children's section. When your stomach starts growling, stop by one of the resort's three delicious restaurants like Terraza for wickedly creamy fettuccine alfredo, or Chef Jaime Bazan's fresh toro nigiri at Mo-Mo-No-Ha-Na. Families also enjoy the theme parties and nightly entertainment, while sports fans head to Luna Lounge to keep score over a cold cerveza.

Need an alternative to lazy days by the water? Hop on a shuttle and enjoy the complimentary water sports, volleyball and giant chessboards at sister resort, Moon Palace. With plenty of supervised activities to keep the little ones busy, you and your sweetie can have a little alone time to soak up the sun and enjoy the many luxuries Playacar Palace has to offer.

Environmental Levy Fee
The Municipalidad of Solidaridad in the Rivera Maya is one of the most beautiful places in the Mexican Caribbean. Tourism has been instrumental in driving the economic and social development of the region. In an effort to continue to preserve, conserve and beautify the destination, the Municipality of Solidaridad has implemented a small environmental levy on visitors effective September 1, 2017. Hotels will collect 20 Mexican pesos per room per day on check out; the proceeds will be deposited in an environmental trust to fund local projects. The Municipalidad of Solidaridad thanks you for your understanding and support of this worthwhile endeavor. Thank you and enjoy your visit.
