Not good
The hotel has no air conditioner in the restaurants. It was extremely hot. In the room the air was not working right. Even the refrigerator the water was warm. The staff said is because it was extremely hot week. The beach has black flag.
We booked this trip for our honeymoon and had travelled all inclusive prior and loved it, hence choosing Sunscape. Our room was very comfortable and had two large balconies both with amazing ocean views. We booked the ocean deluxe room option. Things we would have changed - the food options - although it’s advertized that the buffet menu changes daily as does some of the restaurants- they don’t. For the most part the buffet mostly had the same food. Food was good but quickly got tired of the same varieties. Restaurant De Mario was our go to as they had excellent food and did offer changes in the menu. We ended up leaving the resort a number of times and eating in the towns. The beach is relaxing if you are looking to soak up the sun rays and catch a good book - but is not suitable for swimming, snorkeling or any type of kayaking. The waves are big and undertow is strong. There are other beaches you can go to in order to do these things - however there is a charge for that. Overall we enjoyed our trip - but had we known some of these things we would likely not have booked this all inclusive resort as we spent quite a bit of time and extra money outside the resort.
Where to begin!!This was a very good purchase price va-k so we thought. The hotel is dated, the rooms are average in sz, but beds are HARD! The food at every restaurant we tried in the hotel was bad, meat was dry and looks like they use can soups/sauces, nothing that was fresh, we went out to eat instead. I had an accident at the hotel where I slipped and broke my ankle going in the ladies restroom, the floors were wet and there was no warning signs anywhere! All I got from hotel was an appology! Overall this stay was awful, decided to stay the rest of my trip there since I had to pay another flight ticket to come home and didn't have $for that. Next time I rather pay more but have the assurance that I'm going to be happy with my purchase. BTW I tried contacting my booking agency Cheap Carrabian and I kept getting run around.
The resort is very nice, well-kept facilities and friendly staff. Not many dining options, but what they have is good and quite sufficient. There were activities if you chose, but they weren't in your face. We took advantage of one of the excellent special offers from the spa and were well pleased. The Ixtapa beach is amazing and makes a vacation in this part of Mexico most pleasant.

You migh want to book an Adults Only property as they can certainly be quieter than resorts which are family friendly.

Do not go to this hotel!! Warning!!! Worst food ever and rundown hotel
Leli
No. This will not be a good spot for a memorable anniversary or birthday...Go someplace else...like Puerta Vallarta.

If you two are active and like hiking and seeing the beautiful sceneries and going in beautiful caves that you can snorkel in I would suggest Cancun, but the ocean can sometimes be crazy there. There is a lot of activities you both can do and also be to yourselves .
