DO NOT SELL THIS HOTEL
This got to be the worst hotel in the world. Their staff are rude, lazy and unprofessional. Please remove them from your website.
The beach is great. A little windy and wavy but clean . We upgraded to black bracelet and that was a very good decision. It is a big party resort but you can find quiet places. Tennis court was a big disappointment . We have been told to leave the court or pay for lights. We were waiting for more than an hour for non resort guests to finish their tournament. But Francisco and Louise where great.
Went second time this year. First in June was family trip then we went for our anniversary
It was great experience from checking to check out
David checked us in he is very personable and gives you best customer service
Everyone else was good too and always provided great customer service
Although it was relaxing not really recommend for individuals with handicaps (bad legs). A lot of steps up and around beach and the ramps over the pool tended to get slippery. It was very spread out and it took a day or 2 to get it figured out. Wasn't really any organized fun events in the resort. The views were beautiful and a nice place to sit back and relax.

Where are the SENS VIP rooms located? Will I get a black bracelet if I paid for sens vip all inclusive?
7 years, 95 months ago
Michaela77
These rooms have a view of the Caribbean Sea or the Nichupte Lagoon.
KellyCC
THE VIP ROOM IS LOCATED IN THE MAIN LOBBY ANYONE WITH A BLACK BRACELET IS ALLOWED THERE
SKITTLES1
Not sure about SENS, but you get the black bracelet at the Grand Oasis Cancun and can use it at the SENS. There are places at the Grand Oasis that only black bracelet wearers can get in.

Student/Youth Policy4 answers
I keep seeing this Student/Youth Policy at different resorts and am slightly confused on the policy...my boyfriend and I are planning a romantic, fun get away to Mexico...this is not a spring break trip and we are travelling just us 2. However we are 22 and 23 years old.. does this mean we can't stay here or is it just large groups of under 25 year olds?
7 years, 93 months ago
minnesnowta
For any resort that states a student/youth policy, even if there are only 2 travelers checking into the resort, if you do not meet the minimum age set by the resort, they reserve the right to cancel your reservation prior to travel, or reserve the right to deny you check-in at the resort.
KristinCC
I just came back from Grand Oasis Cancun and we did not have to pay the $25. We are both 24 years of age. I believe it is only during certain times of the year you need to pay that fee.
cam11616
I'm not sure about that one. I didn't see any policies concerning that, but then again I'm 44. I did see a lot of young people that didn't appear to be with their parents. I would think that you are ok, but one phone call to the resort should confirm that.
theebomb405
Yes you can stay here, BUT make sure you book in the GRAND OASIS where it's quieter (try to request the Paramid building). The other package such as regular Oasis attracts the crazy, partying springbreakers.

Unfortunately, we are not advised what color bracelet will be distributed at the resort.
MariaCC
You would need to book 'Grand Oasis' rather than just the 'oasis'
Holdoll19
yes- they give you a black bracelet so they know you are all inclusive
monag
If you booked the Grand Oasis you will get a black band. You can go VIP but from what I could see while at the resort it was not worth it.
trailbosss
Grand Oasis is the only place you want to stay at at this resort. It's all inclusive with a black bracelet given for full assess to every restaurant on resort (where Oasis you only have assess to 3 restaurants). Also being extremely respectful to staff gets you great things like walking up to 3 different restaurants on 3 different nights without reservations and getting seated. Tipping is appreciated and goes along way.
kwa1976
Black bracelet is for Grand Oasis. Oasis gets purple one and not everything is all inclusive for them. Although you pay extra for premium alcohol.
Mool
I had a black bracelet which meant it was all inclusive.
Traveler41
the black bracelet allows you access into the v.i.p lounge located on the lobby floor which has a late night bar,and about 2 restaurants that you wouldnt be able to get into with standard room purple bracelet....

what kind of beer is served as part of the all-inclusive?6 answers
7 years, 86 months ago
OH
While specific brands may vary, a selection of domestic (Mexican) and select international alcoholic beverages are available.
KateHCC
There were mini fridges in the room as part of the "all inclusive" resort they claim to be with 2 Sol beers when we arrived. We called for room service for more, to be told we were only allowed 2 beers per day in the room......All inclusive? I don't think so.....MOON PALACE all the way, any PALACE resort for that matter.

Dos X and SOLE? very good, and cold, on tap!

SOL, and DOS Equix.
JTKI
Corona and Dos XX. Ran out of Corona while there. Not a big beer drinker but overall not bad.

They have Sol in-room for you, if you leave a note they will leave more Beer and less Soda. ;)

Does the hotel offer a free shuttle to/from the airport?6 answers
Also, is the beer in bottles or cups?
7 years, 85 months ago
Bonni ;-)
Airport transfers are not included. The hotel is 25 minutes from Cancun International Airport
KellyCC
No free shuttle, i advise you book the round trip hotel transfer thru cheapcaribbean.com and no taxi's allowed to wait at the airport. And the beer comes in cups, no bottles. If they see you with a bottle, they bring you a plastic cup. Probly so all the drunks dont cut themself with the glass lol
Handro214
If you choose you can buy the transfers or purchase there. Also, the beer and drinks are served in cups.
Traveler41
No free ride and everything is in plastic cups.
theebomb405
No to the shuttle question. ? for the beer.

The beer is served in cups!

