Plunge right into the deep-end of fun at this escape-haven that is only for adults 21 years and older. Mixin', minglin', day drinkin' - this beachy vacay sounds like the perfect way to really let loose and unwind. And, Grand Oasis Sens knows how to keep the party going with entertainment throughout the day and night, a hip and happening nightclub, themed parties, but also plenty of opportunities to detox at the spa or sip cocktails at the swim-up bar. Go ahead. Grab a cocktail and let's get this party started.

Mostly Great!
We upgraded to the Sian Ka'an Club which which seemed to be worth it, except sometimes I felt anyone could get a cocktail in the premium bars for a tip. Never had to wait in line for a cocktail though & had the best Margaritas ever! The Private Check In was good once we were assertive about having upgraded. Our room was clean but very dated - loved the location & set up of it though., Broken coffee pot - took 4 requests & 4 days for replacement. Bad pillows. Mini bar was restocked daily the first 4 days but not after even with requests. NOTE: being a club member you still must wait in line to make dinner reservations, request more hangers (which never arrived after 2 requests), get a beach bag & robes that were suppose to be in your room, reserve a Bali Bed on the beach, etc., which took a half hour to 45 mins in line. Didn't seem like VIP treatment to me. Staff in that area wasn't forthcoming with details of the Sian Ka'an benefits - good thing I asked many questions of other guests & the staff. BTW, as a benefit you go to a dinner show on Tues night included at another Grand Oasis, but we weren't told this at first - had to stand in line another time to inquire. Lobby entertainment was great on several evenings & show in Disco was pretty good - not a bunch of audience participation stuff! Food & service at Benazuza, Sakura Sunset, The Box and Cayeyes was EXCELLENT. However very gourmet. If you are a meat & potatoes or traditional foodie, you may not appreciate the presentation & taste in these places. Morning buffet was great & so was the Italian Rest, along with outside lunch places. Wish we would have been made aware ahead of time that the Black Hole Rest was closed for remodeling. Pools & beach were great - foam party was fun! NOTE: there are a lot of stairs in this resort, especially in the pool & beach areas. Not a great place for the elderly or people with knee problems.Overall great place to stay!
We stayed here for a week last year and had a blast. This year there are many cut backs in the hotel and service - I don’t think we will be coming back it was also more money than last year so not very “cheap Caribbean “ overall disappointing
This might not be the place for you...This is what the MANAGER stated to me upon arrival. When checking in, Jazmin (lovely very friendly young lady) informed us that for $18 more per day we could upgrade our services to premium liquor and access to all restaurants. We usually stay in premium suites but since this was spur of the moment for Valentine's Day we just wanted to be in the sun and didn't pay for all the bells and whistles. When Jazmin told us this we decided to upgrade..then she told us that we had to stay 5 nights in order to take advantage of this deal. Well we were only there for 4 nights so I didn't understand the offer. We asked to speak to a manager to see if we could PAY the money and get the services. When Jesenia, the manager started talking to us she was rude at the onset of the conversation. We were not asking for a room upgrade or for anything free, we were asking to pay for an offered deal. When she told us this might not be the place for us I was taken aback.. excuse me??!! What do you mean? She stated that people save up for an entire year to visit their property. So you're being rude to us because we didn't have to save up for a year? After she saw my disgust she offered to go ahead and let us pay..too late. We were not giving them any more money. We arrived early and check in time is at 3pm- room not ready until 4pm. Our luggage sat outside in the rain until 8pm when we went to the room to shower for dinner. I went in search of it to find out why it was not delivered to the room and they stated you have to be in the room for luggage to be delivered...never heard of that. We are at a resort for fun...why would we be sitting in the room? So here is my review:
If you want privacy-not the place for you. The walls are paper thin. We heard our neighbors use the restroom and throw up all night.
If you are looking for activities- not the place for you. It rained the first 2 days and there was nothing to do except watch a 20 minute show every evening in the lobby or fight for the one pool table available. They did have a pole dancing class (unadvertised) and I can't remember the instructor's name, but she was phenomenal.
If you are looking for great food- not the place for you. They boast 12 restaurants (there are 8 and they are not all available and some open only on certain days or hours. So prepare to eat pizza, horrible mexican or a cold mediocre buffet all day.)
If you are looking for great drinks-not the place for you. They restock the fridge every other day with 6 bottles of water, 2 beers, 2 cokes and 2 diet cokes. This is for 2 people. I guess they expect you to share a beer a day.
Looking for a cleaned room daily? You guessed it...not the place for you. A towel stayed on the floor for 2 days, a button sat on the counter since before we got there (probably still there). Floors are not mopped. They haphazardly throw you towels in the room and make the bed. That. Is. All.
So Jesenia at first I was offended by your comment-but turns out you were right. THIS WAS NOT THE PLACE FOR ME OR ANYONE ELSE. I will never return to this hotel.
The front staff when you check in, are not pleasant people. Management was very rude to us because we had some question, we wanted answer.
The food staff and Bar staff were excellent. the food was good. the drinks were good if you tipped you got top shelf.
The pool was getting dirty in the middle of the week. the beach was great. I don’t think I would go back. I would pay a little more money and stay at a five star.
The rooms out dated curtains were stained the toilet was coming off the floor, tile was coming up off the floor, the tb and shower, had mildew in it, and the room was musty because of the AC.

