Quiet resort.
I went for my brothers 30th birthday with a bunch of our family/friends. The pool life was not very entertaining. They had low music playing on the speakers they randomly had throughout the resort. I wish they had a DJ and more interactive pool activities. When I asked why don’t they play music or have a DJ they didn’t have a response. The suites are nice, but the jacuzzi and bath tub stopper were not the easiest to figure out because they would often be unscrewed. Food overall was really good - make sure to do reservations. Staff overall were nice and helpful there were a few when you would ask for something they wouldn’t respond in the nicest way. We overall had a good time because of who we all are, but I would not go back.
I am highly impressed with how beautiful and elegant this place is. From the moment you step onto the resort and go in the main lobby, you are met with the beautiful aroma of fresh flowers. In fact, every bar you enter has aromas when you walk in. From the marble floors, to the elegant and unique decor, to the beautiful grounds, this is truly paradise.
We went with another couple and got the one bedroom swim up suites. I never want to travel to any resort again without a swim up suite. The moment we got let in our room, our jaws dropped. This is hands down the nicest room we have ever stayed in. Marble floors, mirrors everywhere, granite countertops, tons of closets, huge bathroom, and the best part is the back porch with stairs to go down to the pool. The swim up suites made our entire trip. I cannot brag enough about them. We were right across from the main bar and you can swim all the way to the pool bar. But we didn't even need to leave our little area because we had the most amazing, attentive and courteous poolside bartender there. I highly recommend Adolfo for making our stay easy and effortless. He took care of us our entire trip. From the moment we woke up and came out to the pool. We never ran out of a drink and if we needed food, he got it. He even went above and beyond to go and get sandwich bread from a restaurant so the bar cook could make me grilled cheese. That wasn't even on the menu, but something I was craving. I give him and this place 5 stars. Antonio also deserves some recognition for helping as well.
The beach area was beautiful. Found my favorite drink at the beach bar. Right behind it was this cute little area with hanging chairs and tables. Was perfect for pictures.
There was also tons of restaurants and bars to choose from. Our favorite was the hibachi place and the Brazilian steakhouse place that will just keep bringing meat until you stop them. They cut it right there in front of you. This place was the coolest experience I ever had. Every place was so nice and elegant and the decor was so unique. But do note that you need reservations at every restaurant to get in before 8pm.
I cannot wait to come back. We have a huge crew that we want to come back with and all have the swim up suites. They saw our pictures and videos and just fell in love like we did. It's funny because a gentleman we met a couple doors down, comes every year and books these suites with his friends.
I found this place on cheap carribean and the reviews and pictures are what made my decision. This place was cheaper through this website than other competitor websites. I thought the resort was worth way more than we paid. Knowing I can afford coming here, will have me coming back every year.

A true paradise from start to finish! Really hated for it to end. So many things to do and yet the ultimate rest and relaxation all day long.
Service and options for dinner and drinks were great. Especially liked the Jacuzzi on the terrace and the turn down service.
First off I’d like to say an awesome deal. I read a lot of reviews before picking this place this place is also recommended to me. The beaches had no seaweed no rocks soft white sand gorgeous. The food was five star presentation taste everything was amazing. The ambience was a spa like retreat upscale. The pool was fun Aldorfo and Antonio on it all day ...top notch alcohol.. I cannot say enough for the amazing service we got from everybody that worked there and a special shout out to EVa for our breakfast daily .. they were the absolute highlight of our trip I never felt so pampered. No heavy sales pitch we did listen to something that we declined and got a free Couple massage and enjoyed the spa
Place was top notch 5 star