What cocktails are included with the grand oasis all inclusive?6 answers
7 years, 85 months ago
Ny
Unlimited domestic and select international alcoholic beverages, including house wines.
KellyCC
They had captain morgan but it did not taste like captain. Who knows what they put in the bottle. And that was only available at the bar by the beach or pool, we did not see it anywhere else. Lets just say, complete disappointment on the drinks. Oh, they offered the drink of the day, which was an amaretto stone sour or an electric lemonade, but I remember when I was 18 at a party and was afraid to drink a real man's drink.

ALL
Tony1970
Most are included with the exception of top shelf, Red Bull and a few others.

Everything that you can think of! They aren't loaded with alcohol, but they will give you as much as you want in a drink and will give you straight shots also.

All cocktails/beer/wine are included however it is all 3rd shelf (very watered down)

6 years, 84 months ago

For the specific pricing for your travel dates and departure city, you would be best to enter all of oyur travel information into our system and it will quote you the most up to date pricing. Transfers are not included but you can add them to your reservation for an additional cost. For further information on exactly what is included with your reservation/all-inclusive package, please check the resort's page on our web site as it will list all of the inclusions.
KristinCC
I didn't know about the upgrade to the "Grand" status but it was well worth it for $115 for three people. It allowed us to use all the services and eat at all the locations.
There is a long wait to book your reservation for any of the good, inclusive restaurants so make sure you go early and do it at least a day in advance.
drjen
Didn't see any topless women for sure. You get to go to all of the places at this resort and you can even go to places at the sister resort. We didn't even leave this one. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Airport shuttle is extra, but cheap and available online thru CC.com
theebomb405
Only the GRAND Oasis offers unlimited access to ALL of the bars and restaurants (17 restaurants - although some are actually snack bars). Airport transfers cost extra through Cheap Caribbean. We paid for private transfers so we didn't have to make stops at other hotels ($25 per person - well worth the $). Beach was beautiful. I think topless is allowed on all public bbeaches in Mexico, although I didn't see anyone topless on this trip.
wlmich
Cheap Caribbean utilizes Olympus Tours. Yes, transportation to and from the hotel is included in your package. As a single traveler, I am always concerned with my safety. When I exited the airport, Olympus Tours - Bright Orange Vest- were right there waiting. I did not have to find them they were literally calling my name. There are no restrictions to any restaurant on the premises. If you want to have a quiet dinner for two you simply make a reservation. There are so many buffet style restaurants located in the main pyramid and all over the grounds, you won't want to bother. The beaches are vast, clean, quiet, safe and secure. You can sun bath topless but keep in mind children are present.
Wendellbrnx
if you book the GRAND OASIS you have access to all the other oasis restaurants and pools and everything else they give you a black bracelet, but if you book with the other oasis hotel that is not the grand then you have restrictions. you have to make reservations to restaurants the day before and you have i think 18 to choose from and you can make as many reservations as you want i made 3 in one day :) i like to see what they have to offer
the food is actually pretty good but small portions but you can order more than one plate
the beaches are beautiful but i didn't see topless
i included the transportation in my package at the end before i paid it will ask you if you need transport and it will give you prices i think its like 40$ pp

Is there an Adult Pool or section?7 answers
Is there an adult pool or section either at the pool or on the beach? and can you go topless?
6 years, 84 months ago
Utah, Usa
This resort does not have any adults only sections and typically in this case topless sunbathing is not allowed but please check with the hotel upon arrival.
KellyCC
There is an area where there are mainly college kids. The other side has families. I do not know if there is a topless beach but there was a topless sunbather laying by the pool that was not bothered.
MichaelMI
Did not see anyone topless the week we were there (1-24 to 1-31) The pool is so massive kids are no problem. Facing the ocean from the main building the left is the younger, louder, noisy side. Right is more subdued
OddJobAl
There are a few different pool areas. One pool area caters more to a younger adult crowd -- DJ, loud music, swim up bar. The pool area where we spent our time was a bit older, but also there were children as well. Swim up bar.
Jake65
The pool is normally open to all kids and adults.
So there is no separation as to an adults only section.
Berto
There is a "party section" for the younger crowd if you want to call it that and I did see one person topless at the beach although I cannot say I know if it was actually topless.
Traveler41
On the Grand side, there are families and children. Over on the Oasis side I did see a few people topless but am not sure if it is actually allowed.

we want to book the all inclusive with oasis grand and we want access to everywhere; from what i'm reading on these pages i need a black bracelet for that. i wasnt sure if that just came with the oasis grand or if it is something extra
6 years, 83 months ago

Booking at a Grand Oasis, rather than an Oasis, property will allow for more access to the amenities the resort offers; however, we recommend speaking with the resort directly to confirm the color they use for each section and if this varies between the room category.
LaurenCC
It comes automatically when you choose Grand category of hotel stay. Not included in regular Oasis stay but you can upgrade once you arrive if you didn't book in Grand Catagory.