Whats the difference between sunset and ocean view room?11 answers
Does sunset room not have ocean view?
6 years, 83 months ago
Nancy
The Grand Sunset and Grand Ocean are two room categories which are located in separate sections within the resort.
MariaCC
The sunset rooms are on the west side of the building, you don't see the ocean. We didn't send much time in the room so it didn't matter to us.
Cato125
Sunset view does NOT have the best view of the ocean and it faces other properties, not Oasis Sens pool and amentities.
north1
The Sunset room overlooks the bay and the ocean view faces the hotel's beach. No real difference between the size.
nbkeith
The sunset rooms have a view of the Lagoon and the sun while it is setting. The ocean view rooms have a view of the ocean and the sun as it is rising.
LoneTraveler
I dont know
RENEESHAWN
The sun rises on the ocean view facing rooms and sets on the lagoon facing rooms.
JaiD
Sunset rooms have a lagoon view but no ocean view.
TwoTravelers
It faces the lagoon, which could be considered a lake to some people. It's pretty large. You can see the sun rise if you don't get an ocean view room, but we did have one and loved it.
MultiCultiGurus
Sunset rooms face the lagoon, or water inlet in the back of the property. The ocean view rooms are in the front. We had ocean view, but I am sure the other view is nice too.
DB71
Sun rises in the east sets in the west. Ocean rooms face east sunset face west. Pick ocean view!
AHammer
No it does not. The sunset rooms are on the back of the resort (not facing the ocean) but it does overlook a little water way/bay.

Where is this hotel or what hotel is it near in Cancun?11 answers
6 years, 80 months ago
Home
The resort is located 9 miles away from Cancun International Airport(CUN) and 13 miles from downtown Cancun.
JanelCC
You can look online at the cancun hotel map. Oasis Sens is very close to the airport and is one of the first hotels. Very quick arrival time, and very safe.
nbkeith
It is located on Riviera Maya.
LoneTraveler
the hotel is close to the airport.....but far from downtown..the hotel is on a steep hill, so if you are going up and down the hill it will be a workout....the nearest hotel is the BelAir
MonaThen
Oasis grand iberostar club med bout 20 min frm the airport
RENEESHAWN
The hotel is about a 10 minutes drive from the airport, and a 20 minute drive into cancun
michelleheath
The hotel is in the hotel zone on the Cancun strip at km 19.5, near the south end.
TwoTravelers
Its on the hotel row in the beginning part. Excellent location.
Debuny
It's in the hotel zone, close to the airport. Good thing is you will be dropped off first if you do shared rides from the airport or tours. :-) It's not near the downtown area, but you can take a $1 bus ride to get there or a taxi. This hotel also offers cars for you to rent if you want to travel out, but you won't need to leave. They offer so much for you.
MultiCultiGurus
It's in the 'hotel zone' strip. It's close to the airport (about 10 min by car) and about 15 min bus ride to d'town Cancun. Great location on the beach.
DB71
In the hotel zone, Labeled on google maps as "Oasis sens del mar". Next to crown Paradise club cancun.

