WE GOT MARRIED! IT WAS WONDERFUL!!

I HIGHLY REC THE LUXURY BAHIA JAMAICA!! It was BEAUTIFUL!! Service was AMAZING! Room was SPECTACULAR! We visited the non-luxury side and it was just OK. The Luxury side gives you THE BEST SVC and THE BEST ATTN! And being that it was adults only too was an additional perk! Our wedding was BEAUTIFUL! I'm on the website now booking our anniversary trip! Can't wait until NOV 2019!! We will be back!!

Needs Improvement!!

We travel alot, and usually have a wonderful experience. This time, we were very disappointed with this Bahia Principe, and here's why.... 1. The Luxury Adult side, which we paid for, had no restaurants other than the Beach Club - While we have our own children, we were trying to vacation from them and forced to dine with kids bopping around the restaurants while we were trying to have a romantic dinner. We love kids, but not when on vacation and paid dearly to get away from them. 2. Dress code was not enforced anywhere - including shoes! This is a huge disappointment as we wanted to have a nice experience together and patrons just showed up in t-shirts and shorts for dinner, ruining the "luxury" feeling of our vacation. 3. Entertainment was mediocre and casino was a dingy dump with several broken slot machines. 4. This hotel was over-the-top noisy and even though several patrons on our floor complained to front desk, it continued throughout our stay. It was far from relaxing or rest worthy. We stayed in bldg 26. 5. Hearing the carts rolling with clanking glassware and silverware in the middle of the night, explains why, at each restaurant, there were chips in all the dishes we ate from. Also, to note, at every one of the restaurants we dined at, not one of them had a complete set of salt and pepper or silverware, we had to ask for one or the other - whichever one was missing. This sounds petty, I realize, but it was every time we dined. Also, the linens were dirty at a couple of restaurants we were handed upon seating, and honorable mention to the wine glass complete with lipstick, which was not mine. 6. Housekeeping - Only received turn down service once, but we were there five nights - what happened the rest of the time?. We had to lug that old, musty comforter to the bed each night (those could be replaced anytime soon). We asked for restock in fridge, but only partially replenished every time, and we even tipped for this and still not accommodated. 7. We never saw or heard from supposed Butler - not once. 8. Entertainment at beach and pools was okay, but nothing to write home about. We have experienced better at their other properties. 9. On several occasions, the hallways smelled of sewage, which was unappealing. 10. Cats, cats everywhere

Okay, but we won't be back

Bottom Line Up Front: There were cats EVERYWHERE including while you're eating at the outside restaurants! There was a gang of cats fighting at my feet and table during our entire anniversary dinner! Once my husband complained, one of the staff members started trying to shew them away, but told us that there was nothing they could do because the guests feed them. The "beach" didn't meet our expectations at all. First of all the beach floor is nothing but rocks. You can't swim, it's only about 4ft deep. There's a tall rock barrier so that you can't swim out into deeper water. So the "beach" is a rocky, wading pool. The only thing we enjoyed was 'snorkeling" and seeing all of the marine life under the water. For those two reasons, we will never come back to this resort. That being said, the security is excellent, staff was wonderful, rooms clean and comfortable. Note: You must leave your room key in the slot in order for the electricity to work in your room, Also, there is central AC, which is very important to us. Also we had a true king bed, not two beds pushed together that come apart while you're sleeping. We didn't have issues making reservations for the restaurants like many commented. The food was very good, especially the specialty restaurants.

Cats Okay, but we won't be back

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive, all-fabulous Beach Bliss Fest.

The evening turn down service, bathrobe and slippers in the room & butler service.

Sipping cocktails, living large, on the private beach.

Getting one free hour of kayaking, paddle surfing, snorkeling & catamaraning.

What We'd Change

Parts of the beach are rocky, but if you bring some water shoes, you'll get to walk around and enjoy those parts of the beach, too.

Why You Should Go

It's 75 minutes from Mobay airport. Patience, young jellyfish. You'll be beaching soon.

Bring your water shoes - parts of the beach are a bit pebble-y.

Before your flight home, hit Club Mobay at the airport for A/C, drinks and lots of spoiling.

Bob Marley's home and the famous Dunn's River Falls are nearby and well worth a visit.