What's the difference in the rooms between the Beach front room & the Pyramid? I understand the Pyramid is in a different building but what else?7 answers
6 years, 83 months ago
pg
Each room category displayed on our website contains a link which offers further information of that specific category's description.
MariaCC
The beach front rooms in the building closer to the ocean are a couple hundred feet closer to the water and look right onto the beach and the sea.
Cancunster
Pyramid rooms are about 35% bigger but they do not offer the same view as the towers 1 and 3. If you are a party person, tower 1 is for you as it is near all the stage and music late at night. If you are looking for a quiet room, tower 3 is for you. The puramid tower is oce but is ocean view to the best where towers 1 and 3 offer smaller rooms but are truly real beachfront and not only beach view.
Nathahari
The pyramid rooms are bigger and newer. The ocean front rooms are small, but the view is wonderful.
Lovethesand
I think the buildings that house the beach front rooms are quieter. I didn't stay in the pyramid (I had beach front) but they do shows there at night and it got very hot and was loud when they were performing. A lot of spring breakers might also stay in the pyramid but I can't confirm that based on my stay.
jgrace31
The pyramids rooms are 30 times better
Ania12
Beach front hotels are full of low budget rooms and are typically located in the noisier area of the hotel.
The pyramid rooms are the more upscale and there are in a central location for all restaurants.
My opinion go with the pyramid hotel rooms, my wife and I went there and we were very please with the service.
Berto
We stayed in the Pyramid. I felt like it was a much farther walk to get to all the activities and there is only one elevator which was on the other side of the hotel and we were on the 5th floor.. After we got to the room I went back and requested a room by the beach but they would not change our room.

CaitlinCC
Your best bet is to add a deep sea fishibg package when you buy your trip. I belive there are several to choose from, and they look fun by the way. If not you will have people at the hotel to book the extras for you. If ordered through CheapCaribbean they set it up with a third party tour group for you and all you need to do is meet with that companies represenative at your hotel. Very easy do do.
Saber39
I just came back from Cancun and went fishing for one of the days. It's usually starts around $100 per person to deep sea fish for 4-6hrs. More hours more money. It's usually cheaper for more people too. We had a family of 6 so we were able to buy out the boat for ourselves for about $520. Be prepared for a very rocking boat. There were big waves. 4 out of the 6 members of my family got seasick within the first hour.

No transportation is provided by the hotel. You can expect to pay about $30 in taxi fare to go from and to come back to the airport. Nath :)

Transfers are additional costs. We paid extra for airport service and nearly didn't make our flight home because they were late.

You need to make your own transportation. I used Olympus Tours
Lovethesand
You can rent a car or taxi or book it before you go with a transport service
Wayne711
There is no ground transportation provided by the hotel. Its best to have this set up before you get to Cancun.

Regular sunsreen is allowed at the resort but biodegradable is required for some of the tours like the eco-parks. We went to RIO SECRETO (underground caves) which was AMAZING. No body lotions, sunscreen, oils etc... are allowed which can harm the envirornment.

Is there shopping around or in this resort?7 answers
Usually some resorts have their own shops or a market place outside. I was wondering if this resort had any?
6 years, 77 months ago
Sabrina
The resort is approximately 30 minutes from the downtown Cancun area.
CoryCC
Yes, Sabrina there is a quaint shop located in the Hotel Atrium but the prices are ridiculous. If you really want to get the most for your money, the shopping area is only a bus ride away. I could not believe it. You catch the bus directly in front of the hotel. You pay $1.00 as you board the bus. The bus #R2 will take you directly to Market Place 28. It's about a 25 minute ride but enjoyable. At 28 Market Place you have several vendors selling everything. If you want to shop, Gucci, Prada or Luis Vuitton there is a upscale mall that prior to Market 28 which is to die for. The return bus runs every hour on the hour and will take you directly back to the hotel. Have a safe trip
Wendellbrnx
Yes there is one store but all is very expensive and the lady who works there is very rude. You can take a local bus or rent a car to go to the mall. Many folks did but I did not care to venture away from the resort.
Rcagg
One shop in hotel and its kind of expensive. A few stores about a block down. Best bet is to take the bus to shopping area. Cost is $1 and gets you there quickly.
Jokristy
not really any shopping at the resort but shopping mall within 5 minutes ride the local bus for a dollar . great deals there
bdaybeachbum2013
There were a few small hotel souvenir shops. We took the bus into town, its only 8 pesos (1$) per person and they will take you any where you want to go. We went shopping in Wal-Mart, market 28, and by Coco Bongos was a lot of nice shops. Some of the buses were air-conditioned too..
FUNINTHESUN21
There are 2 shops @ resort and a marketplace close by (Ride Bus to get there $1 each way).
There are restaurants & XOXO stores within walking distance.

How to avoid waiting in line to check in when you have a VIP check in promise?3 answers
I've waited in line to check in before they noticed we had vip standing.
5 years, 63 months ago
VT
You would need to check with the resort staff or Concierge upon arrival for the VIP check in. This is only available in the PLAYA II Building (closest to beach) and the PYRAMID building.
KristenCC
We got the vip check in, took about 10 minutes, but it didn't seem to be a line at the regular check in either.
jrammel47
Hello, We were there 2 weeks ago. We purchased "The Grand" unfortunately, this limited us on the restaurants/bars we could dine at...we didn't know that when we bought. but, it did provide us access to private VIP check in room and a Consieer for fast/convenient check out. Although, we still had to stand in line with other VIP check in people but it was MUCH FASTER and it was nicer stocked with drinks and little pastries. Good luck, we are not returning. P.S. Make sure your new swipe key cards work. Ours seldom did.

One beer only, they said it was Duos XX but I don't think so, we walked across the street and bought Corona. Next trip I will make sure there is a choice of beers. They do put some in your room, we had 2 Heinekens

The only beer I saw on tap was Dos Equis, if you stay at the grand your minibar will be stocked with Heineken, Sol and Modelo

On the hotel site there is a note that the hotel does not accept travelers under the age of 25, who are traveling without a legal guardian, and if they are there they are required to pay an addition $27/person fee. Does the travel package include these fees?

