Honeymoon

This was our first time to an Iberostar Resort, and to Cozumel. Let’s just say when we first showed up, we weren’t impressed. Our FIRST room had little bugs crawling all over the dresser, the rooms smelled musty (which I had read that they did in previous reviews, and the rooms were still dated, ex: old bedding etc. the first night in our room we woke up to find the floor flooded in the bathroom due to a leak in the ceiling. (We were first floor.) So, 7am I called the front desk to tell them and they said they would send maintenance. 8am rolled around and no one had came so we walked to theobby area (which is also where the breakfast buffet is.) They told us someone was in our room fixing it. We ate breakfast then went back to our room, the ceiling was then leaking in another spot... needless to say we weren’t happy and we were leaving on an excursion in less than an hour. We called the front desk and told them we wanted a new room. We packed our things and left on the excursion. When we came back they assigned us a new room. Right off the bat the room was cleaner and NO BUGS OR LEAKS! Yay! They made sure they did everything they could to make sure we were happy, so that made it great. Imagine waking up the first night of your honeymoon to a flooded bathroom AFTER you were already grossed out by the little bugs all over the dresser! Anyways, from then on things were great. Entertainment staff “Star friends” were awesome! Loved getting to know each and every one of them. Ocean is a little difficult to walk out into from the beach but it’s possible. The pool is pretty large, but a little dirty. Being inside the pool and leaning up against the side of it got my fiancé’s trunks dirty, so they could work on that a little! Alcohol selection and drinks were a little limited. The food was okay. After 11 nights we were pretty tired of it. There are 3 places you can make reservations and your reservations are limited/dependent on how many nights you stay. Tex Mex and Steak House were amazing, we didn’t do the Oriental. The buffet has a different style each night, Cajun, seafood, Oritental, etc, but it didn’t really change much at all. Breakfast and lunch are pretty much the same every day as well. We ended up going over to Albertos for dinner one night, HIGHLY recommend, but take some $$$$, lol. We did quite a few excursions and saw the island... I realized you don’t come to Cozumel for the luxury and partying like Cancun and other places, you come here for the culture, wildlife, marine life, and to see the amazing island itself. Had you asked me on the first day if I would ever come back my answer would have been no. Now, I would love to come back. After learning more about the culture, getting to know everyone here it has changed my mind completely. Staff goes above and beyond to ensure you’re enjoying your stay. Excursions we did were the Jeep Tour, Cozumel Bar hop, and a 3 Reef Snorkel tour. I would highly recommended all 3 of those.

Best Vaction Ever

Well this was the second time we've stayed at this Iberostar Resort in Cozumel. We love the huts that we stay in. It's more quiet and peaceful than a high-rise hotel. Every day we woke up to the sounds of birds and the island life. We are scuba divers and they have the boat port right there for us to walk over to. The resort staff is helpful and easy to work with. Our safe malfunctioned so we couldn't get into it. However they came and took it out and replaced it with another that day. They left us fruit and Champagne in our room because it was our first anniversary. We are gaining new friends, especially diving friends each time we go. We will definitely be back.

1st all inclusive and very impressed. Everything is so clean and kept. Everyone was super friendly and worked very hard. Entertainment was great. Only issue is ice melts super fast so beer and drinks were never cold but the climate not resort was that factor. The food wasnt the best. They did try very hard in the kitchen, just not as flavorful and variety or quality that i like.i will go back

Great Honeymoon Destination

The pool and beach were amazing. 1 hour free of snorkeling, kayaking, etc. per day was an awesome deal. The beach itself isnt rocky but once you enter the water from the beach, it is full of coral - not a big issue because you usually go into the water from the dock. The only disappointing part of Iberostar Cozumel was the quality of food. There was endless amounts of food, but it was the majority of the time only average in taste. Staff was all very willing to help when asked and very helpful. Excursions from resort were easy to book through lobby counter.
