Awesome vacation!
My stay at Paradisus was great! The resort was extremely well kept and beautiful. There are many food options to choose from as well as activities. The best part of the whole entire trip was the service. All the workers are extremely nice and helpful especially Victor-Rodriguez. He is a server there but went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time ever. I definitely will be back there.
Don’t waist your money! Customer service is 0 I’m this resort! All inclusive ? They don’t stuck the rooms fridge till you call! Everyday you need to call for towel and water! All inclusive ? Everything have extra charge! For 5 night spend $1900 and if you wanna have bad experience go ahead and book here in this resort. Management don care or listen to you as well. Your choice.
This was my Fiancé and I’s first trip to Paradisus and we had a wonderful time! The staff was very accommodating and the food was great. The hotel was very well maintained and beautifully designed. I would recommend this place to anyone. They also had awesome entertainment every night! The only disappointment we had was an excursion that we took. It was called the Jungle Tour which included a a small boat for two to drive through a so called “Jungle” and really all it was was a channel of water surrounded by wildlife trees. We were expecting a guided tour that would show us the Mexican wildlife such as monkeys etc... the end of the channel lead us to the ocean where we would snorkel at a designated place for 35 minutes. The disappointment in that, was the coral was brown not colorful like the pictures in the brosure described. We were however, able to see some colorful fish. This excursion has nothing to do with our stay at the Hotel. We were very spoiled with waiters on the beach serving us drinks. I would like to say, even though this is an all exclusive trip, we tipped our waitress and waiters as we saw how hard and dedicated they truly were to make us feel comfortable. I strongly urge you to think about that. :)
Beautiful place and wonderful for a family vacation. Only the first check in staff was not very nice and gave us some hard time in assigning our rooms. The manager was nice though

Kid's clubs will offer a variety of activities, but we recommend speaking with the resort directly to see what they may have planned around your dates of travel.

My kid was too young at 22months for the kids club. They have to be 4+ to be there and expensive. From what I saw, they had beds and games to keep them occupied.

Other than the pool and beach bars. what othe barsor clubs are in the resort? Is this a good resort for a club or partying lifestyle?
5 years, 72 months ago
new york
All of the resort's bars and night clubs are listed on our site, but you are located right in Cancun if you wish to venture around town.
LaurenCC
its about nothing in the hotel. You need to move to Cancun for clubs. You have one bar in the hotel and one small and quiet lounge.
Arcady
the always have a empty discotec and bar/sport lounge nothing happening
ExtensiveTraveler
There is only one other night club at the resort and it is VERY small. If you are looking to party every night this is probably not the resort you want.
NewlyAMrs
There were multiple bars inside as well. In the Royal Service area there was a self service section that had a good assortment of wines, beers and alcohols along with mixers.

if you want to upgrade, take the Royal service it will cost you atleast 60 dollars per day but its worth it. you get a private bottler and private pool with a private cabana by the beach and private bar and Continental breakfast if you dont want to go to the restaurant. and they'll give you coupons for wines if you go to their restaurant. Royal service is for adults only.
royalblue
$100 gave us a lower floor room (lower floors have bigger rooms)
jamesjm
the upgrade cost me $250.00 USD plus a $300.00 coupon i had used. the ocean view is awesome, the rooms are small such as the those overlooking the lagoon. Plus you are able to heard the noise from the discotec and bar lounge all night long which they should have told me