The hotel will be crazy for spring break. They were guiding a huge stage just for it! Please don't take your parents there during spring break. We found the resort too young and there wasn't any spring breakers yet.

What were the best 'reservation' restaurants on the property?5 answers

One of the most popular restuarants at Grand Oasis is Cocoa Seafood. Yes, all alcoholic beverages are included in the all inclusive pricing.
KristenCC
yes drinks are included beer, wine and margaritas, shots etc.... no top shelf though.... only one restaurant requires res I did not go there so I am not sure how it is... I did not like lunas... the radizzio? was pretty good, go to the market for breakfast
amyss
we never paid for alcohol while we stayed there and drank lots of different drinks.
tburg
All the alcohol was included. They only have one kind of beer, the quality of alcohol was terrible. You need to find good bartenders and tip them. The sushi was great as well as Cocoa, the only restaurant you need reservations for was okay. Overall we found the food to be great, and that is saying something for Mexico
Justgirls
For breakfast a buffet is always the best. Do not eat at the one near the Italian joint.. But the best one is Le Buffet. For lunch you can do the buffet again at Le Buffet, but Hippie Chick is cool and there are a ton of the other restaurants that are good. For dinner our favorite was Cocoa. It was a 5-course meal with your choice of steak fish chicken. It was so good we ate there 2 times. Btw the Cheesecake was the best.
Tennesseetrippin
All drinks are included. There is only one type of beer on tap available (XX lager). They restock your mini fridge with 2 waters and some beer (for free as well). It depends on which tier you have for the restaurants available. We had the Grand but not the Pyramid access. Try to avoid the buffet. HIPPIE CHIC GRILL was okay for lunch (men must wear a tshirt with short or long sleeves to enter). BAHIA RODIZZIO had really good meat and was probably my favorite.

Yes but they hold about 4 people max. We had a bell boy assist us with our luggage.

They do have elevators. In the building we were in, however, no matter which floor you are on, you always have to walk up at least one flight of stairs to get to the floor the elevator is on. There are no rooms on the level you walk in on, just an entry way - then stairs going up or down to rooms. Luggage must be carried at least one flight of stairs.

We suggest you make dinner reservations upon check in, so you do not have any issues getting dinner reservations.
CaitlinCC
14 restaurants the food is amazing in every one except dos lunas everybody else seemed to love it but me and my friends hated the food. There is only one restaurant that you have to make a reservation for and i heard it worth it you have to be waiting on line at 6am a day before to make it.
ORodriguez
No need for reservations except if you want to go to the fancy ones that you pay extra for. Our bracelet is black which included 10 restaurants and 10 bars I think. We bought all inclusive package but the fancy restaurant like " the white box" and "maki" you have to pay extra to dine there. To be honest, the restaurants included in our package are nice enough, depending on how picky you are with food though.

No reservations were required at any of the restaurants I attended, but unless you do the Pyramid booking (clear wristbands) that include all dining options (all VIP) you can't visit some of the restaurants...

The pyramid package has 2 with reservations. I had the grand package, and could go to most restaurants with no reservation. It was great because we could always eat where we wanted to, but there was usually around a 20 minute wait.

During Spring Break, the resort is loud and tends to be more of a party hotel. Since you are not traveling until May, you may not experience a huge party atmosphere, but its not until the summer months, where there are more families there than young adults.
If you are interested in changing resorts, please contact our office at 800-915-2322 for more information.

There are sections. Stay at The Pyramid. It's not loud there. I stayed there during spring break and no issues. Ask for ocean view room

The area in general is safe to take a taxi or bus and walk around in. There is a mall located within 5 minutes of the Grand Oasis Cancun.
CCGreg
Yes it is so safe! You can take a taxi for 15 bucks or the public bus which was really safe for 1 dollar! You can't beat it. The buses run every 5 mins and the last bus from downtown is at 5 am!
ORodriguez
Absolutely safe. All of Cancun is very well lit and protected night and day. There's a reason millions of tourists go there year after year. We walked from our hotel and took a bus. The bus ride is only 1 US dollar per ride and they circle the strip every 15 minutes. You can't go wrong. They will bring you to any of the malls or shops. I do not recommend renting a cab. Not worth it.
Perm
We did not go shopping at any of the malls but my experience was that we felt very safe around Cancun. Tourism is their lively hood and I wouldn't believe you would have any issues when shopping at any of the malls in the area. Get suggestions from your agency while there at the hotel. Very pricey though. We took a taxi to a neighboring hotel less than a mile away. Cost 10$ for the trip one way. Our next visit to the same hotel, we walked.
Jimpala
We took bus to the Isla Mall and it was an easy and safe ride. It was a very americanized mall. Bus ride took about 10 minutes.

Just got back yesterday and would recommend the trip offered through Cheap Caribbean. We went on a catamaran to a specific site to view underwater statues. If you are looking for a more "natural" snorkeling site, I can't really help you.
After snorkeling, there was plenty of parting and we stopped at a small island for shopping and or beach time for about 90 minutes before motoring to another location for lunch.
On the way back the sails were raised, drinks flowed and the crew entertained us with their dancing.
BRING SUNSCREEN and don't forget to use it.

At the resort we booked SAMBA for our Catamaran ride, snorkeling and day at sea. It was good. It was a long day and Catamaran can be hot if you don't get the one with the shade in the middle. We loved the Island of Woman. The buffet was so/so. Eat at the little pubs on the free hour you have on the island. Food and ice cold beer were great!