Which rooms have the fish tank behind the bed? All 7 of the room types you have available do not seem to offer the fish tank.
7 years, 93 months ago
Heather
Rooms are assigned directly by the resort upon arrival. It would be their discrection as to what guests receive the rooms with the fish tank. Unfortunately, CheapCaribbean.com is unable to guarantee that room would be received.
MariaCC
It's not a real fish tank..It's a painting or something but it's still nice...
Spyrogirl2
Many of the rooms have a PICTURE of a fish tank. It is cool but do not be fooled it is not real!
Ashlee1030
no fish tank in any room is an acrylic photo, i also think it was a tank but no
kaory
We were in a normal Garden View room and it is not a fish tank, just a lighted wall that looks like one. No real fish or water. Just a glass with some design and a light behind.
alexg82
I booked the standard room offered on Cheap Caribbean (I think it was called the Junior Luxury Suite), ended up getting mysteriously upgraded to a royal service room which had the fish tank but it wasn't real. It was just an illuminated image of an aquarium (that you can turn on and off with a light switch). It was cool but half the time we didn't even have it turned on. Definitely didn't make or break the room.
DCRN
On the La Perla side it would be the royal rooms. They are very nice.
Rebbecca
No room has a fish tank its wall paper. I had a fight with the front desk over my room because they sold and confirmed me a swim up room and then when I arrived to check in they had no more rooms available. They upgraded me to a better room so no complaints, its a great resort you will enjoy it.
Yanks
They are not fish tanks... they are photos of fish on plexi glass with lights behind them.
MissMary0315
The "fish tank" is a picture. There are no fish tanks (that I know of). It's lit up and still pretty. You can tell everyone it's a tank. Pictures don't move and it looks real.
ajriii
There is not a real fish tank behind the bed. It is a lighted photograph of a fish tank. Sounds kind of cheesy, buti it's cool. Can you imange how they could maintain actual fish tanks in that many rooms?

Yes, you are better off negotiating the upgrade when you get there. We upgraded to Royal Service and loved it.

Yes you can upgrade at check in if rooms are available
VacationRobin
Yep, they'll offer it to you with a coupon when you arrive. You have a day to choose to upgrade.

What are the dining restrictions? Are there king size beds? Will We be bothered by Timeshare pitches11 answers
6 years, 81 months ago
US
Some restaurant restrictions may apply. Some rooms offer king beds while other offer 2 queens. For more information please contact the resort directly.
CaitlinCC
You need to book dining the minute you arrive or you will not get to eat until around 10pm they are very full there. Dining was fairly formal and the menus mirrored each other. The beds were the best part of the trip probably the most comfortable yet. Timeshare, yes. We got suckered to go to one and the lady was so rude to us after we stated we were not interested that we thought of leaving that day.
Rebbecca
Yes I had a king size bed in my room in the adult section (la perla). as far as dining I had no restrictions and easy to get reservations.
Yanks
Reservations were the key. Beds were King Sized. Got a "pre timeshare" type meeting almost setup under the guise of "the resort's birthday celebration".
ajriii
They will try to accommodate any dining restrictions you may have. Yes, there are king sized beds and they are very comfy. We were never bothered by timeshare people at the resort.
Blondenana
They do prefer a reservation, but we were able to be seated even without prior reservations at several restaurants. The beds are king size. They do offer you what they call an "Invitation" to a presentation, but yes it a timeshare presentation. I did it because I wanted the free resort credit to use towards the spa. So it was well worth it to me.
Lifeisbeautiful79
Yes, king sized beds that are comfy. We were not bothered once by Timeshare pitches nor did we see any other guests being approached.
Breena
We had a king size bed
Dining and food were excellent - only restrictions were some restaurants were adult only and one restaurant was for "Royal Service" only.
They have a pitch - you can avoid if you don't want the free gifts. We got a vacation voucher, $100 to spend at the resort, and 10% off excursions.
TechnologyAddict
PASSIONS IS THE ONLY RESTAURANT THAT YOU NEED TO DRESS UP A BIT, THE OTHERS REQUIRE SUN DRESSES FOR WOMEN AND NICE SHORTS WITH POLO SHIRT FOR MEN. YES WE STAYED IN KING SIZE BED. THEY WILL ASK YOU ABOUT TIMESHARE BUT DON'T REALLY BOTHER YOU AFTER THAT. IF YOU GO THROUGH 90 MINUTE ORIENTATION YOU WILL RECEIVE 2 FREE 50 MINUTE MASSAGES
Razor
The dining rooms just require sleeves on the shirt, can even be a t-shirt. The only place a tank top or sleeveless was allowed was out by the pool. There are king size beds but our swim up had 2 twin size. We were not hassled at all by time share people. That made it even more relaxing.
Shoprat
There are no dining restrictions for Royal Service guests. There is one restaurant, Passions, that has an upgrade fee. When we booked the resort the cost was $50 and when we arrived it changed to $90 / person. There are king size beds and they were quite comfortable. You won't be bothered with Timeshare pitches, but when they tell you to book your transportation to return home they will try to sell you on their excursions. You don't need to book your excursions through the resort if you don't want to...feel free to shop around for the best price.