How does the all-inclusive work?11 answers
Does the hotel limit meals and drinks with vouchers? Are spirit drinks included?
6 years, 73 months ago
ADM
Food and Drinks ( Alcoholic and Nonalcoholic) are included in the the all inclusive, however some dining restrictions may apply. Please check with the front desk for details
CaitlinCC
most everything is included except spa and specialty restaurants. Spirits and wine are included. Sometimes up charge for premiums.
Beachqueen
No limit on anything...everything including alcohol is included.
MonaThen
No limit on food an drinks spirits included and no vouchers required. They put a band around ur wrist
RENEESHAWN
No limits. All you can eat and drink while the restaurants and bars are open.
JaiD
They take your room number at breakfast and dinner, but there are no vouchers. Lunch is completely unsupervised. Spirit drinks are included as long as you're fine with well liquor
TwoTravelers
Everything is included, all food, all spirit drinks, everything in mini bar. Room service food is free, but they charge a surcharge for deliery, so tech not free
azthatch
No limitations on meals or drinks. For speciality restaurants you need to make a reservations, those are also free. Once you reach the hotel they will put a band on your hand which entitles you to everything.
Debuny
There is no limit on drinks or food and they do not give out vouchers. You wear a bracelet that shows that you are at the hotel. The only limit is at the fine dining restaurants. They do not take walk-ins and you have to make a reservation earlier in the day. The menu is included, but they do have some premium items that you can purchase like steaks or seafood for a nominal charge. There are nine restaurants and I think I was only able to try 7 of them.
ImaHappyCamper
You can eat and drink as MUCH AS YOU WANT. It's truly great. even when the restaurant doesn't have a buffet you can order anything from the a la carte menus. Just make sure to tip the servers. They work very hard and long hours.
MultiCultiGurus
All inclusive gets you well/rail to mid range spirits. Premium you must pay extra for. Beer is kegged Dos XX. They use a wrist band system to confirm you are all inclusive. 7 restaurants in the resort, all included except for things like lobster steak etc.. those are upcharge.
AHammer
Are all restaurants part of the all inclusive package.11 answers
Are there out of pocket charges for some restaurants.
5 years, 72 months ago
Michigan.
More often there are out of pocket expenses for specific items (i.e. filet, lobster, etc). However, there are some dining restrictions at this resort and we recommend speaking with the front desk upon arrival to confirm these restrictions.
LaurenCC
Yes, they have a section on the menu for the good food and you pay out of pocket.
lgraham
No out of pocket charges..everything is included , even the alcohol...you will have to leave tips for the waiters like a dollar...not a lot
MonaThen
Yes - be carefull they say 9 restaurants but they are accounting for the snack places. Just got back, this place was very disapointing and not what it seems like on the site.
ronnieb
Yes, the best restaurant on site is not included in the all inclusive price
Melvano
Yes
RENEESHAWN
Yes,there are hidden charges! Their main restaurant is like $75 a person! Wine and drinks are extra at some places too! And the drinks i don`t believe had any alchahol! We actually went and bought boos downtown for our room!
Travelcpl
All restaurants are included *except* Benazuza which is extra for normal guests. VIP reservations include one free dinner per person at Benazuza.
TwoTravelers
Yes
Cindies
All except one, which is a fancy, kind of place. VIP package get one dinner there for free
azthatch
There are optional out of pocket charges, but we never once did an upgraded meal. The only place we spent money was the gift shop and tips for bartenders, maids, etc. They will try to get you to eat at the "fine dining" place which will cost money but other we were there with said it wasnt worth it.