Hi Louisiana,
I just got back from a 5 day stay with my boyfriend at the Grand Osasis, and they do not offer snorkeling as part of the all inclusive package. However, we were able to do snorkeling, zip lining, kayaking and more at an island called Isla de Mujeres. We booked a VIP package with our hotel. It was a great deal, which included the Roundtrip ferry, all food and drinks and all activites mentioned above. Also, includes an exclusive locker and shower room just for VIP members and a separate lounge with pool, jacuzzi, and beach chairs. On the ferry it also included a Continental breakfast. We had a great time, the name of the park is Parque Garrafón. Hope this helps, enjoy your vacation!
TravelingisaLifestyle
Yes, this is true.
ElViajero
you wouldn't do it at the hotel itself, we had to walk down the street to the place called aqua world and do the activities there, it isn't far from the hotel. And yes it doesn't cost to do it.
skiplove
Water sports are offered, however not on the resort. The waves at the beach for the resort are much too rough for snorkeling, or even just enjoying playing in the water. The sports are offered at AquaWorld which they tell you is "just across the street." It is across the street, and then a walk - 20 minutes. These activities are done in the lagoon which is much more calm. We never took advantage of it because of the inconvenience. We did go SCUBA diving once with AquaWorld - ok, but felt very rushed on the boat - not as safe as I would like.

Tulum and Chichen Itza will be the closest sites. Both are not close to Cancun proper. Tulum is about a 2 hour bus ride while Chichen Itza is a bit longer but well worth it.
Tulum is on the coast so has a wonderful cooling breeze.
Chichen Itza is in the middle of the jungle, the pyramid being in a huge open field, and can be extremely hot depending on the time of year you travel. Expect the temps to be at least 10 degrees higher there than in Cancun.

Upon check-in at the resort you may schedule dinner reservations. Some resorts may have dinning restrictions. To check with them directly, their international number is: (01152 to dial out) 998-881-7000.
TimCC
No, there is only one restaurant where you will need to make a reservation 24 hours ahead of the schedule date.
Dhunte
Yes, but only for two restaurants; the Careyes requires reservations; while it and the White box require "formal attire". The Careyes reservation can be made at the front desk for that day. There are time slots, so if you're flexible than it isn't a problem. If you want an earlier meal you may want to reserve a day in advance though. As for the formal attire, gents can't wear shorts or flip-flops, they have to be in pants/shoes. Women can basically wear whatever they want.

It gave us priority check in, access to the VIP Bar, priority seating on the beach and pool areas, access to the nicer restaurants, wifi and a beachfront room with an amazing view..
TallTC
There are two levels of VIP service, one with a clear wristband and one with a gold one with the clear being less expensive. Both give you access to all food/drink locations on the resort, a separate lounging/bar area, a complimentary bottle of champagne, and free key to the room safe.
The lounging area is nothing spectacular. It is on the beach and have cabanas available for relaxing. They also have a server that comes by periodically to get you a drank, at a snails pace. It's much easier/quicker to walk up the ten steps to grab your own drink then to wait for their service. As for exclusivity at the cabanas, no, anyone/everyone sits in them and the wristbands are not enforced. The champagne was awful and the safe key is no big deal.
I suggest if you're doing it, just stick with the clear wrist band level. Gives you all access to the resort with no worries.

Awesome, I like waves so I liked the ocean but didn't see a calm water spot.

Yes as soon as you get there they will give you a bracelet. They'll hold your bags until your room is ready and you go back when they tell you and they'll give you room keys
Snic
Yes, you can check-in when you get there at least to get your bracelet - I've been there on a bachelor party trip twice (Nov 2015 and June 2016) and we did that both times - the last time the rooms were ready before 3pm (typical check-in time) but not when we got in at like 10am - we checked back in after a few hours and I think at least one of the 3 rooms was ready by 1, but it is luck of the draw. They will stow your bags at the concierge and if you're already in bathing suit or not (hit the bathrooms and change) you should be good to go!

I'm not sure the exact answer to your question, but we just got back from staying here, and I won't recommend this as a family friendly resort. It is very noisy, hard to get a place to eat, and caters to the college crowd.

JeannieCC
I would purchase the mug or bring one otherwise you'll spend the whole day going back and forth to the bar. They will give you small solo cups.
TP1234
No, drinks are severed in plastic cups, all you want. People buy mugs to keep the drinks cold and to not have to refill as much.
Pilgrim
No drinks are free. They restock your fridge every day too. We always have 4 bottles of water, 3 beers and 10 sodas stock every day.
Cancunlike
No, you do not have to purchase a cup to drink out of. All the bars have ample glass and plastic ware. What some do is to either bring from home or buy on site a larger, plastic cup or travel mug. That way they can receive a larger portion, keep it colder and save themselves trips to the bar. That, really, is the only advantage I see.

Color of bracelet4 answers
If I booked a standard room what color bracelet will we get? If it's the black one do I have access to Cocoa and Careyes restaurants. Thanks
3 years, 44 months ago
Jumpingbean
You will have access to the restaurants found on our website.
bthornton
Yes Bean, you'll receive a black bracelet with a standard room and it will not allow you access to those 2 restaurants or, my favorite, The White Box. But for what I thought was a very reasonable upgrade charge you can have access to those 3 fabulous restaurants and some very nice bars as well. The upgraded bracelet is clear or "transparent" as they call it. And you can request this upgrade upon check in.
PotholeDodger
Black one gets you access to most all restaurants and bars. No not the ones you listed.
Seacygang
I believe it would be blue. There are 4 "levels" of guest types: Lite, Grand, Grand Plus and Pyramid. Only the Pyramid guests have black or gold and have access to those restaurants.

