Less for your $$

I will have to start by saying that I "neglected" to read the reviews because had I done my "homework" right; I could have very well avoided the "disappointment" of arriving to a "run-down" place. The mildewed smell, decaying of tiles, unlighted areas hit me on the face from the beginning and as soon as I finished registering. I stayed on the 7th floor adjacent to a "noisy & licking" AC vent that at night I had to use the flashlight from my cellphone to avoid an "accident". I had complained or brought "Customer Service" to their attention and they were concern about it but not really much was done. They could have offered "complimentary massage or something" but none was made. Food is TERRIBLE! Drinks are of POOR QUALITY! Breakfast food was PRETTY AWFUL! My friends and I paid for an "all-inclusive" and we ALL had to spend time outside the Hotel to eat most of our meals. When we did eat there (only twice after the initial Breakfast and Lunch on our first day); the food was terrible as well! It doesn't take much to make food appealing and tasty. THE FOOD WAS ALWAYS; EITHER COLD OR AT "ROOM TEMPERATURE". Certainly, not what I paid for. I have been to the Westin which is just a few hotels up the Melia and I WILL CERTAINLY RECOMMEND THE WESTIN for other to go. Everything there was great. The only reason why I did not go back there was because my friends wanted an "all-inclusive". Life and Learn! Hope this review can help others to "really read the reviews" as it can safe them from one "disappointment after another".

We've stayed at Meliá resorts in Cancun and in Punta Cana this was by far the most outdated hotel in the chain that we know of so far! We upgraded to a ocean view room and we could barely see it from the 4th floor they put us on. Service was excellent they aimed to please. Food was good but repetitive and our room was ok beds very small and could feel the coils. I wouldn't come back here though. All in all our vacation was good and we enjoyed our stay.

What's to Love

The all-inclusive fabulousness: the food, the drinks, the everything is sandsational.

Teeing off at the Marina Vallarta Golf Course that's a coconut's throw from the resort.

Dropping the kids off at the kid's club then making a beeline for the swim-up bar.

Melting into stress-smashing, body-and-soul-soothing massages in an open-air cabana.

Swimming, floating and diving into the largest pool in Vallarta - zero-entry point for kids!

The all-consuming kids' activities: arts & crafts, ping pong, foosball, arcade games and more.

Visiting the landmark, the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe & zip lining in the nearby jungle.

The nightly shows - the dancers cut a rug with everything from retro to traditional cultural dances.

Hanging at the Marieta Islands and Los Arcos National Marine Park. Both are not far away.

What We'd Change

We wish the beach were a little larger, but the outrageously huge pool more than makes up for it with its jetted sections and zero-entry kids' area.

Why You Should Go

The resort is just 10 minutes from the airport so your fam's slammin' vacay will begin in a snap.

The hotel does not accept "Spring Breakers" - put your hands together for this one.

You can go whale-watching and deep-sea fishing. Go ahead - take the plunge.

There's jet ski and motor boat rentals plus parasailing, scuba, water skiing & more.

Hop on this opp: there's horseback riding. You can't miss this.

When you're drying off, you can play tennis, hit the climbing wall or batting cage.

Luckily, medical facilities are near should you trip on a coconut or have any other mishap.

Keep your svelte body looking svelte with yoga, aerobics and a fitness room.
