Beautiful resort awful food !

We just came back yesterday from our trip we were there for 5 days hotel overall is clean and beautiful. Front desk service was awful and rude we didn’t get the room we reserved. Only gave us a king size bed with no other choice. Food was my least favorite thing here . Staff at restaurant were so nice and really take care of you . Christian at the beach bar was awesome and really made our stay better. Most restaurant and front bar drinks taste like juice no liquor. Paying for WiFi sucks Especially when it never works !! Overall we got thru it nice cheap vacation but definitely would go back to Cancun but would not stay here again

Best time ever

This was my 28 years anniversary trip. Best time ever. I work in the construction industry. There is so much work. I had to force myself to take a vacation. I'm so glad we took this one. We did a different Excursion everyday. Had so much fun. And the people were very friendly. Thumbs up. Only had one problem and that was when it was time to go back to the airport. No one told me that you had to make reservations to be picked up. I paid to be picked up to and from. So you would think that that would have all my info. My flight was leaving at 2:30 . I went to the both at 9:00 am. And the lady argued with me telling me that I should have called for a ride 24 hours ago. Lady it's 9:00 and my plane doesn't leave till 2:30. It's a 35 minute drive to the airport. So after arguing with her. I just took a cab. So I lost the transportation money. But the funny we had . Nothing could spoil it.

Overall, my bestfriend and I had a great experience at Occidental Costa Cancún. The rooms were comfortable and extremely clean (cleaning service came daily), the service was AMAZING (Alfredo Lopez & Leonardo Vazquez were our favorites, we loved them!), and the resort had many activities going on through the day. The dining options were pretty good, we weren’t too “wowed” by any of the restaurants on the resorts but the food was okay. I definitely would recommend the crab cakes at the Seafood restaurant. The resort was kinda of small which was a good and bad thing. It was good because you got to meet people easily and make friends, the bad side was that there wasn’t as much action as some of the other resorts. The only cons about the resort was that the beach is pretty small and our shower drained tremendously slow after each use so you had to wait a while after the person before you showered so you weren’t showering in their water. Also, an FYI is that the telephone in the room costs to use, even if it’s a local number in Mexico, we didn’t know that until we checked out and was charged for calling our travel guide. Other than that, it was a great experience and we would definitely come back!

Occidental Costa Cancun

The beach is beautiful, I’m not a pool person but those who used it seemed to really enjoy it daily. The receptionist are mostly moody and have very little care for what customers need. It was like pulling tooth for everything with all of them evening and morning shift. The concierge at the fish and Italian restaurants is horrible!! He is verbally abusive and rude in his delivery of seating availablility. We went to an all day activity and came back 20 minutes late to our dinner reservation and he looked at the ticket without knowledge (which was given later to no avail) he refused to seat us telling us come back 1 1/2 hours later to check if there’s any opens! The buffet staff was amazing!! They were polite, kind, respectful and more! The rooms were normal as expected. The hotel expects customers to purchase WIFI at a whopping price per device! I’m used to having WiFi as a part of my hotel package. That’s like asking me to pay for television services at an all inclusive hotel, which it is all inclusive!!I will not be staying here on my next trip.
