Worst resort experience

Hello Travelers, I went to cancun with a group of 18 friends for a bachelor party and we stayed at the Pyramid Grand Oasis. This was out worst resort experience and trust me, we have stayed at atleast 6 resorts in last two years. Let me start by the check-in process. It took them about 2 hours to check us in and there was only my group waiting in the lobby. We booked a 2 queen bedroom from cheapcarrabian and the resort gave us a king saying that cheapcarrabian does not guarantee a room type. Then we had to wait 3 hours because our room was not ready. The resort claim to have about 10 restaurants which are closed most of the day. The food is mediocre and the drinks are watered down. If you loose a room key, they charge you $10.00 USD for a new key, which is so stupid!! The rooms looked like a regular hotel room. Outdated and mediocre. Nothing like other resorts I have stayed in the past. The only good thing about this resort was the show that the artists perform in the evening. Commendable performances! Will not recommend this resort to any of my friends.

Nice beaches, terrible food and watery alcohol

Paying for the pyramid level access to the resort, I originally thought it would be getting exclusive treatment. There was no monitoring the beach beds meant for the pyramid guests on most days meaning there was not enough room on beds we paid for when we went to the beach. Going into food I was highly disappointed. If I could include a picture of some of the food that was served, I would. Most things are not actually made on the resort, just heated up. A lot of the breads, chips, and so on were stale. Easy things like serving food that was meant to be warm was carelessly not done and I cannot count the amount of times I ate cold food. Most of the food also was not seasoned. It got to the point that after seeing the food me and several other guests, I noticed, would just leave the establishment. There are a few things that were good but my stay was 6 days and who wants to eat the same thing for that long. On to the alcohol, drinks are very very watered down. Only a few select bars gave me a drink worth drinking. Staying at the grand pyramid we had high hopes for a great experience but was sorely let down. If you decide to stay here stay knowing you are fairly warned and maybe for only a few days and not 6.

Nice beaches, terrible food and watery alcohol Nice beaches, terrible food and watery alcohol

Don’t stay here

I’m baffled why cheap Caribbean has this hotel listed as 4.0 stars and felt very deceived by this after staying at the Grand Oasis in Cancun. Check yelp if you plan on staying here (where this hotel is accurately listed at 1.5 stars). This hotel had terrible infrastructure (leaking everywhere in the rain, rolling blackouts, pool tiles chipping away, broken/filthy day beds, to name a few) and an extremely unhelpful staff. Aside from a few helpful cleaning services people and servers, the bartenders are lazy and extremely slow/understaffed which really eats away at the value of an all inclusive. Coffee shops were often unmanned and I watched a woman’s almost drown from intoxication and had to run to get security who were ultimately laughed at the scenario. The toilets all backed up and the water shut down the last day I was here and I had to get on a plane home covered in sun block and un-showered. I would strongly recommend looking at other resorts which are similarly priced and better. I’m not exaggerating when I say this review only scrapes the tip of the iceberg.

It's ok

Not sanitary when you're getting a rinsed off cup to drink out of from the person that was ahead of you. Food options not good at all. Not like other resorts where they have a large selection at the buffet. Service is ok, you have your good ones and bad ones, but not any great ones.

The Pyramid at Grand Cancun: All-Inclusive Vegas on the Beach

Self-identified as the "Grandmaster of Fun," you can feel the buzz when you step into the lobby of this luxurious, beachy resort. Along with the largest beachfront pool in Cancun, where you can chillax on a private beach club with Bali beds and food/drink service, you've also got endless entertainment, along with premium amenities and services. You'll revel in live concerts, music festivals & shows and themed parties, some of which turn up unexpectedly - dancers seemingly appear out of nowhere and cut a rug in the lobby or comedy skits materialize by the pool. At night, the sizzle continues with a burlesque cabaret show in the Kinky nightclub, along with the brand new multi-level Red Casino at Grand Cancun that's open 24/7. The rooms have an ocean or lagoon view so you know you'll be gazing at some sweet blue hues. Nosh at 17 epic international restaurants, which includes several of the top-ranked restaurants in all of Cancun. Bonus: Pyramid guests receive one free gourmet dinner at Benazuza. Throw down at 20 rockin' bars and then wind down at the spa with massages, facials and body wraps. Truth is, there's amazement around every palm.
