"We loved the Riu Santa Fe. The staff was fabulous, the rooms clean and the views were beautiful. The food was excellent. We expected food such as we have gotten before on cruises. We were very happily ..." – Mjasja

This review may save your life! jk

So hopefully this review will save your life lol. There is no Jack Daniels or any other good liquor at this resort so put it in your checked luggage or stop by the duty free upon arrival. As far as name brand liquor they had: Kahlua, Smirnoff, cuervo, beefeater, Jim Bean, Canadian Mist, barcardi, jimador and a few bottles of Absolut Raspberri -_- They can still make drinks with rail...but I'm not bout that life! Ok, so I arrived at around 1145 am, my room was ready they let me check in. You walk your own luggage to your room, there is no elevator in most buildings. Went to get food- and like most resorts you gotta find what works for you. Everything looks good but then it doesn't taste great. Best advice only eat things you can get made to order. Breakfast- omelette station at buffet. Lunch- make your own taco station or go to the barbecue pit by the party pool. Dinner- go to the steakhouse...go early or you won't be getting steak there...but even at the buffet you can get pasta made to order! Definitely hit all the pool themed parties- was able to catch the Pink party, Neon party and Jungle party! Had the best time there- people are nice, dancing, drinking, face painters, foam in the pool they have dancers out there, dj, get a drink or 4 and just go with it. There's a snack bar there and 2 bars, one pool bar and one walk up. Even a drink station that you can get your own beer or soda/water. So much fun, and it was my bday so it was even better for me. At night, 6 pm other bars open up for the party crowd 21+ Went to the club there a couple times, but no big deal..The beach is not swimmable (if thats a word) but a 5 min walk down the beach you can swim there. Also, a few minutes more down the beach you can rent jet ski's $50 for 30 minutes... I did, you definitely should! This is a family resort, but it wasn't really a problem...you see kids but most of them are at the family pools in the middle of the resort. It was shocking when people brought there kid in the adult pool- if there's a swim 'up bar---it's an adult pool.(my opinion.) I left on the earliest flight out, so checked out at 6 am- got some food from the 24 hour sports bar. Oh yeah, rooms are ok, bed is firm, take singles for tipping- to be nice.

Fun vacation with friends

No shampoo in room all other resorts have it so we did not pack it. Pool bars need to be opened longer than 6:00 for people who go to pool later in day.

Party Hotel for sure!

when we arrived it was a little chaotic, lots of people, no one really guided us where to go we just kind of found our way around. Reception didn't ask for an ID for my reservation which was a little weird, but other wise it was quick and easy. The receptionist was able to get my friends to room next to us and upgraded our rooms to a pool view by courtesy which was really nice. the resort/service: beautiful resort, very well kept, clean and the staff is really nice. the employees (men) are very flirty and a little too touc hy, it can be really uncomfortable. I understand Spanish and could hear their super flirty comments to me and my friends and stuff. the pools are amazing, sparkling clean (except bar pools, bc obviously everyone is really drunk and it's a pee fest) but the bigger pools are so clean and beautifully kept. i didn't like that there was no drink service to the pools though. it would've been nice instead of having to go back and fourth to the bars. food: food sucks and it's made with no love. tacos are ground beef instead of actual chicken/steak. the buffets are just gross, no other words. Drinks: pretty good, not too strong but you can always ask for extra. the entertainment: is a little cheesy, it was not very well practiced and some of the performers didnt look like they even wanted to be there, the riu pool party entertainers were the only ones who really looked trained and looked like they enjoyed their job. also it's very loud, everywhere. want to lay down and relax? probably go to your room. otherwise this is a 100% PARTY HOTEL. you come here to get drunk safety: Ok i'm not sure where to start. the hotel itself is basically closed in big walls from the outside (by highway), there's one entrance in and every time you come in, they check for resort bracelets. however, inside the resort no one is really checking for them. my friend lost hers on the 3/5 days and was never told anything. the people outside on the beach (obviously outside of the resorts control) are sketchy sometimes. there's drugs everywhere so just be a little careful. also in the resort nightclub, i was almost drugged by some locals who did not have bracelets on. they tried to force me to take a drink. they said they were there on vacation but the didnt have the bracelets and they obviously knew people there. so i was really scared after that and never went back into the club. would i stay again? no. did i enjoy my stay? Yes.

What's to Love

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

Cabo's breath-stealing views from the patio of the resort that are picture-worthy.

Mojitos are legendary and de-lish. Order up as many as you want.

RiuFit is ready to buff you up. Weights. Cardio. Stretching. Catch it every morning & afternoon.

The impressive nightly entertainment. Especially fun for the little ones.

RiuLand, where the kiddos can play & craft the day away while you melt into stress extraction at the spa.

Dipping into the Jacuzzi for bubbly relaxation. (Plus always a fun mingling spot.)

What We'd Change

You can't swim in the ocean, but the views from the pools, the sunsets and sunrises and walks a long the beach are stunning.

Why You Should Go

It's close to the heart of Cabo San Lucas' shopping, nosh & drinking spots and the marina.

Whale watching here is epic. Best time to see these awe-inspiring creatures - mid-Dec thru mid-April.

Cabo's famous "El Arco" is in the backdrop. Grab your camera and snap, snap away.

You can dance your heart out at Pacha nightclub. Put on your disco shoes and get to it.

Invigorating crowds keep the party going at the pool, around the resort and at night.

We know you're ready to escape the everyday and head to Cabo's sunny shores. Can't you just picture your day lounging by that big, bright blue pool? Good news - there is a swim-up bar for convenient cocktail-loading. Ah, day drinking just got a little more lively. Of course, Riu goes all out with unlimited food and drink, entertainment day and night, everything you want, and tops it off with a stress-smashing spa. But wait, it gets better. This little resort-gem is located close to Cabo's restaurants, bars, nightlife and shopping. And it's all waiting for you.

It's Time to Get Your Riu On.
Following the addition of 288 new rooms to the hotel and a water park, RIU Santa Fe is introducing their new Riu Pool Party concept.