RENEESHAWN
Yes. Small gym in a separate hut. No free weights, all machines.
JaiD
we were there for a week and never found the gym
TwoTravelers
No, the gym is TERRIBLE and SUPER small. Not worth the look, run outside if you want cardio.
SSK23
Yes but you won't want to use them there very out of date and rusted but come on your vacation it's a awesome place overall
jg9212
The "gym" is not that great. they have one treadmill, but if you want cardio, go swimming in the ocean. They have a machine for your back and your arms and legs. Nothing for your chest. It needs to be updated. It's also outdoors. so you will sweat a lot. Just do push ups.
MultiCultiGurus
yes

there are about 6 older weight machines and one treadmill.

If you're looking for something extravagant, hip and a little naughty, then you'll definitely want to chill out at the LGBT-friendly Oasis Sens.
AlixCC
No. It's not. They just prefer not to have children at the resort.

one female was topless
edandvic
It is a tops optional resort and gay friendly. I just got back from there and I was there with my boyfriend ... There really isnt many people that acutually remove their tops ... I only saw 4 people the entire time I was there actually go topless. Its an adult only resort and very clean. I just got back from there this past Sunday.

Not officially but they were a few topless ladies by the pool and the beach. No one complained:-)

Has Oasis Sens air conditioning been fixed ?10 answers
Due to the many reviews on this site I am Leary to book this hotel because of all the comments made about how the air does not work in many of the rooms, and the staff did nothing to make them comfortable during there stay. I have asthma and that would be a problem for me if it stayed this hot in the room for our complete stay.
4 years, 53 months ago
DJ
We are not aware of any A/C troubles at this time. Also, we could find no mention of travelers having problems with their A/C on the most recent reviews on Trip Advisor.
CCGreg
I just returned and I can tell you that the a/c in our room was not COOL!! However, I did find one couple that said their room was cool and they were the only ones.......Even the restaurants are hot; to were you eat and get out.
Jammy
Our room barely had AC blowing. It wasn't comfortable enough.
cne54
I'll be honest, I've been in Cancun dozens of times and the A/C is barely there. It's great when you are outside and the temps are 100'F and 90% humidity but your room will probably be in the mid 70s.
The Sens is just the same. I slept pretty well but the room was cool not cold.
plcarty
i just returned from Cancun two days ago (5/25/2016) and it was still out. there are many reasons not to stay here, the air conditioning is probably the least concerning.
baileyaye
I just got back from staying there from June 25-29 and it wasn't fixed yet
Lynn36
Our air worked great on 8thfloor
Chass
I GUESS I WAS LUCKY... NO PROBLEM WITH MY AC.
I heard some clients complaining though. Guess I just got real lucky.
DeeJay12
I just got back from this resort last week. I put my AC to 50 degrees and ended up sweating every night. The air comes out, it's just not cold.
Jmazz
I have asthma, & had some problems with the air being heavy causing my some shortness of breath so I had to use my MDI's. We were able to keep our room cool with the complimentary fan the front desk gave us to use.

Does resort have daily activities and have nightly entertainment?5 answers
Have adult games, fun activities, band, music?
4 years, 49 months ago
Kris
Yes, Oasis resort have a great entertainment program. There are daily activities around the pool, and at night there are plenty of bars, so you are able to mingle with other guests. Access is included to the Up and Down disco at the Grand Oasis Cancun (two miles away) which is open nightly (except Saturday) and is the host of the famous Foam Party on Thursday night.
KristenCC
They give you a calendar when you check in with all the activities going on while you are there. They had pool volleyball and games going on most of the day and at night they have music out by the pool and a nightclub.

Does the resort go dead at a certain hour? Is there a resort one would recommend for great nightlife and entertainment? Will be traveling as an all girls group.
3 years, 47 months ago
Nicky
Oasis Sens have a few bars and lounges open until about Midnight or 1am. But being in Cancun, you are close to all the bars and clubs they have to offer, and are a quick cab ride away.
KristenCC
go to grand oasis cancun or oasis pyramid, grand oasis sens dance club is literally dead
C0ll
The resort is pretty dead after midnight.
Mtdew
We was a group of 4 girls in this trip. I do not recommend this hotel if you want to party!!! It's more of a relaxing hotel for couples. They're sister hotel the Grand Oasis cancun we got to go there for a day and it was amazing! Tons of restaurants 3 or 4 night clubs and the pool party was amazing!
Boogie813
This resort is not the best option for a group of girls looking for a great nightlife and entertainment. Secrets The Vine is an excellent choice (Adults Only), the Rui, Dreams Resort and Temptations if your into kinky fun