Are we limited to a certain number of restaurants that require a reservation at the Paradisus Cancun for a 6 night/7day trip?8 answers
For example, only 2 reservation required restaurants per 6 nights?
5 years, 70 months ago
Michigan
It is up to the resort as to which restaurants require reservations and how many reservations they allow per guest. I would recommend contacting the resort directly at paradisus.cancun@melia.com to have those questions answered, as their policy can change, and I want to ensure that you get the correct information. Thank you!
RobinCC
This hotel includes unlimited food and drinks, but some dining restrictions may apply. Please check with the front desk for details.
CaitlinCC
We stayed for 4n/5d. We were not limited to restaurants but you had to make reservations for each restaurant. The buffet restaurant was really nice, repeated menus but was good.
Shaggy523
No they only ask that you make a reservation prior to going to certain restaurants, not all the restaurant require it. You can eat at restaurant everyday if like or you also have the buffet.
Rumbero75
There are only a few restuarants that do not require reservations. We stayed 6 nights and only made reservations once and had no issues getting seated at the three restuarants that did not require reservations; however we typically ate dinner early enough to see the nightly shows (around 6:30 pm). Later dinners would require a wait for the three locations that did not accept reservations.
FamilyTravelin
Once upon arrival you need to make dinner reservation
for following evenings they have about 4 you can choose from that are included in your package portions are small best place was the Market Grill we had a brazilian BBQ type of dinner
nan77
not all restaruants are opened on a daily basic
ExtensiveTraveler
There are two restaurants you don't have to make any reservations and you have snacks and one restaurant open until 4 to 5 o'clock in the morning so you can really eat all day and yes the sun Beach Restaurant outside which does not require any reservation as well what food I mean absolutely incredible food out there but for the rest you make reservations and you get them quick as soon as you get up there the concert will sit you down and we'll make plans with you love to what time and when you would like to have your reservations you can also done out there is a lot of restrooms on that road as we have seen you can go and eat anywhere from American food too Mexican style food so everything is open past the hotel as well
Elizabeth30
There a couple of restaurants which do not need reservations. If the other restaurants are not too busy, then they honor guests without reservation. I've done that in my trip :) Even if you have last minute plan changes, they made sure you wouldnt be hungry ;) Food is really good in almost all the restaurants.

WE STAYED AT THE RESORT THE ENTIRE TIME. THE BARS INSIDE AT NIGHT WERE NICE...BUT VERY QUIET. THERE WERE NOT ANY SHOWS AND NO LIVE MUSIC. THE DJ WAS VERY GOOD HOWEVER. IT LOOKED LIKE THERE WERE A FEW CLUBS AND RESTAURANTS ON THE MAIN STRIP OF ROAD BEHIND THE RESORT...MORE GEARED TOWARD THE YOUNGER CROWD.
SWEETPOLLY
You can take a bus to Senor Frogs, Coco Bongos, Market, "party area" for $1.00...we took a taxi and it was $10 one way. Other than that, there is night life in the hotel itself, but its not a party zone or anything loud like that.
TheHodsonFamily
You can take local bus all club are about 10 minutes away. It is Safe and it only cost $8.50 Pesos about 80 cents US dollars

I see that the package for a 7 night stay is for a Deluxe Lagoon View Room. I am interested in the Deluxe Ocean View Room. Would I be able to change room type during reservation of package with Cheap Caribbean or will I have to wait to get to hotel to ask for the upgrade?
5 years, 65 months ago
New York
You can change the Room category while reserving a package for an increase of price or wait until you get to the resort and inquire about an upgrade at that point.
LizCC
We booked the Deluxe Lagoon View Room, Royal Svc... We asked for an upgrade at the hotel and as always they want more money and the place was empty!!!!!!!!!!! Just wrote a review, think twice about this property. Been to Cancun about 20X & 1st time here. We were both and are still sooooo sick!!!!!!!!
leeg66
you would have to wait. my suggestion is to stay on the lagoon side due to heavy noise emilating from the discotic and music bar lounge. i was on the 7th floor below the last floor we heard the noise all night long.