How is the beach at this resort?8 answers
6 years, 73 months ago
New York
Paradisus Playa del Carmen, La perla offers a stunning beachfront location in a little bay with a beautiful, swimmable beach. One entrance onto the beach is from the adult section of the hotel and the other is from the family-friendly section. Loungers, towels and umbrellas for shade are available at the beach.
LisaCC
It is just a strip. All guests use the loungers - with or without umbrella. They have a mangrove preserve between the pool(s) and the beach. This is for eco and gov regulations. They do have one area for beach volley-ball. But is it not a big Jersey shore style beach. The water is very clear though.
TechnologyAddict
IT WAS SMALL BUT NICE
Razor
I thought the beach was small and rocky. I'm normally a beach person, but on this trip, we used the pool
Shoprat
The beach was beautiful, but small. There are a few rocks in the water, but the water is so clear you can see them and steer clear. The sand is white and soft and not many shells.
JLS2
Beautiful beach you can walk to the beach from the resort it's only a few steps away.
Maria1983
It was good but lots of seaweed at times.
maxiesdad
It was beyond great, easily accessible, wait service, lots of seating with cabanas and lots of showers and places to rinse your feet.

Are the tips incl. in this all inclusive hotel? and if not, how much do give in tip, what is common over there?7 answers
5 years, 71 months ago
Bristol
Tips are included in the all inclusive price at this resort.
BethCC
Unless the resort explicitly says "No tipping", I think it is appropriate to tip restaurant, bar and housekeeping staff at "All-inclusive" resorts.
I tip $1.00 for drinks at the bar (sometimes every other time) and $5.00 - $10.00 to waiters at restaurants. If a self serve buffet, maybe $1.00 or $2.00.
Housekeeping staff $2.00 - $5.00 per night depending on how good they are at keeping us stocked.
TechnologyAddict
TIPS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN ALL INCLUSIVE. THEY DONT EXPECT TIPS BUT WE ALWAYS GAVE A COUPLE OF DOLLARS AT BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER. THEY APPRECIATE ANYTHING. THERE WERE SOME PEOPLE THAT DIDN'T TIP AT ALL. BUT THEY DO TAKE CARE OF YOU IF YOU TIP SOMETHING.
Razor
As far as I know, no tips are necessary, but we gave them and they were appreciated
Shoprat
Nobody expects a tip but they all deserve it. Everyone that I saw tipped. We tipped everyone a couple dollars except at dinner and our butler. Those men and women work hard and are very deserving and need our tips more than we need a few dollars here and there.
saltyfrogs
Gratuity is not included. We tipped a few dollars at every meal and gave about $10 each day to our poolside waiter. We also gave housekeeping $25 for the 5 nights and $50 to our private butler. We didn't see others leaving tips at the dinner restaurants, but we're American and felt uncomfortable not leaving a tip.
JLS2
Tip is not included, and the staff is excellent. We tipped our bartenders/servers about $15 each a day because they were great

No aquariums in the rooms. I saw the pictures you are talking about but never even noticed the design in our room

No, they are not real aquariums. It is a nice illuminated sort of painting.
saltyfrogs
The aquarium is just a photo on the wall...it's very pretty though and has back lighting which looks amazing while you're enjoying the jazuzzi on the balcony or taking a soak in the bath tub as long as you turn off all of the other lights in the room.