Wanting a nice room
By the description, this would be one or the other. A request can be placed to specify which one is preferred but would not be a guarantee.
CCGreg
You will only get either the plunge pool or the hot tub. The patio is separated from the others by a short wall, They can see you and you them. We spent most of our time by the pools or in town.
Mtdew
We had a small pool with jets on the balcony and then a nice tub in the bathroom. Its sorta private. You can look over the edge and see others but they are not connected.
mleoesch
you will get one or the other. you don't get to choose. and it's semi private. you can see and be seen by everyone.
baileyaye
You will only have one of them. I recommend going for the Jacuzzi, they only have them on the 9th floor and they are more updated rooms.
sebas095
You will get one or the other. You can request the one that want and hope for the best
Lynn36
I believe just one... I had the plunge pool.
AWESOMEEEEE!!!
Maybe if you select a suite you will receive both. Not sure. You will have to ask the hotel.
DeeJay12
I didn't see any with jacuzzis. The plunge pool is unusable cuz it's very cold. But it is only for you.
Pedrock
No, one or the other and from what I could tell you can't pick which you get. They are private in the sense that they're only for your use, but other people can see you. There's a fence separating you from neighbors but unless you're on the top floor plenty of people will have a view of you.

I saw plunge pools on your personal balcony but i did not see a jacuzzi.

They have a policy for young travelers and I just want to know how strict they are. My husband and I are 24 and would like to stay here for our trip but I don't know if they will accept us. How strict are they?

Their policy is year round and they may deny your reservation or charge you a fee to check-in. If you have any further questions or need help booking, please call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC

Gopackers2017
This is an Adults only resort. I don't know for sure, but if 18 y/o's can drink in their country, I would think they consider 18 to be an adult.

I want to go in Jan. for my birthday with a couple of my friends. When I mean about a couple. I invited a total of 13 people and for now its 8 official yes's that'll be attending the weekend here. We were wondering if there are suites or just rooms with double beds or one king? Thank you
2 years, 28 months ago

They differ. There are suites/pent house.
DeeJay12
I just got back , looks like there is a variety of " rooms". Ask one of the folks when you reserve . I think there probably are , if not just get rooms together .
Should be. Easy to do at this time of year .
Enjoy !!!
Ask about age restrictions ... You may or may not get to have an 18 y. O. Ask.
Odiebird
Both, but beware, they will put 2 people in a king bed room and bring in a roll away bed before giving you double beds.

What the temperature in January?5 answers
I wonder the temperature in January. How to dress. Are all the pool open?
2 years, 27 months ago
Vanna
The average high temperature in January is around 82 F. The average low is around 70 F.
CCGreg
We were in Cancun in early January and the weather was in the high 70s to low 80s the whole time. The pools were open and everything was up and running. It was pretty windy, but you'd be fine to pack normal tropical weather clothes and maybe a light jacket for the evening.
Honeymooners2017
Temp . Runs in low 80's. Kinda normal for this area.
Yep , all pools are open but you need to be from Canada to enjoy the " cooool " water .
Matter of fact, the ocean was a tad warmer than the pool .
All very useable .
Odiebird
low 80's with some rain, sometimes high 70's and chance of tropical storms.

The waters are pretty rough, the surge is always high according to the hotel staff but I still swam in it and had a great time. There were a lot of people in the ocean but the lifeguard did not let people go very far.

The water was a bit rough .
The lifeguards that work there will pull everybody back when it gets too rough .
Loads of fun we had !!

We could not swim in the ocean. The water was very rough and it was a red flag day everyday. Plus the beach is dirty.