We changed when we got to to resort. Upgraded 2 rooms from Lagoon to ocean for 1 week for $450.00

Are the bars and lounge adults only, or are kids allowed in them?6 answers
Are kids allowed in the bars/lounges?
5 years, 65 months ago
Tammy G.
If the children are not of legal drinking age, they may be asked to leave the bars or lounges
AlixCC
I believe so. If you want to pay extra for Royal Service, you will find more private and adult-oriented areas such as their pool bar. The central location bars allowed kids, but maybe this was because it was the low season? I did not see kids there late at night, though.
Winniesmom
yes they are allowed
ExtensiveTraveler
only the lounge/club is adults only but its a kid friendly resort so if you are going on an adults trip, this resort isnt for you. too many kids!
fia82
Oh yes they are. They had a casino night, couldn't sit a table to play because they were full of anywhere from 8 to 12 year old. Also the bar was full of kids. Great parenting I tell you.
Robert0620
There is really truly only one "bar/nightclub" at the resort and you have to be 18 or older. Everything else is technically a restaurant and kids are allowed. (Just not in the Royal Service building, pool, and resturant, which is adults only.

Yes. We found the liquor to be above average for an AI resort. Remember: their top shelf is on the bottom shelf of an enclosed cabinet! Ask!

Because resort credits can change depending on the current offer please contact our Beach Experts for more information at 1-800-915-2322
LizCC
Did not recall any 550.00 credit at all!!
TAGA0NE
It is for your current stay. The hotel credits are bogus. Don't waste your time. You only get $50 off at the spa for each service. $20 off on a $200 purchase at the hotel souvenir shop. No matter how much in credits you have, You can only use small amounts at a time. We didn't feel they were worth anything. We had $1500 in credits and used $0.
PLopez
You can use for your stay. When you check in ask for your resort credits and they will give you a voucher book with them in it. We used the spa credit.

The kids under 18 get a different color band, however it was not closely monitored if others gave them drinks.

There were many spring breakers staying at the resort. A group of them was in front of us at the beach and had brought their guy friends from another resort into hang for the day, and security and management nicely and discreetly told them their guests would have to leave. They have pretty nice wrist bracelets showing your a guess. They put them on at checkin. The minors all wear a very bright one. Staff didn't seem to serve minors.
Zoeygirl2011
Everyone has a color coded bracelet provided at check in (actually a rather tasteful and nice bracelet, not one of those tacky paper type if things). They do not serve anyone under 18 an alcoholic beverage, they are wearing bracelets that identify them as too young to drink. They offer nonalcoholic beverages to those under 18.

I believe that you'll need a credit card like most of the hotels

No they don't they're going to give you a bracelet that you cannot lose that's have to stay on on your wrist at all times and as long as you wear your bracelet you get everything you're all exclusive for me olds to drink to everything no credit card was requested at any time unless at the end of the checkout when we had to pay for the food we had ordered extra to the room service other than that we never had to pretend any credit card or money and the soup or anything extra like in a gift store or grocery store or fun activities.

Is there a dress code for the restaurants?5 answers
3 years, 37 months ago
Trina
For some of the restaurants, for casual elegant, men should wear dress shoes, loafers or dress sandals; dress shirts with sleeves; and long pants or maybe a pair of Bermudas depending on the resort. Sleeveless shirts aren't allowed. Women can wear skirts, pants, or sundresses. Capris reside in a gray area and differ from resort to resort. No flip-flops.
And for Casual, either referred to as "resort casual" or simply "casual," this dress code is not too informal but not overdressed. It's popular at breakfast and lunch spots. For men, it means shorts, jeans, or slacks paired with a t-shirt or polo shirt. Sneakers, tennis shoes, and sandals are generally acceptable, but sleeveless shirts are not.
For women, a blouse with pants, jeans or a skirt works. Casual dresses or sundresses are popular options, too. These shouldn't be too low-cut or short. Bathing suits need to be covered up with a wrap or something similar. Footwear can be sneakers or sandals, as long as there's something covering (and protecting) those feet!
Some resorts call this dress code "informal." It's much the same meaning no swimsuits and footwear required, and a shirt or t-shirt with sleeves for men.
TimCC
Yes, resort casual is the dress code for the restaurants that require reservations (other than Tempo which requires fancier attire). Resort casual is still laid back. We wore sandals, shorts, and a t-shirt.

plenty of places for snorkeling with coral reef. we took Jungle Tour that let us ride a speed boat (prob. about 15 minutes) from the lagoon right in front of the resort to a place where we did the snorkeling.

