Ocean breezes, sunny smiles and the hypnotic beat of reggae are just a few nuggets of deliciousness that will slay you at this beach utopia. From the massive infinity pools you get a stellar view of Montego Bay, but be forewarned: it's so amazingly blue, you might struggle to find the words to describe it. But no problem, mon - just pad your way down to the luscious beach to get a closer look. The spa is another swoon-worthy stop, in addition to the dining spots where the gourmet grub is on. Time to start packing.

They don't allow you to leave a honest review. I didn't use any profanity so I'm sure you can guess the treatment we recieved once we reported a theft. This site has good prices but I have nothing good to say about the review system. The pools could stay open later.
We had an excellent honeymoon at this resort. We received a complimentary room upgrade because it was our honeymoon and the staff were very warm and friendly. The pools were very clean and refreshing and the bartenders at the pool worked hard to keep everyone supplied.
The beach was very clean. We could have done without the peddlers in kayaks, but I realize that comes with the territory. They don't actually come up on the beach, but are at the water's edge in the morning and evenings.
We opted to pay extra for professional massages at the spa, which were to die for -- sooo relaxing!
The quality of the food was very good. My only gripe with the food service was that the Italian restaurant and its menu was new and the service there got slower as the week progressed.
Guests should be aware that the resort makes a sales pitch to join its vacation club on your first morning there. The sales pitch is not too long and you get resort perks for it, but the timing of the presentation doesn't make a lot of sense: they ask you how much you like the resort before you've really experienced it.
However, overall, we were very impressed with the quality of Iberostar Rose Hall Beach's staff, amenities and facilities. We would certainly stay again on our next Caribbean vacation.
First this hotel has a cheap hotel, middle priced and expensive. The low end the Beach can only be at the lower priced hotel. One thinks that they are right on the beach which is why I selected this one. Restaurants were under constructions, and the front desk never said anything. They handed you a map with the restaurants and hours of operation even though they were closed for renovations. rooms small bathrooms tiny and the mini bar was not a mini bar. It had one coke, 1 sprite, 2 waters and 2 cans of Jamaican beer. Mot filled daily we had to ask. we had to have a room change because the door did not lock, the safe did not work and mold in bathroom. The room change we had to call maintenance and wait because the bathtub packed up. The entertainment was fine and several of the dancers put their heart and soul into the dance routines so they were ok. Also know if you stay at the Beach or the middle priced hotel you will be invited (more pressured) to take a tour to buy into their vacation program (not really a time share but a pricy vacation club. If you do not purchase, we did not you feel awful and the looks from the vacation club staff - so a pressure sales pitch on your vacation. Not a place I will go back to.

why is the price in the jone ad $749. pp for iberostar in jamaica and then $1042. on the next page?2 answers

eileen
Advertised pricing is based on the cheapest airfare out of a specific departure city, typically Miami or Fort Lauderdale. If you are leaving from a different city the price will go up, and the dates you are selecting can affect the price as well. Traveling over weekends, like Thursday to Monday, or over a holiday tends to make the trip more expensive.
JenCC
There are 3 different hotels in the resort. All of varying levels. Rose Hall Beach = the worst one, but I stayed there and it was really nice but the food sucked. The other two only get nicer. Don't know much about them. Grand is the nicest, I think.
Sailchik3
There are THREE separate Iberostar Hotels at Rose Hall. The 'Beach' , The 'Suites', and the 'Grand'. The hotels are located all together in one area. The hotels have different proicing and may reflect the differences you are seeing.

I would like to book hotel only for Iberostar but I cannot find how to do this. Can I book hotel only? How?

You may book hotel only by going to the top left hand corner where you will see a gold box that states "Vacation Packages". There will be two tabs and you will want to select the tab that states "hotel only." This will allow you to book a package with no airfare. if you have any trouble you may contact CheapCaribbean at 1.800.915.2322.

The resort does offer "International and Domestic" beers. Unfortunately, we do not have the specific beers types they do offer.

No US beers. Just Redstripe out of Jamaica. this beer would be consdiered 'light' tasting howver. Our room refrigerator had another one, can't remember the name

This resort is about 20 minutes from the airport and bout a 15 minute cab ride to downtown Montego Bay..
ccsusan1
less than 30 mins
Anjee
20 min bus ride from the airport. 30 min ride by taxi to the "Hip Strip" which the hotel has a shuttle for for the late night partiers or shoppers. One of the main selling points for this hotel in my opinion. We were on the beach in no time.
jamaicanoproblem
About a 10 min cab ride. Honestly there is nothing to really go to downtown Montego Bay for except Margarrittaville which was AWESOME. By cab it was $15 a person for roundtrip.