Best Night Life5 answers
How is the night life at this resort, much to do as far as a large group to hang out like club (dancing) or shows, would like to know about both?
2 years, 24 months ago
Kentucky
Please contact the resort for the most recent entertainment schedule. They do have a nightclub on site.
StevieCC
Have nightly shows and entertainment. A nightclub is there also but mostly house/techno type muisc.
richiec71
We had a group of 12 so we had a good time regardless but there is zero nightlife at this hotel. Your only option is the lobby bar which closes at 11. The is a lame "night club" there but it smelled like vomit. There was a show there one night but its so small hardly any guests could go to it. One night there was music outside. We were VERY disappointed with the lack of nightlife here. We will not be back
nurseJen
The bars close early at the hotel (12:00). You have to travel outside the hotel for night life.
Giraffe53
This is very much a party atmosphere. While we were there, there was a lot of night time activities like bands playing in the lobby, and they had a pool party one night as well. It would be enjoyable for a group of people. There is also a night club in the resort where there are dancers

Is there a parking area for my car rental? Any fee?5 answers

Detroit, MI
Please check with the resort directly about parking fees. If you have any further questions, you may contact the resort directly or call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC
Yes there is. Parking is free - No valet, you park on your own on the ramp.
Aldana
Yes free, but parking is limited. Smart cars are available on site for $8 US/day if you are a Sian Ki'an Club client or $58/day if you are not.
TheJMan
I believe so but the resort offers you a free rental for any day of your choosing (it’s a smart car) you jus have to pay $8 for the insurance
qclark1118
Yes there was . I do not know if there is a fee
SteveMan
There is parking but i do not know about a fee. They offer smart cars for rent from the hotel if you want to use that instead of renting one at the airport.

LGBTQ Friendly?5 answers
Does anyone know what the ratio of LGBTQ guests and Straight guests happen to be on average?
1 year, 23 months ago
Murfreesboro,TN
This tends to vary and is unfortunately not something that can be easily measured. Overall, the Grand Oasis Sens prides itself in being LGBT friendly, however.
JeannieCC
My sister and I are gay, our other brother was straight. There were not a whole bunch of gay people around, but we were welcomed and well received at every venue.
Geerod
There were Gay couples there. Not sure about transgender. As far as percentage maybe 5% although I'm not overly observant. I noticed a few couples.
Giraffe53
me and my boyfriend went in may 2017 and there was a LGBTQ friendly presence there
AKhairi
I don't know the ratio but I will say that there were several LGBTQ guests staying there, and as far as I observed they were treated just the same as straight guests.

I know what has gluten, but was wondering if the menus are marked in any way to avoid issues with contaminations or unknown ingredients?
1 year, 23 months ago
Ella
Sorry. I was looking, so I did not notice.
Geerod
Sorry, I was not looking for gluten-free items on any of the menus, since I do not have Celiac's disease. I did not notice if they were posted or not, since I was not really looking for that. Perhaps an email to customer service at the hotel could be of more help.
Geerod
Please let the front desk know upon arrival. And notify the restaurants so they can be aware of the allergy. Please check with the resort directly for the most up to date information regarding food selection. If you have any further questions, you may contact the resort directly or call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.

Yes, you do have access, however this is at the resort's discretion and may not always be available. You would need to get a day pass (check with the concierge) to hang out at one of the neighboring Oasis resorts.
JeannieCC
you can do anything you want, you might need money though.
stwo
Yes, they do not provide transportation between the properties though. It is a short bus ride apart
Wanderlust212
Yes, but you have to go during the times they specify. We wanted to go try our luck at their casino resort one night, and they said, you can only go between 9am and 4pm... Those are beach hours? Why wouldn't you not want to show me your other resorts anytime?

Yes! But you have to pay for transportation to them

You must seek special written permission for them to come. Cheap Carribean assisted us with that for our 19 year old. Be aware that this resort has topless sunbathing, free alcohol in the all inclusive package, and encourages togetherness and passion, love and romance by all couples. Some couples are much more comfortable about public displays than others. ;)

No. They told us over there that CheapCaribbean has to indicate it in the reservation. So, don't make the same mistake I did, and assume it was going to be double bed. Call CheapCaribbean and make them, what they call it a "Special Request".