No snorkeling outside of this hotel. Too many waves. No reef, and thus the water is an amazing "cerulean" blue color. It's beautiful actually. Best water and sand we've seen yet.

Sadly, there wasn't any at the resort. No reef either. Water was breathtaking and beautiful. There is a company called Aqua World right across the street that offered diving, snorkeling and tours. However, it was pricey as my son did it.

Most resorts close the pools between 5-7pm. If you have any further questions, you may contact the resort directly or call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.

closes at 7, I believe for cleaning.
juddie
Unsure exactly, but people were in them well after the bar closed. At a lot of the resorts I have been to, once the pool bar closes, it signals the end of the pool and people start heading to their rooms to get ready for dinner (5-530 pm). But I was eating dinner at 630 and some people were still swimming.

I see on their official website that booking the hotel also come with 1500 resort t credit, will this package include resort credit as well?

This resort has different specials running at different times which do often include various resort credits. For more information as to whether we currently have resort credits for your dates of travel/package you were interested in, please call in to 800-915-2322 to speak to our next available agent.
JeannieCC
The credit is broken up into categories. The beds by pool to rent are $105.00 for Day and your credit is $10.00 off. Spa prices are high so $30.00 credit is their tip. $10.00 off a bottle of wine, that they try to sell you.. It's an all inclusive! House wine was fine. They make it like your getting a great deal!!

How is the beach/ ocean access? sandy or rocky?5 answers
2 years, 31 months ago
JB
The beach at Paradisus Cancun is not rocky. It is a soft, sugar-white sand beach.
JeannieCC
Sandy
Jeffryvaldez
Very sandy. The sand is from coral as well so it doesn't get hot! Access to the beach is great - go out of the hotel, past the pool, down the stairs and you're there
Rachella
Sandy, very nice easy access. Not rocky at all. Very clean beach.
NewFanofCancun
Completely sandy in both directions. I was hoping to body surf but the tide here makes it harder than on the East Coast USA.

Can one snorkel at the resort?3 answers
2 years, 29 months ago
sherry
Yes, they do have snorkeling available. However, it is often recommended to enjoy one of the many snorkeling excursions to enjoy more variety and frequency in the viewing of tropical fish.
JeannieCC
There isn't anything to see in the ocean in front of the hotel. Do one of the excursions. We did a half day thru Amstar. Saw stingrays and lots of fish. It cost about $60 pp including transportation, gear, drinks, and fruit.
NewFanofCancun
If you bring the gear, yes.
It is not provided otherwise.
Not a good beach for snorkeling anyway.

There should be vegetarian options at the restaurants. It is recommended you put a request in for any food allergies/preferences at the time of booking so the hotel is aware.

Yes. so many salad , vegetable and fruit options you will not have a problem

We have multiple people with food allergies and one vegetarian. Everything is clearly labeled and identifies vegan and gluten free options. For waitstaff meals they ask about any allergies before the meal.

St. Louis
These things are included as part of the all-inclusive, however restrictions may apply, for a full breakdown of the policy on this, please contact the resort directly.
JeannieCC
No, not included free. For additional costs, like most hotels.
NewJerseyGirl
Kayaking, wind surfing, catamarans, pedal boats are free across the street at aquaworld, but you can only choose 1/day. Windsurfing/catamarans require fee to teach beginners. Snorkeling is free.
Delawarean
We booked a speed boat excursion through the resort, but still had to take public transportation to the offsite location. We got there and realized we paid almost 3 times the amount we could have paid if we had just come straight there and booked through them. Lesson learned.
Laydey
I just got back. They are included but you do it in the lagoon at a place across from the hotel. You don't do these in the ocean.
