Great time

This was our family vacation, we traveled with 17 family members and everyone said that this was the best vacation, great time had by all!!!! Rooms were great and the food was outstanding the only drawback was that the lobby and the lobby bar was hot and stuffy no air conditioning or circulation!!! That was the only draw back from the vacation!!!!!

Great Stay

Iberostar continues to excel in their customer service. Hotel property was lovely, clean though aging, and the staff was impeccable. Notable negatives include a hamfisted attempt to sell their version of timeshare called Star Service or Rewards or somesuch name which is a vacation program to get you superior treatment when you go to their properties (or other places or whatever. I didn't really pay much attention and eventually some South African "manager" escorted me out). Anyway, staff standouts include our concierge Stone, bartenders Richard, Steven, and Aiden, wait staff and ninja chef Michael and Kemeisha. They get special note because we had more contact with them but literally EVERYONE was friendly and helpful to the extreme. Never too much, though. This property continues to be the stepchild to the neighboring properties Iberostar Suites and Iberostar Grand (adults only) by way of repairs and maintenance. The property, though, is very very nice, and our room was large and comfortable. Fridge restocked daily, and the restaurants, though limited, presented excellent meals. Our cajun (should be Creole, honestly) was on par with the better (though not best) New Orleans has to offer. The Tempanyaki was also very good, despite Michael overcooking the octopus. Rookie mistake, but he was taking care of six meat entrees at the time. There are at least four full service bars and maybe more, I stopped looking because I wasn't there to drink. When we did, though, the bartenders (particularly at Deep Blue, the swimup pool bar) were eager to please and create whatever nonsensical combination we Vanillas could imagine. The evening entertainment got stretched a little thin at times with the entertainment staff filling too many roles. Overall, it was entertaining, and the bar in the theater helped. Take your family, take your friends, and plan at least one excursion per day to the nearby attractions: Rose Hall, Martha Brae River, Dunn's River Falls (1.5 hour drive each way) and Montego Bay. I didn't dive because I won't pay $110 for a one-tank dive. Dressel Divers seems to have raised its prices lately. Overall, 4 stars plus.

The Best

This is a fun resort for children and adults. It’s always something going on. The food is good. But the drinks are better. Try it and you’ll like it. Then go to the Suites that’s even bigger and better.

Awesome service!

I booked this hotel after reading reviews from other visitors. I was hesitant about visiting Jamaica because of safety issues, specially because I was traveling alone with my 16 yr old daughter. But I was wrong. I felt safe. The hotel staff everywhere was courteous and attentive. The beach was private, more beautiful than I expectedl, clean, the water was warm. Unlike many hotels I have been, there were plenty of chairs to lay down. They had a water stand for guest on the beach and many attendants offering drinks to guest on the beach as well. I had no issues, The room was simple. It had nothing that standed out to me or my daughter, very basic. I was expecting the hotel and room to be a little more modern. The food was ok. nothing special. I gave this hotel 3 stars because of the food and hotel room and lobby.
