First trip to the Carribean!

This resort was absolutely beautiful. It was very clean and well maintained. The staff always had a smile and were willing to help. We had an outside corner room which allowed a view of the pool and the Ocean The dining options provided different cultural choices and it was all delicious. There was also a buffet restaurant for those unable to make reservations or those who could not decide. When arriving, day outings, and leaving, the staff were so informational, their experience and knowledge saved many confused moments. I would definitely recommend this resort, and would definitely revisit in the future.

Wonderful Trip

This resort is huge with lots of activities all day and night, food available all day and night but we never felt crowded or hurried. If you want to book excursions off the property they have a manned kiosk in the lobby . the staff at this resort are 2nd to none . Plenty of chairs at the massive pools and white sandy beaches. The food at the buffets were ok , not great . You can make reservations at any of the 7 or 8 specialty restaurants for dinner ( we ate at 6 different ones ) Some better than others but all very good and the wait staff superb . Do wear appropriate attire as you will be asked to change. there is some shopping on the complex and some stores you can haggle the price. The room is comfortable , the bed is on the harder side but very comfortable to me. I loved the rock jetty on the beach for snorkeling . all in all this is a very nice resort that has something for everyone.

Beautiful Resort, Good Food, Poor Tour/Transfer

Bahia Principe is a lovely hotel with great customer service and good food. If you are a foodie, try to stick with Jamaican specialties like the jerk chicken, curried goat and oxtail. At breakfast, go for cornmeal porridge, ackee and saltfish and yams. European/American food is bland. Rooms are spacious and cleaned daily, though my Jacuzzi tub could have been cleaner. View from the balconies is nice, though something dripped down from the one above us when I was trying to enjoy the view one morning. Something about the room made me and my travelling companion ill. We both got sore throats, headaches, and runny noses by the third day. Avoid Amstar DMC for tours and transfers. Inflated prices, terrible customer service.

Stay away!!

Worst vacation i was ever on. I’ve been to a lot of places and this was the worst. The place is dirty. One of the actual hallways was so bad with mildew that we avoided it at all costs. The smell was that bad. The pool was cold and dirty. Leaves and bigs floating everywhere. The service, other then the pool bar, wa terrible. They make you download an app to make reservations, which are mandatory. We arrived and downloaded the app and within 15 minutes of our arrival found out not one of the restaurants on the property had availability before 9pm for the entire week. We booked all the reservations for the week within an hour of our arrival. The second night, after seeing the restaurants, we witnessed not one restaurant to full capacity. Not even close. So the third night we walked up to the Japanese place and asked for a table. They told us we had to wait to see if there was any cancellations. I looked behind the person and i said “ you realize that there is no one in the restaurant” there was literally no body eating there. We had a reservation at that place at 9. She made us wait from 830 to 9 pm when our reservation was for. Then after being seated, with still no one in there, the staff was complaining that we came so late. Lol. I swear you can’t make this up. So i turned to the waiter and said “ if you let us sit 40 minutes ago when we got here you’d be leaving now instead of just starting out dinner service” He didn’t like that. They refused to give us bottled water at any and all bars, restaurants, front desk. Anywhere you asked. They sent us in a loop from area to area asking for the water. It was ridiculous. Every morning you would see them inload cases and cars of bottled water at each bar but yet they always said they had none. Same thing with top shelf liquor which was supposed to be part of the package we had. Not until i called the manager over and handed him a 20$ did i see top shelf. And I’m almost positive it was the same speed rack liquor I’d been drinking. The staff was so disrespectful. They made you feel as if you were not welcome. Even after all the tipping, no one was greatful. Their attitude was terrible. Only a handful of the people that worked there were nice. A couple bartenders and the entertainment staff, other then that the rest of the people made you feel unwelcome. The pool was cold. Very cold. The staff entertainment was resistant to go in. The ocean was warmer. The buffet was horrible. Breakfast or lunch. The only thing with having was the omelet and the line was always 5 deep. The personal cooking them didn’t speed up or even acknowledged the issue. Dinner was okay. Just the fact of what a pain in butt it was and how late we had to eat for no reason but the actual food was okay. Wood i ever go back there. NO!! Would i recommend it no!! So many other places that are nicer and actually have hospitality. I definitely feel like i waisted my money and my very valuable vacation time. We are very disappointed!!!!!!!!

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive, all-fabulous Beach Bliss Fest.

The evening turn down service, bathrobe and slippers in the room & butler service.

Sipping cocktails, living large, on the private beach.

Getting one free hour of kayaking, paddle surfing, snorkeling & catamaraning.

What We'd Change

Parts of the beach are rocky, but if you bring some water shoes, you'll get to walk around and enjoy those parts of the beach, too.

Why You Should Go

It's 75 minutes from Mobay airport. Patience, young jellyfish. You'll be beaching soon.

Bring your water shoes - parts of the beach are a bit pebble-y.

Before your flight home, hit Club Mobay at the airport for A/C, drinks and lots of spoiling.

Bob Marley's home and the famous Dunn's River Falls are nearby and well worth a visit.