It took us about 20 minutes to get to Montego Bay from the hotel.

Are there suites for 2 adults and 4 kids?5 answers

Dad
It appears that the maximum occupancy allows 3 adults and 1 child or 2 adults and 2 children.

Not sure about the suites at the Beaches part but we did have adjoining rooms with my son and daughter in law and granddaughters. This made it very convenient for the grandparents to watch the grandkids if the parents stayed out later.
karenfromhouston
yes
Suszyq
There are suites. But the option is to have the kids sleep on a pull out couch. I have heard this was not very comfortable. You may want to book at the Suites next door, which also has a nice kids pool area and lazy river that the Beach guests can not use.
BigMomma
I had my 18 yr & 14 yr old kids. We ended up having to book 2 rooms (standard) per Iberostar's rules. The beds are double beds. I think if they are young kids you can book 1 room.

Does the all inclusive drinks include American beers and top shelf liquors?10 answers
7 years, 92 months ago
bud
The All inclusive had Red Stripe and Red Stripe Light. Most of the wine was Spanish Wine - as Iberostar is owned by a Spanish company. Finally, most of the booze was Appleton (rum) and they had off brand Vodka and Tequilla. But hey - it's Jamaica - drink the Rum.
jamaicanoproblem
The all inclusive plans generally include local brands . This resort mentions top quality brands which probably include some international brands, however probaly not the top shelf brands you are accustomed to in the US
ccsusan1
No, redstripe is the beer of choice. American beers are extra. Red stripe light is very good though, we close to budlight. No top shelf.
Kdeko
yes it includes all brands of top shelf and american beers
Suszyq
Only Red Stripe. But lots of top shelf liquors. Johnny Walker, etc.
Yoaktown
I don't think they had American beers but the liquors (and bartenders) were all top shelf!
FromWisconsin
No and no. The beer was Presidente and they used rail alcohol, I believe.
JustAFan
Don't remember seeing American beers-only red stripe which is pretty light, and they had red stripe light too. Liquor selection was great-Smirnoff level for all varieties of liquor-definitely not well liquor.
Minimini
The drinks are limited. For example, they only had one beer, "Red Stripe", no other beer was served at the Hotel. Top shelve drinks, I did not see any, they had a generic brand of amaretto, and other related drinks. I did see they had vodka, good brands. But I did not see if they had good whiskey, maybe if you ask for it, you may have to pay for it.
woofiemac
Top shelf liquor is available and that's what they gave us. I'm not sure about the beer because we only drank red stripe if we drank beer.

Can I use my Visa Debit Card to Check In?6 answers
If I pay for this vacation with my bank visa debit card, can I use it to check into the resort?
7 years, 91 months ago
USA
When booking with CheapCaribbean.com, your reservation would need to be paid for prior to departure. Documents are then emailed which are the necessary vouchers needed to travel. Included in the travel documents is the hotel voucher which would need to be presented at check in as that is proof of purchase. A valid Credit Card may be required upon check-in for possible incidentals not included in your hotel reservation.
MariaCC
yes
Suszyq
The resort does not require a credit card at check-in for incidentals it is all inclusive.

jerk chicken7 answers
is there a "shack" where you can get jerk chicken at any time?
7 years, 89 months ago
Cali
A lot of the resorts in Jamaica do offer jerk chicken directly on property.
MariaCC
Not to my knowledge - They served Jerk Chicken on the buffet and they have it on the beach every other day. I did not see a 'shack.' You really do not want to leave the resort without actually having an agenda or your with an excursion because the area outside the resort needs work.
blpierre
The resort makes great jerk chicken, but if you want more you can find some shacks along your ride from the airport to the resort or from the resort to downtown Montego Bay.
JustAFan
They have jerk chicken at the buffett. There is one by the diving shop on the beach that is open during the day and then the evening buffet at night. Both had the jerk chicken every single day. Usually just the chicken with the jerk sauce on the side... so delicious
Hopper
No, but they did have it at lunch in the general dining that all the staff ate so you know it was good!
Minimini
Kind of :) Uncle Tony's buffet for late breakfast and lunch has, and the Little River buffet for lunch and dinner - these both have jerk chicken.
Kat1
Every other lunch has Jamaican dishes. There was jerk chicken and pork (their version) at the buffet. If you want authentic, you will have to go off site. But the rest of their food was really good. The always seem to have a Jamaican fish dish too.