Also does the resort offer transportation/packages to and from the downtown Cancun Bars? Last time I was in Cancun our RIU resort allowed us to pay $30 which included a bus to and from the bars, and it included a wristband for unlimited drinking while we were at the one bar.
3 years, 44 months ago
Chicago, IL
There's so much variety between all the restaurants that it would be difficult to compare them. I find it generally depends on what you're most in the mood for. They have Mexican, Buffets, Seafood, and more. As far as transportation downtown, we do not offer anything like this but the resort may. For details on whether they offer something like this and pricing, you would need to call the resort directly.

Please check with the resort directly for the most up to date information. If you have any further questions, you may contact the resort directly or call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.

I don't know about numbers 4 and 5 but let me tell you which, without a doubt, are the top 3 restaurants. That would be Cocoa Seafood, Careyes and my favorite: The While Box. Those 3 treated us to some of the best meals we have ever had ANYwhere. They are decidedly upscale, leisurely paced and, honestly, require an upgrade over the standard all-inclusive. But if you like fine dining, it is more than worth it.
PotholeDodger
TAPAZ, BRAzilian stead house and 2 other mexican restaurants. Food court is also good.
TRAVELGEEK7
There is public transportation outside the hotel as well as taxis but taxis rate are at $30. They offered unlimited drinking but the beverages are very poor in quality. I noticed that they do check for underage drinking which I noticed. Las Lunas was the best except for the tiny small portions.

You actually have to only be 18 to check into this resort. During peak times, they do charge a fee for people under the age of 26 I believe. What's the difference between staying at the grand oasis and the grand oasis pyramid?5 answers
Curious on what the difference is in both resorts? They look to be at the same resort but the pyramid is a little bit more. Which one is better to stay at and more fun for a younger crowd

The pyramid at Grand Oasis is the higher tier of the resort, it is on the same property. If you have any further questions, you may contact the resort directly or call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC
They are the same property. I went there and i still don't understand the difference because anyone is allowed anywhere on property. As long as you get the package with the clear bracelet (which I'm assuming is the pyramid package) there are no restrictions to what's included (except for spa, cigar bar etc). If you don't get this you can only eat at the buffets which would suck.

Pyramid gets you better room, better service, and access to more restaurants/bars

Are all of the rooms listed in the Pyramid? If not, how do I select a room in the Pyramid? What's the difference in the pyramid or the regular rooms?5 answers
3 years, 43 months ago

The pyramid rooms are through the Pyramid at Grand Oasis Resort only. They used to be part of the Grand Oasis Cancun, but The Pyramid was made into it's own resort as part of Oasis' improvements to their resorts. Grand Oasis and The Pyramid at Grand Oasis are all part of the Oasis complex, but The Pyramid is a higher class of service with improved amenities and luxuries.
JeannieCC
Save your money and go somewhere else. The rooms in the pyramid are dirty/dingy and outdated.
Taponcito
Ask your travel agent when booking, I would read other people's comments before booking and than decide...
Memovalen
They have different forms of pyramid rooms. The main building is the best upgrade, it would be the grand pyramid I do believe. The view isn't great but the rooms are cleaner and more air conditioned than the beach front ones. I booked what I thought was the best (grand oasis plus) but it apparently wasn't enough to get me access to everything. Good luck!
HeatherLyn
They have pyramid rooms and oceanfront rooms at the same "grand" level, having stayed in both, the oceanfront rooms are better, more recently updated and no wait for elevators, or trudging through the busy pyramid in your swimsuit.

What is the cost per person for the dining show Red Circus in the Grand Oasis Pyramid?4 answers
3 years, 39 months ago
Pam
For pricing on the shows, this can vary. Please contact the resort directly for details.
JeannieCC
The Red Circus show is located inside the Pyramid building and takes center stage so there are several ways to see the show. Here's my view of the range below:
a. FREE if you stand on the sides/ or on the second floor where the lighting crew is. This is what we did, and we got a great view without paying $$.
b. $20-something for the "reserved VIP area." They put out ~4 rows of chairs that give you prime view if you're in the front row. IDK what other rows might think if they are sitting behind someone tall. This option does include a waiter service.
c. $40-75pp for the ultra seating. The two packages may include some or all of the following: pre-show, waiter service, dinner, and actual show. You're seated literally right next to the stage/below the acts so these are definitely the most intimate options.
Crystinew
I believe it was approx. $60 US Dollars, which included dinner and show.

Hi, I'm a bit older but I have a youthful spirit. Weve been to this resort 5 times befor and believe me, this is one of the 2 resorts I'd surely recommend for spring break. It is Party Central! The pool is huge and amazing! The swim-up bars are packed with party seekers! The drinks are great and are included! There are Partiers there from all over the world ready for fun. Also, Every year, the resort hosts an international Artist/DJ to rock the place. In past years they've had Snoop Dogg, Pitt Bull ect. There is a big area near the pool that is a party place: stage, dance floor, beds. Look at past reviews and pics. If I were under 25yld, this is where Id go and Spring Break is the perfect time. Have fun! P.S. CoCo Bongo club is a must.

They have smart cars for rent at the resort. Like 20 of them lined up. You can rent them when you get there, but I wouldn't recommend driving in Cancun alone. Police are a bit corrupt and will pull you over and make you pay them in cash to continue on your way. Try a guided tour instead.

