Beautiful resort however many kinks to iron out..

So I will start with pros.. stunning beauty awaits you at this resort. My husband and I have been to Cancun and riviera Miyah several times in other resorts and have never seen anything like this resort. The spa was breath taking and worth even just taking a tour of the facility.. the staff was very kind and very nice to deal with. Cons the room we purchased on cheapcaribbean.com was an upgrade and was supposed to have an ocean view and a king sized bed. However the room assigned to us had zero ocean view and 2 double beds (not the most romantic set up for an anniversary trip for my 6ft 3 husband) after waiting in huge lines 3 times at the reception and battling for a better room for about 3 hrs we finally got a beautiful ocean view but no king size bed. The concierge told us that they couldn’t guarantee any king sized rooms unless we upgraded to the adults only facility in what is called the Fuego building. Only then would they guarantee king sized beds but we would have to pay an extremely heafty upgrade fee, and they blamed this oversight on cheapcarribean.com and its faulty advertising. While the staff was very kind they were not familiar enough with the resort to properly guide us when necessary..and the time share sharks were everywhere. We were extremely irritated when waiting for our room situation to be resolved they directed us to a gentleman who was supposed to provide a tour instead of just giving us a map. He of course was a salesman and fortunately we saw through his sales pitch early on so we didn’t waste too much time with him. We were however lost for the better part of the day because no map or tour was provided. The food at the Japanese restaurant was wonderful! However the rest of the resort was mediocre and if you really love lots meat for breakfast lunch and dinner then you’ll be quite happy. We met a couple who were vegetarian for cultural and religious reasons, and they were extremely unhappy with the food at this resort. The only seafood restaurant had a leaky ceiling which leaked onto the buffet for half of the week and then was closed down for repairs. Strange for a resort that was only one month old at the time. We would go back again. But we both agree that this resort has many things to work through, perhaps in one year they will be in a better place. Construction is still ongoing and the river that flows throughout is gorgeous but due to construction only accessible in selected areas. Once this project is complete we may return.

Amazing place!

Just got back from an 8 day vacation here and I must say I was incredibly impressed. This place truly has it all. The rooms are top notch and the grounds are meticulously cared for. The place is pretty big so it’s very easy to find quiet places away from the crowd. The lagoons are perfect for swimming and kayaking and the beach is surprisingly underrated. If you are not traveling with children then I would strongly suggest upgrading to the Fuego building as it is the adult only section of the resort. It has two adult only pools as well as access to the Fuego restaurant which has amazing food and atmosphere. Having access to the parks is a huge plus. Xcaret, Xplor, and Xenses are all on the grounds and are just a short 5 minute bus ride from the lobby so there is always something to get into.