For this Resort is the Upgrade worth the Price? Is it that much better to Upgrade? What do you get with the upgrade?
5 years, 70 months ago
Dan
If you upgrade to the Royal Service it includes: Discrete Butler service, accommodation in luxurious suites with in-room whirlpool bathtubs, free cellphone to call your butler, preferential reservations in the a la carte restaurants, YHI Spa and sports, entertainment and leisure activities, access to the private Royal Service pool with Pool Concierge, access to the private Royal Service beach with beds and concierge service, A la carte breakfast & lunch in La Palapa, the exclusive Royal Service Restaurant, exclusive Royal Service VIP lounge with private check-in/check-out, daily continental breakfast, coffee and beverages throughout the day, international newspapers, complimentary Wi-Fi and evening cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and a pillow menu.
LizCC
I don't think it's worth it. The Jr. suites are excellent and offer plenty of space.
SteveHOU
Definitely! You get a private pool, beach, butler, area of the resort that is very nice, and a few other things. You definitely feel the difference if you are part of the upgraded service.
saltyfrogs
Staying in the Royal Service part of the resort is totally worth the cost. NO KIDS ON THE ROYAL SERVICE SIDE. Private facility exclusively available to upgrade guests. The Royal Service lounge, poolside restaurant, swimming pool and bar were never too crowded. No lines for the restroom, towels, drinks, etc. And the beauty of upgrading is that you have the option to go to the other side. You also get a private butler that knows you by face / name...she came to find us several times a day to make sure we had dinner reservations each night, that our excursions were booked, that our transportation was booked and she handled special requests for our room...had our bubble bath drawn, had our jazucci on the patio ready at 11:30pm when we returned from dinner. And on the 2nd night there was even a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room.
JLS2
The upgrade gives you additional areas of the resort that are only available to those with the upgrade. This includes additional lunch options, another pool, and additional covered poolside beds. in my opinion, this depends on how crowded the resort is when you are there. For our trip it was relatively empty for the first 3 days, and then on our last day a lot of people arrived. If it was as crowded the last day as it was on the first, we would have upgraded. You have one day to decide if you want to upgrade.
Allison
Yes worth the upgrade, Swim Up Suite worth the price. The pool is outside your room terrace.

airport shuttle complimentary?9 answers
Is there complimentary shuttle service to and from the resort and airport? If not, how much is the shuttle?
5 years, 67 months ago
Overland Park, KS
This resort does not offer complimentary airport shuttle service, however, when booking through CheapCaribbean.com we would be more than happy to assist you with arranging transfer. The current price per person for shared round trip transportation is $40.00. The current price per person for private transportation is $100.00 per person.
BethCC
No, but we purchased the shared transportation to and from the airport. I believe it was around $60 for my husband and I for both ways.
saltyfrogs
No, there is no free shuttle service. Our shuttle cost was included in the package whish was approx. $40 / person.
JLS2
No nothing complimentary, arrange transfers via Cheap Caribbean. Our vendor was Amstar. Don't get caught up with airport rep who will point you in the direction of your shuttle but also try to talk you into presentation. Price maybe $75 rountrip pp.
TravelHerNY
Excellent service they knew who we were as we arrived and drove with care. Also answered any questions we had about the area. Very informative .
Maria1983
Not complimentary I believe we paid $45 per person round trip.
maxiesdad
No there is no complimentary shuttle we booked our shuttle to and from the airport through cheap caribbean
Seaurchin
Shuttle service is not complimentary. Inside the airport a taxi ride would have been $100USD cash to the resort for 2 people and $75USD for a credit card. The return trip with the same agency would have been $70USD. I talked them down to $120USD RT but walked away from them and went outside the airport gates to try for a "local taxi" that did not have the airport contract. I ended up negotiating $100USD RT but money wasn't the only thing we paid with. Returning to the airport, we had a James Bond style ride as 2 taxis from the agency with the airport contract literally tried to run us off the road. Our driver was going in reverse on the freeway trying to get away from them. At one point, one of the other taxi drivers turned around and was driving straight at us. I AM NOT KIDDING! Just be safer and stay with the airport contracted agency to avoid this turf war.
sunNrelaxation
No shuttle service is not included and needs to be booked seperate. The price for a share ride is around 50.00 per person
tmlfaucher
Transfer service to and from the airport is not included in the cost. There are several options available and we went with Cancun Valet. We took a private shuttle for the three of us (a mini van picked us up outside the airport) and round trip was $135.00 US. Some others are a bit cheaper but it isn't a private transfer and you may have to stop several times to drop others off before you hit your resort.....your decision and I guess it depends on how much time you want to spend en route.

Pool Size4 answers
The description says there are 4 pools. From the photos I can only see two. How big are the pools? Is the adult only pool tiny?
4 years, 54 months ago
WV
We would advise that the pools on this property are about medium to large sized.
CaitlinCC
There are 2 pools on the adult-only side of the resort. You have access to the pool at the other resort (Esmerelda), but you would be swimming with children of course, and it's crowded. One of the pools at the La Perla side is reserved for the guest who have selected the "royal package" which I recommend. Some of the rooms do have small pools connected, but they are only available to the guest staying in those rooms.
TutuLove2
There are four total pools; we only used the Adults Only Activity pool which is not heated and has the entertainment going on (i.e., water aerobics, scuba, DJ entertainment, etc). The Royal Adults Only pool is for guests in Royal Service and is heated and a bit smaller but still plenty big. Both pools have swim up bars...

