I would recommend with these provisos....

I want to be thorough because I know that I rely heavily on others' reviews. First, the beach is lovely, although there is not much beach front. They have clearly trucked in sand in order to make the beach so lovely, which means that the water is not as clear, and there is not a lot of beauty in the on-site snorkeling. The resort is long and narrow...the beach is not wide, and the resort is built long from the beach inland. It's more walking, but also a lot of interest and privacy. The mangroves mean wildlife and insects, and you must pass through the mangroves to reach the pools, lunch, most bars, and the beach. Not a problem at all, just worth mentioning. We went the first week of January. Apparently, this is their second busiest week of the year. I think if we had gone another time we might be writing higher praises. Employees were clearly exhausted and spread thin, There were never any towels in the towel hut; there were never any chairs at the beach or at either pool. Reservations for dinner must be made at precisely 9 AM, or you are not getting one. When the website says they try to honor requests, it covers them if they don't. We had been planning this trip for a year. We took 7 adults, paid for 4 rooms, and my husband and I had to sleep separately because they could not/would not honor our request for a king sized bed. This is our third trip to Cozumel and our fourth all-inclusive resort. Personally, I do not think that I would return here. There are no iconic palapas on the beach. The food is better than most, but the seafood restaurant was pretty bad. The drinks are what you have come to expect from an all-inclusive, but the bar tenders are friendly. They really do try to make what you want. We have only praise for all of the bar tenders we encountered. The room was lovely even if it had two FULL sized beds. That's right; they aren't even queens. Housekeeping kept the room nice, but the mini fridge is stocked only every other day. That didn't matter to us because ours didn't work anyway, so we never drank out of it; everything in it was warm. Our wash cloths and hand towels were never replaced, although we had plenty of clean bath towels. The resort is trying to be eco-friendly and use energy wisely. You must put your room key card into a slot to turn on the lights in your room. If you do not, the lights will turn off in about 20 seconds. Even with every light on, if the curtains are closed, the room is fairly dark...even the bathroom does not really provide enough light to do make-up. We did not pay for any upgrades because we paid for 4 rooms/7 people. I don't know if perhaps our experience would have been better if we had upgraded. All in all, it was OK. We did not attend any of the sales excursions, although we did see a lot of people on those tours. Hard pass on that. We attended a few of the shows, and they were nice--pretty much what we have come to expect from resort entertainment. They have no venue for the shows though...there is a concrete patio with plastic chairs. One night, our boys were going back to their rooms and encountered women from the dance troupe changing clothes on the sidewalk. There was no blanket, tent, nothing to allow those women some privacy. We enjoyed the fire dance VERY much. We had never seen anything like it. Food? Not a lot of restaurants for such a large resort. Breakfast was pretty much the same every single day. It was, however, VERY good with lots of choices. Lunch was the same thing every day too. Again, it was very good. The buffet dinners were good. The Mexican restaurant was also good, and our son and his girlfriend raved about the Mediterranean restaurant. I'd say that if you go during an off-season you are probably going to have a much better experience than we did. I'd also say that if you can catch a good deal, it's probably worth taking. I would only return to this resort under those conditions: an unusually good price when it isn't going to be super full.

Nice quiet relaxing resort

Food and the service was good, The vacation resort [time share] people that you see every morning trying to sign you up for their presentation gets old, I personally didn't travel to this resort to have my time taken up by the Vacation/time share people. Also I personally would rather have the internet included in my vacation package or at least have it as a option to add it in when booking my package, Its a disappointment having to pay the additional fee to have internet at the reception desk. The romantic package was not what I expected and to arrange the romantic dinner wasn't easy and they tried to get us to do it at the buffet, again not what I expected. This resort was very quiet, adult pool great for relaxation. I strongly recommend taking bug spray, this resort is in the middle of heavy wooded area so the mosquito's and other pests, sand fleas, etc are plentiful and I was bitten all over my legs causing severe discomfort and itching for several days, not a deal breaker but be aware when the sun goes down the pests come out. The pools were clean and relaxing, beach sand was nice. The staff and restaurants were top notch, didn't have a bad meal the whole time we were there.

Great value

10 of us booked back in March for our trip in November/December. The pricing was very attractive and that was with staying in the Royal Level. We were very pleased with our stay (as usual) we have stayed here before. We were pleased with the specialty restaurants and the buffets. We enjoyed the variety of pools including the pool in the Royal Club. The employees were very accomadating and very nice. Our experience with taking the tour and being told about their First Club Membership was not great. My wife and I played it off, but we really didn’t appreciate the high pressure sales tactics used by their managers. The young fella that showed us around was kind enough- the pressure started when they got the manager involved. The only other complaint I have is in regard to the pier fee. We are divers and use a dive guide from town. When he arrived at the pier the first morning he was informed we would need to pay a $5 US per person per day use fee. I believe paying for the resort stay should cover the use of the pier. Just my opinion. This is something new at this hotel. Hopefully they go back to the way it has been for years. All in all this is a beautiful hotel and we loved our 9 days there.