You can make this plan with the resort upon arrival!

Im booking the grand oasis cancun but it doesn't have the option of a room to select.5 answers
Its says Grand or Grand Plus but it does not let me choose either.

Room selection should be available during booking either right after selecting flights or, for a hotel only reservation, right after selecting dates. If you are having issues, please feel free to call in to 800-915-2322 to speak with one of our beach experts.
JeannieCC
OUR PACKAGE IS PROMOTIONAL AND THEREFORE, WHATEVER PACKAGE IS OFFERED TO US, WE TOOK IT BASED ON THE PRICE AND THE DISCUSSIONS OF THE CHEAP CARIBBEAN AGENT.
TRAVELGEEK7
Definitely do Grand Plus or Pyramid.
Familyvacation18
Grand Plus costs a little more
Washburn
If you plan on going there call the Grand Oasis Cancun direct. I would speak with a representative and I would highly suggest getting a black wristband because then you can go to all the restaurants and bars otherwise you are a very limited as to where you can go on the property to get service and the rooms also I would get a black wristband. The rooms are better. This hotel has four different levels of wristbands which equates to four different levels of service that you receive.
beentheredonethat144
The “plus” is wristband type rather than room selection. With plus, you get access to a few more restaurants and such. I believe the rooms are also upgraded, but I didn’t see any way to select or specify rooms on the travel agent or direct resort websites.
CGaddy
Th Grand rooms are okay, but the grand plus rooms are better. We had a grand that we were very satisfied with and which also included a balcony with great ocean view.
Teesh
You will get a specific room when you get their based on whats available in the type of room you choose. (grand or grand plus)

How far is Cozumel?3 answers
How far is Cozumel? What does it cost to get there?
2 years, 36 months ago
Decatur, Mi
You could fly or take a ferry and would be quite a trip. If you have any further questions, you may contact the resort directly or call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC
It is a pleasant day trip. It costs around $70 per person.
Raman
You can book a side trip to Cozumel or any other destination with a travel agency located on the first floor of the resort. Or you can rent a small car and drive there. It's relatively inexpensive.

How much more to book excursions once you arrive?5 answers
I probably won't be able to afford to add on excursions until a month or so after I need to book. Will it be a lot more expensive to add on later or somewhat comparable?
2 years, 36 months ago
Kellan
If added with us we can certainly add them later or you may contact the excursion company directly to add them. If you have any further questions or need help booking, please call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC
Hello,
I recommend only booking excursions once you get there! The cost will be the same or better. At the resort there are representatives that offer prices on the best tours/clubs/outside activities. Some of them pickup from your hotel or a central place where you can take a bus to. Book at the hotel so they can offer a cancellation policy. The only thing I recommend ahead is booking your airport transportation to your hotel! Do that at time of buying the trip or online a.s.a.p. When you arrive it will be less chaotic. HAVE FUN.
RickieNickie
We just returned and cost depends on what you want to do. Most where between 80-120 USD, depending on what you chose.
jayray72
We purchased the transfer from the airport to hotel. You can book through them when you get there (usually they give you the best price) or can book anytime by visiting them at the resort. Prob will book even if you did use airport transfer
SuzieFlamingo
It was kind of pricey but you can start to schedule those things now on websites or when you get there i recommend booking with street vendors and shop around before you pick one.
Littletons2016
We did not book any excursions until we got to the resort. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do so we waited till we got there. I would recommend going to the Isla Mujeres trip and the BOB. The trip to Isla Mujeres last from 9-5 and they serve you a buffet lunch on the beach. The lunch was just OK, nothing great but the island is beautiful. They also took us snorkeling which was an adventure. The BOB is the under water observation bubble and you are on a motorized bike. If you are claustrophobic or panic easy this one may not be fore you, but if you are not it is a very fun adventure. They have excursion packages on the resort. We did the two and it cost us around $250 for two people, for both excursions.

Is there a way I can make reservations for dinner every night before my trip?5 answers
Just wondering if there is an easy way to reserve a spot at dinner cab night before my trip? I hear the restaurants fill up fast and Iv also heard it's prudent to make reservations for some all inclusive resorts restaurants upwards of a month in advance.
2 years, 36 months ago
Colorado
Most resorts advise to do so upon arrival. If you have any further questions, you may contact the resort directly or call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC
In regards to the Grand Oasis they do not require reservations nor take them. You have to show up to the restaurant a bit early and wait for your turn. The restaurants that get packed will take your information down and call your name when they have space for you. For the steak house for example, the hostess told us that we must arrive prior to 7:30 to hold our spot because after 7:30-8 they no longer take tables, they only serve the people who have put their name down.
HSMD
This resort does not utilize a reservation system for their restaurants. If you arrive at the restaurant right when they open you have a chance of getting seated right away. Otherwise, your name will go on a list and you have to wait to be seated. We had to wait around 45 minutes for a couple.
MichigantoMexico
I've been to all-inclusives throughout the Caribbean and, yes, some of them have reservation policies for restaurants other than the buffets. Grand Oasis Cancun has reservations for some restaurants but most are on a first-come, first-served policy. Those that require reservations have it between certain hours on the day you want to visit. ie, reservation between 1:00 and 3:00 for that evening and it's prudent to get there early.
Woody1
None of the restaurants take reservation at Oasis Cancun anymore

