Friendly Resort in Montego Bay

Our stay at the Royal Decameron was great! The resort is really beautiful and the staff is really friendly and accommodating even the resort manager! This resort is also very close to the airport and other resorts and local shops! The rooms were comfortable but a little out dated and needs to be updated.

Would definitely choose again!

I stayed at this resort for a week with my boyfriend. I can start off by saying we loved our time there! The best part was the privacy of the beach and the food. Unlike most resorts, we found this one to offer a lot of authentic Jamaican food, which we really enjoyed. They have a lot of options of different types of cuisine, but have a handful of Jamaican food. Their alcoholic drinks were good, but we found them too sweet for our preference. Our favorites were the dirty monkey and their pina colada, so make sure to order those. Rooms were comfortable, nothing fancy, but they were clean and the beds were very comfortable. We loved that most of the rooms offered a beach view so we were grateful for the view every day. The beach is small, but they have different areas. The beach was clean and private, so we didn’t mind that it was small. The pool was fun, they have pool volley ball every afternoon which was fun to engage with other guests. The entertainment staff is the best as they are very energetic, lively, and friendly. Jermaine was our favorite entertainer who was always making sure everyone was having fun and friendly. Shoutout to our favorite bartender too, Javed, he was great. We would highly consider going back to this resort and we heard from other guests that have been to Jamaica before that they liked this resort the best too. Lastly, great value so if you want a good time but don’t mind not having all the luxuries and want a simple, comfortable, fun vacation, then go here.

A Great vacation without the frills

This is resort is one of the older ones in the area, but the staff do a marvelous job of cleaning and maintenance to make this a real vacation steal! The rooms are large and very comfortable. The baths are well kept and larger than many. The decor is sparse and older, but you won't spend much time in your room except to sleep on the comfortable beds. The ocean view from the balcony was to die for - at no additional cost! The beach is narrow but plenty roomy for all. One of the best aspects of this resort is that much of the ocean is deep enough to actually swim and dive into.. That doesn't sound like much unless you prefer to swim in crystal clear waters rather than wade, and know that this isn't true of most resorts. The 2 pools are small and shallow (4 feet or so) but perfect for all the activities which take place here and at it's swimup bar each day from 10 AM til about 4:30-5 PM. Great fun and a chance to meet your fellow sun worshippers. The dining options are few, but the buffet changes daily and we were never at a loss of what favorites to eat (jerk chicken and pork) or try something new - seafood at every dinner. There is an excellent specialty restaurant doing Jamaican foods also available in the evening with reservation. Jamaica resorts and bars - what's not to love! The bar tenders are great personalities, love helping you discover a new favorite drink and here there are 3 - lobby, poolside and stage. We were only here 4 days, so we never visited the gym, or hot tub, or stayed up for the disco. At a great price compared to some of the 'ritzier" resorts, this is a wonderful vacation at an incredible price for all you get!

Great private beach

My husband and I just got back from a Week at Royal Decameron Montego Bay. We both said it was our most relaxing vacation ever due to size of the resort. It is small, which we loved, everything was close by. 2 pools that were adequate, We loved the private beach area! It was quiet and we didn't have much company down there. Almost like we were at the resort alone some days. We never used the beds up on the beach, the few that i looked at looked dirty to me. We had to utilize the blue chairs under the umbrellas when it got really hot. It is nice and cool in the shade. We both loved the buffet, lots of options and very tasty. The restaurant was decent, seafood/chicken. We did wish there was somewhere to get water/soda 24/7, snack bar was my husbands favorite for burgers every night, they also have jerk chicken, pizza (my fav) cheeseburgers , hot dogs, fries, grilled cheese. Room was very nice, clean, and a great ocean view. Best view we have ever had. We were in the 300 building, 3rd flr right above the pool, the pool area is very loud from 2-5pm ish due to activities so if you are a day napper you may want another building. It does close at 5 so we didn't hear anything after that. There is a photographer walking around every night taking pics that you have the option of buying. The shows were good, the bars.. drinks must be very watered down because we drank all week and barely got a buzz I really wanted to buy from the local Jamaicans so we bypassed the Indian stores which are the first couple you walk by on the hip strip .. at first .. We walked for about a mile to the shops, past margaritaville.. The ladies had us cornered in their little stores, it was very awkward and uncomfortable, as much as i wanted to buy from them i couldn't get out of there fast enough. And they turned quite mean if you said no thank you. The few i encountered anyway... I ended up buying a few things from the Indian owned store, they were very nice and also give discounts if you ask. If you are looking for pot, ask anyone. There are a few different guys that walk up and down the beach all day, they don't bother you if you're not looking for anything but they are there if you need them ;) this also helped me have a very relaxing vaca! OH IT'S REALLY HOT. Which i fine during the day, you have the beach, I literally thought my skin was going to catch fire between 1 & 3pm but that's when I'd grab my tube that I brought from home and stay in the water. We were there 8 days, I am Irish, pale skin, went through 4 cans of sunblock! I did not get a burn :) We didn't stay out much at night because it was so hot, when there isn't a breeze I found it almost unbearable. Ac in the room worked great! Sunsets are AMAZING. I would go back to this resort
