Great

This hotel chain is just amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly. The food was pretty good as well. It was a very relaxing experience for my boyfriend and I. Will come back.

Very nice....but

We enjoyed our stay at this property and found it to be very pleasant and and well-maintained, like the other two Bahia properties we have visited. The food was average, better at the other properties. Most likely because it wasn’t hot when it was supposed to be. We did two specialty restaurants and one was OK the other one was just so so. The service in the cafeteria area was really good until it got more crowded. Probably the biggest disappointment was all the seaweed on the beach. It was massive, to the point that it smelled and you couldn’t even see the sand or in the water . We stayed by the pool which was very nice. We do want to make a request, if anyone from Grand Bahia happens to read this, we really go on vacation to be on vacation and not be approached by employees trying to sell us on frequent traveler programs. We were entertained by all of the wildlife on the property.

Grand Bahia Principe

The resort and area are very beautiful but the resort is huge which translates to standing in lines for everything. There is no “to your chair” service in the pool or beach areas which means, if you want a drink, you have to stand in a long line - many times in direct sunlight. We found the shuttle service inconsistent, though, for us it was easy to walk where we needed to go. If you have issues with walking, you will spend even more time in lines waiting. It was nearly impossible to get a reservation in the specialty restaurants unless you were willing to wait until after 10:00 pm to have dinner. The front desk was also a challenge as there was always a line. Mostly because they encourage you to download their app but the WiFi was extremely unreliable so the staff would spend upwards of 20 minutes trying to get their app to work on guests phones.