No. It is a nice-sized pool with a bar accessible without getting out of the water.

What is the price range for a massage or facial at the spa?4 answers

My honey booked me an Aromatherapy massage I was about $180 for 80 minutes. We were provided a coupon book upon check in which included a $50 spa credit which we used toward the massage it was a great savings.
GoAheadMakeMyStay
80-minute massage was $200 -- and worth it!
Mobeach17
Spa is beautiful but not worth the price. Living in NY and used to higher prices for spa services, I found the prices ridiculous. I would pay for a massage on the beach (different company) and they're $55USD and amazing.

Yes, one side is for adults the other is for children. Families are not allowed access to the Adult side. They are separated by a large restaurant .

Great resort for adults and families. The resort is split in the middle so only kids can be in certain areas. Plenty of space and pools and beach for everyone. I highly recommend this resort. It was beautiful and nicely geared towards kids also

Yes. The restaurants are shared but the pools and rooms are in separate zones.

Is this resort within walking distance of shops etc.. on 5th Ave. By looking at the map it looks as if it is at the opposite end of 5th ave?7 answers

Kincaid Illinois
Hello,
You will want to take the short taxi or bus ride there.
bthornton
5ta Avenida is about a 30 min walk.. I just took a cab ride every time we went to 5ta or Cozumel.. Cab ride is about $160 pesos ($8.50 in US Dollars).. There is however a small convenience store about 2 blocks from the resort..
JR1983
No it isn't a safe area to walk in and it is truly a good hour walk, Cab to and from hotel is $12 each way. Make sure you have Pesos or u-ripped US dollars. I had a slight tear in a $20 and no one would accept it.
Kpot
No. It' looked like a shady area to run in as well. I wouldn't recommend straying
Sm1968
No, not walking distance I wouldn't think, but plenty of taxis available for a very inexpensive price and your transportation service may do it for you for free.
Paradise2016
We took a cab, it was about a 5-7 min can ride. Only 12$
Smithfor2
I wouldn't recommend walking to 5th Avenue to shop; it is too far and you'd need to walk along a stretch of four lane highway. The front desk can arrange for a taxi to take you there and you can agree on a time for them to return to a mutually agreed upon location to pick you up and take you back to the resort.

It is...but maybe not a rowdy crowd. This is a tranquil resort. So if you are looking for a rough and rowdy time I don't think this is the place for you. I remember one day, there were a lot of people in the pool and everyone was just relaxing and this guy starts blaring country rap full of offensive language and material. While I don't mind that at home....it killed the vibe at the pool a lot of people got upset and left.

The royal service rooms are all located in one particular area. However, the One Bedroom Swim-up does not come with the option for Royal Service.
JeannieCC
The rooms are located in different areas. Royal service has their own private areas and pools that non royal service members cannot access. Royal service rooms are located closer to the main area where the food and beach access is. I'm not sure what they look like inside but the non royal service swim up suites were beautiful.

The swim up rooms are awesome, but not a lot of privacy.

What is the standard for tipping if any.5 answers
3 years, 40 months ago
Joe k
While tipping is not required as it is part of your all-inclusive package, tips are always welcome for exceptional service.
JeannieCC
We tipped everyone depending on what they did for us. If an employee did something simple like bring us a drink he got $1 from both of us. If we had excellent service at a restaurant we gave as much as $8 for the two of us. I left the day maid a nice tip and also left a tip for the turn down service maid but it was a little less because she didn't do as much for us. We weren't stingy with tipping and were treated well because of it.
VickieBrian
Although tipping isn't required, we always travel to Mexico with the intent of tipping for great service. We tend to carry smaller bills and tip $5 or so for breakfast and lunch and typically $10 for dinner. In addition, we tip when servers bring drinks, etc. The staff in Mexico don't make a lot so this is our way of rewarding their commitment to service.
I can tell you that I was disappointed that I didn't see more folks tip...
byrdog
We did tip somewhere around $5 for breakfast and lunch service and then about $10+ for dinner. In addition, we did issue tips to the servers who ran back and forth for drinks. The servers work very hard and don't typically get paid a lot so tipping for service is what I've always done.
It was disappointing to see others not tip at all...
byrdog
Please, please tip here and there at least $1 for drinks and do tip at dinner, what you would in the US. These people make more in tips than they do hourly. They probably make what we make per hour in a whole day. And they work from 5:30AM sometimes until 7:30PM

Or you can swim out of your room step out for a sec and then step back in and be directly in the large pool with the pool bar. The pools are huge with lounge seats in the pool and around the pool. Never a long wait at the pool bar. The swim up rooms are awesome and I would definitely recommend!

