Second Trip Better Thank First

Allegro Cozumel definitely upgraded from our trip there in 2016 till 2019. The beaches is gorgeous. My husband and I do wish they had umbrella's to get under versus only palm trees for shade. The lifeguard does not stay on duty, he plays pingpong and other games. There were more kids there this time too. The pools are not cleaned very well and the pool guy was cleaning the pool while people were in the pool in the morning around 9:00 a.m. The rooms have been upgraded and were nice, cozy. You could hear your neighbors in their room/children. The resort is allowing cruise ship customers to come to the resort for the day and use the entire resort. This was chaos a couple of days; as in, they are catering to the cruise ship patrons versus the customers at their own resort. One guy was smoking weed and urinating outside, using foul language and the food is swiped over by the people with their day passes. It may help to have those folks in a separate area on the beach rather than allowing them full access to the whole resort. We do really like Allegro resort, don't get me wrong, but for the price, and the beach being spectacular, it is awesome for snorkeling, diving, and any water activity.

May 2019 Premium Room

I'll keep this short for the quick read. For reference, my wife and i have been to the carribean 3 times prior to this trip, all at all-inclusives. This trip was 5-18-2019 to 5-22-2019 in one of their premium rooms. Premium room - probably not worth it. you get a dedicated private breakfast place, but they hit you super hard with the sales pitch when you get there because you are premium. real hard. Breakfast - great, especially at the buffet. Lunch - mediocre, it's kind of just thrown together. Dinner buffet - good. the different themes change it up. Italian dinner - great! Mexican dinner - good, but low on portion size. we actually ate again later. Room - good. the idea of not staying in a typical 'apartment' style is real nice. Pool - no clue, never used them. looked clean. Beach - short, but good. People seem to favor pools over beach so it's often quiet at the beach. Snorkeling - good, so long as you can swim out a little bit where is deeper so there is less sand kicked up. Overall, it was good. A solid 'average'. Cozumel itself is beautiful. But if i were to go back again, i would look for a different place.

Low quality

The grounds are nice, the rooms a bit on the small side but I guess if your not in there much it's ok. Our room had ants all in the bathroom. The rooms have paper thin walls. Like you could hear people talking or snoring next door. The pools are nice but instead of kids staying in their own pools they are everywhere. They should keep one pool at least only adults. The food here is not good at all. You will not starve to death but it's not good at all!!! The beach is full of shells that you walk on And they hurt your feet when you get in the ocean. The front reception desk is so slow and inattentive to anything. Took me and hour to check in, then I had to go back because they tried to put me in a room with 2 tiny beds. I never even spoke to the front to change it the bellman taking care of our bags knew I was irrated and fixed it. The worst part of this resort is they allow day passes to locals or whomever, they started coming In on Friday afternoon and all day on Saturday. The pools and restaurants were so full of people and kids it was ridiculous!!! Would never stay at this place again.

Great week !

The resort was very nice, the workers were great, very helpful when needed especially the waitresses and waiters like Erick who were always smiling and running their butts off ! The beach area was very nice, clean and soft. We spent alot of time at the private pool, the only issues were people coming into that area that werent supposed to be there and the small private restaurant where they put food out but somehow always forgot plates.I would say the resort itself is a great value and well taken care of,the food is good and the pools are clean.