Is there a kids club at Grand Oasis Cancun?5 answers
I see there is a kids club at Oasis Palm with a mini water park, video games, ect. Is there something similar at Grand Oasis Cancun? What ages are able to attend and what are the hours? If we book at Grand Oasis Cancun, can we use the kids club at Oasis Palm?
2 years, 35 months ago
Kate
Yes there is a kids club for kids 12 and under. The Oasis Cancun and Oasis Palm are separate locations. The Grand Oasis Cancun, Pyramid at Grand Oasis, and Oasis Cancun Lite all share the same complex.
CCGreg
There is a Kids Club and Grand Oasis Cancun.
All ages; 9am - 10pm. If you pay the ladies their way home they will stay later.
FamilyVacationLover
I would not bring my kids there. Its more for singles and couples to drink and dance all day. There was kids there when I went but this resort I would not recommend children.
Littletons2016
There is a kid's club at Grand Oasis Cancun and some parents dropped their kids at the club before spending the day at the beach or pool. I don't know about the ages that are permitted or the hours but you should be able to call them direct and ask. If you book at any of the Oasis resorts you can use the facilities at any of them. However, be aware that Oasis Palm is close to Cancun proper and is used more by spring breakers. You can get back and forth between the resorts using the public transportation.
Woody1
No there is not. There is some kid areas but if you really want a kid vacation you should defenantly go to the palm resort. I traveled to both resorts and the pale has a better kid friendly areas.

There are a lot of opportunities to dance! There were a lot of people dancing by the stage during the day, and nightlife in downtown Cancun = a lot of dancing
ghowenivna
They have some clubs on resort, but just 15 min up the road are all the usual tourist spots... senor frogs, Fat Tuesday, Hard Rock, Coco Bongo, etc.
AllInckusiveLover
There is an outside bar which has live bands in the evening. In the past they mixed it up with rock and roll, country and Mexican. This year it was all Mexican or Columbian and many people danced along with the band.

quite a bit of dancing, nightly live music outdoors in the marketplace and also the Havana nightclub and Coyote Loco bars on site.

Laundry Services5 answers
I was wondering about the laundry services at the resort. What the prices are. Also me and my fiancee are wanting to come here for our honeymoon but are under 21. I saw the under 25 age limit, was just curious before we booked our trip. We don't want to be turned away when we get there.

Laundry service pricing would be through the resort, please contact them directly for more information on this. Your ages should be fine, the policy primarily refers groups. However, travelers under the age of 25 without a legal parent/guardian will be required to purchase a Student/Youth resort fee upon check-in at the resort. Cost is $30 (cash only and subject to change) per person per stay and is not refundable.
JeannieCC
there were plenty of guests there that were under 25!
Jenhan
They say you need to be over 25 to attend this resort. I would not book this location now jist because pf your age they very well could tutn you away
Idrathernot
Im 19 and booked with 5 others, dont worry about it
Chino13
I’m unsure about laundry, my boyfriend and I just got back (22 and 24) and had no issues! Seems like there were many people under 25 there with friends, I don’t think they had issues either. I have read they charge you a small fee if they believe you’re ‘spring breakers’ or there with a large group of ‘underaged’ people.

The Grand Oasis has recently had some changes, however the rooms do come with a min-bar still, this generally comes stocked with water and soda.

Hello,
We were there 2weeks ago. We bought "The Grand" we did have a fully stocked mini fridge daily with beer, soda, chips and a candy bar. Daily. Do note, unless you pay for "Pyramid" you will not have access to all of the restaurants and bars. Good luck, after 5 times there, we are not returning.

The legal drinking age in Cancun is 18 so this is generally what resorts would go by.
JeannieCC
18 years old to drink. Younger kids get white wrist bands. They say no alcohol on them.
Scungelio
They don't ask for id for alcohol beverages but i believe you just have to not look like a child and you will be ok.
Littletons2016
Was just there 2 weeks ago and asked the bar tender this very question. He said there was no legal drinking age there and he served anyone who asked for a drink.
Brandieln
People were drinking at 17/18 I'm not sure if it's allowed but no one was debating them being there
JDL12
You can drink at 18. A few bars are limited to VIP, black wristband. These bars serve higher end alcohol.

Check in is at 3, they will hold your bags, but not backpacks or laptop bags. "Too easy to steal from" they said. I went back at 2:30 to check if my room was ready (We arrived at 10 am) and they had just finished cleaning it and let me in. Get checked in when you arrive and your room will move higher on the cleaning list.

My husband and I just returned from there June 28th. WIFI for 2 devices in room. If you are looking for something romantic this is not the place. It is known as the Spring Break Hotel and believe me it was still going on. Nothing but 18 - 20 year olds. It was funny the cab drivers even said it was a pit. I'd keep looking if I were you. I know there is more than one Grand Oasis in Cancun The one we experienced was the Pyramid and I would not recommend it.
TennesseeTNWhistler
I have noticed they have "Grand Oasis" and "Grand Oasis Palm" passes. The Palm is better one in terms of restaurants and a few other services., But you can access most of the restaurants with a regular pass. Also, even if you don't have "Palm" you may still visit the restaurants, but you'll have to pay out of pocket for yourself. It is not that much of a difference.
Tati2017
The oasis palm is managed by the same company. They can give you a one day pass to be at the other installations. They will give you a bracelet. From both hotels are the same. You couldn't tell the difference. The oasis palm, it looks better. Oais palm kid friendly and the grand oasis cacum is more for adults.
Vegeta
I'm pretty sure you can visit all the grand oasis, I believe the Palm is more downtown, pretty far away from Grand oasis, we stayed there once also, lots to walk to down town.