How close is this resort to the la esmerelda resort? Are they close enough to still spend time with family staying at the other resort?5 answers

It is an easy walk. The properties are side by side.
CCGreg
Yes!
They are connected to each other! and you can go to all the restaurants on the family side. there is also a family beach section
shoshc10
The two resorts (La Perla and La Esmeralda) are the same resort just split down the middle by an invisible line and a sign that says adults only. If you are on the adults only side you will find yourself on the other side for food options and entertainment quite often anyway.
This would be a great resort to spend time with family and then get away to the adults only side. The beach is shared between both resorts. There are pools on the family side which you can use. The resort is awesome and small enough that you can easily access both sodes
Wakefieldwa
Yes you can. It was a pro and a con because you are able to easily go to the kid section amor adult section. But as an adult wanting to be away from kids for a while. The accessibility to come to the adult side should be monitored more strictly.
jdivz
Absolutely. The resorts are connected via a central area housing all of the restaurants. The adult side (La Perla) can visit any restaurant, while the La Esmeralda side can only go to the family restaurants and pools.

How is the beach at this resort?5 answers
2 years, 34 months ago

This stunning spot sits on a private bay where you get to lounge on pristine sands with crisp blue water. The white-powdery, beautiful beach is not particularly large, however.
JeannieCC
The beach is nice and the staff does a good job of removing seaweed. It is quite rocky out in the water in some places.
Mobeach17
The beach is very nice! It is private and they have security very safe, you do not get all the peddlers coming up to you trying to sell stuff to you.
Mellie
The beach is beautiful looking. There are ample chairs and umbrellas for you to use, even during the peak times there were chairs available. The wait staff constantly serves you drinks and alcohol right on the beach. The only issue I had was at certain times of year and we went in April, the beach is hard to swim in due to rocks and seaweed. I didn't have an issue with the seaweed but there were large rocks in the bottom which made it hard to swim. They tell you this upfront so your not shocked when you go in but still. They say it depends on the time of year. They have ample pools to swim in which kinda make up for it.
Wakefieldwa
Beach is OK; lots of seaweed which washed ashore, but that is taken care of by the resort staff. Beaches closer to Cancun have less.

What can the $1500 resort credit be used on?5 answers
2 years, 30 months ago
Philadelphia, PA
This would depend on the offer available at the time of booking. Usually it primarily consists of credits to use towards the purchase of things like bottles of wine, excursions, room upgrades, and spa packages. For further assistance, please call in to 800-915-2322 to speak with one of our beach experts.
JeannieCC
Its really just a discount book. If you spend a hundred here or there get ten off etc.
bama39
This resort credit is stupid. You can't really can't use it anywhere. You get better deals in the lobby for spa. You have to upgrade at check in. And the rooms are already amazing alone. Restaurant coupons are useless
HCBJ17
Its a scam, its just a book of coupons where you save over $1500...
Example, spend $200 at this jeweler and you get $50 dollars off your next purchase...
Jenbone
The credits are coupons that specify where they can be used and what the minimum purchase requirement is for each one. For instance one for the gift shop was $10 off with a $100 purchase. I made a special trip back to the desk to make certain this was our "credit" and was assured that was all they did.

Environmental Levy Fee
The Municipalidad of Solidaridad in the Rivera Maya is one of the most beautiful places in the Mexican Caribbean. Tourism has been instrumental in driving the economic and social development of the region. In an effort to continue to preserve, conserve and beautify the destination, the Municipality of Solidaridad has implemented a small environmental levy on visitors effective September 1, 2017. Hotels will collect 20 Mexican pesos per room per day on check out; the proceeds will be deposited in an environmental trust to fund local projects. The Municipalidad of Solidaridad thanks you for your understanding and support of this worthwhile endeavor. Thank you and enjoy your visit.