Does the hotel provide transportation to and from the airport?11 answers

Rabbitt
The Iberostar does not provide transportation to and from the airport, but we are able to add this on to your vacation.
LaurenCC
No, but you can book transportation either private or by bus from the airport. You can do this online.
JoyNJ
You need to book a transfer-they use the same company as a few other resorts. Don't think you can just get a cab-definitely book a transfer!
Minimini
They do not have a shuttle (free). You can pay for a taxi about $30 or less, worth it as it is only about 10 minutes or so from the airport. You can pay $30 round trip through Cheap Caribbean for a bus, but it stops at about 4-5 hotels before arriving at Iberostar (last stop). It was very hot, a/c was barely working. I wld take the taxi.
Luvsun58

Kat1
No. You can book through cheapcarbbean with JLT
Lb47304
No, but you can make arrangements via JTL which has a rep that works in the hotel lobby.
WHATEVA
No airport transfers with the hotel. I would suggest a private transfer (like with Real Tours Jamaica) as I have heard horror stories of it taking 1 hour to get to the hotel... stopping at different hotels along the way. And not leaving the airport until the bus or van is full. Save time and splurge.. only a couple dollars more and get started on your vacation sooner!
BigMomma
If you go through Cheap Carribean, get the added airport transportation at the end of booking which is through Jamaican Tours & the Iberostar lobby has a desk there to confirm your transportation back to airport & they chose the time they pick you up. Sure eliminated that stress.
PammieB
Yes. They provide transportation to and from the airport/Hotel. when you arrive at the airport, on your itinerary that Cheap Caribean will email you, there are instructions on how to get the bus, (for example: one page will direct you to window #21, or booth #21, I forgot which one is, but it will be something like that.. then you will go there and the person working at the booth/window will take that page (make sure you bring two copies of this page, or you can take a picture like I did) then that person will give you a receipt, that receipt you will give to the driver, (make sure you say to him or her "thank you mon" they like that. When we got outside the airport there was a 25-30 passenger bus waiting for more passengers, we arrived to Montego Bay (MOBAY) as the locals call it, me and my wife saw the bus, and there where already people inside the bus, they where not all going to the same destination, but the driver dropped them of at they're hotel, being that Iberostar was the furthest from the airport (30-40 minutes drive) we where the last to arrive at our hotel.

No, you can't use those other facilities if you stay at the Rose beach. If you stay at the Iberostar suites or grand you can. The Iberostar resort is all connected. Everything is in walking distance. One big complex.

We only had access to the beach, club and spa. We were told we could not use the restaurants.
Deltagurl
No - There are 3 resorts and the 'beach' is the lowest of the 3. The other 2 have access to the 'beach' restaurants etc, but not the other way around.

There are golf courses nearby, but they would be additional fees and costs payable directly through the excursion company or golf course.

No golfing available
Meandyou
several nice courses
Roche
Golf is not available at the hotel but it is right down the street next to the Hilton. If u want to play golf I would stay there much easier they will pick u right up in the lobby with a cart and take u to the course. It is right next store to the hotel. I played there in 2014 and stayed at the Hilton nice course with great views. They have to send u out with a caddy but u do have a cart he rides with u or your group. The caddy will talk to u about how they make no money there hinting at they want a tip from u when your done. So to shut him up I told him right off the bat don't worry u will get a tip stop whining and let's play golf.
Liveforthebeach
Yes. There are two golf courses within approximately 5 miles of the resort. Both have caddy manadatory rules in place.
RRRs
Not on the property. Cinnamon Hill is about ten minutes away.

Do you have lunch options and late night snack food options?
2 years, 30 months ago
kp
For lunch options, there's Uncle Tony’s Snack-4:00 PM-6:00 PM. and the buffet is open for Lunch - 1:00 PM-3:00 PM. As for late night snack options, there's room service available at an additional cost until 11pm. The lobby bar may have some snacks available as well and is open until 1:00am
JeannieCC
Lunch is always a buffet: they have traditional Jamaican options but also typical American options like chicken nuggets, pizza, fries, burger and so on. There are two snack bars open all night. Not to many option but fine after a night of drinking
Jennnn
The buffet is 6-11 , 1-3, 6-10 , and there's always a late night buffet at one of the restaurants, not a whole bunch of options but something you'll like. I would order room service every day it's from 11-11 and they have good options.
Marykate
There is a lunch buffet, a grill restaurant on the beach and there is room service from 11am to 11pm.
mk4240
yep and room service is available
