This is the cream of the beach crop of this Rose Hall Trifecta in Jamaica. Inside this palatial, colonial-style hotel is a double Hollywood-ish stairway that leads to an expansive, avant-garde lobby, which harkens back to the day of the nearby famed plantation, Rose Hall, that once occupied this spot. Better still, all the amenities of the other two Rose Halls that grace either side are yours for the taking - water sports, bars, pools, entertainment and, of course, endless delish food and drinks. Visit this earth-heaven and bliss out.

50th birthday celebration
Had a great time on our four day trip. Great service, great food, everyone was very friendly. A little surprised the areas around the pool and beach weren't cleaned more thoroughly. Would definitely come again!
Front desk forgot to give me my package or wrist band.I think it was because my handicap accessible room was not ready yet. I couldn't go to the other two resorts next door but didn't need to because everything I needed was here at the Palace. Service was incredible from everyone. Chef Camille went out of her way to ask how her food was and could she make something special for you and gave a big hug when she saw you. She is a caring employee and Iberostar is lucky to have her on their staff. Rooms were large and kept clean. Never had to go to the bar to get a drink. They had plenty of servers going around the pool. Only went to the steak and seafood restaurant and it was very good.Went to the buffet the rest of the time and they had a large variety of food. Will definitely recomend the resort. Only twenty minutes from the airport so no long bus ride from the airport to the resort. I have been to Jamaica six other times and stayed at two other resorts and this was the best. I will return next year.
Food and service was absolutely amazing!!! We paid alittle more this time for some reason ($1k) but we are glad we came back. Only part is they had cheap tequila that other Iberostar grand carries. Even if it’s an import they should charge $10 per shot for a bottle of $50 Dom Julio tequila, I don’t mind $200 bottle but $50? My next trip I’m just going to buy it at the airport and bring it to the resort other than their food made up for it. We are very glad we came back. :)
This is our second time staying at the Grand Rose Hall. This time it was a little rocky to start, but the service team more than made up for it. The rest of the week was pure heaven. So here is the low down. EVERYONE is super nice to the point you wonder if its all an act or just great PR and training for their staff, but with the shear consistency of the professionalism and sincere niceness is just overwhelming. they really get to know you and make sure your well taken care of. We discovered the Iberostar App that they have brought online just recently really helps tailor the stay. i highly recommend it.
The butlers, Keen and Shane were great and made the stay super comfortable. We dialed in our wants and needs and they kept it steady the rest of the stay.
Food: So like i said, this is our second time and we have discovered that the Cornwall Buffet for breakfast and dinner is all we needed. the other restaurants just weren't worth the effort. PANTS! Ugh! im on vacation, not a meeting. We did the Surf & Turf the first time and it was good, really good but again, not worth the effort for me. I work hard all year and dont need the stress of worrying about pants for a steak and potato.
The bumpy start: So we got there around 130pm, and they said our room wouldnt be ready till 3pm and they would come find us, which is par for the course and i knew this. i went and changed and we went to the pool to get drinks and eat. We chilled by the pool til about 315 and no one came and got us so we went to the desk, the guy i was working with went home so the other ladies helped me. they said it still wasnt ready and to try back. so around 430 we went up again, now a little miffed because we still had our luggage still waiting around outside. We went up and they led us to our room only to find it was double beds. Not fun for the wife, she wanted a king and we had requested a king and had a king the last time so it surprised us. they attempted to find another room for us so we changed and chilled by the pool some more. We ended up finding out that our room wouldnt be ready till tomorrow. the wife was a little perturbed by i was feeling fine, but you know, Happy Wife, Happy Life. So the next day we spoke to the desk and they said they would move everything for us into our new room and it would be ready before noon. The wife and i chilled by the pool and consumed more of their refreshing beverages. By the time our room was ready we were in full vacation mode. they came and told us our room was ready and we went and checked it out it was great, just down from where we were and another great view. the rest of the week was phenomenal.
Food was great, alcohol was flowing and everyone at the pool was friendly. We plan to come down again and bring some friends.

Are you able to get a room with an ocean view? What is the upgrade fee?11 answers
6 years, 84 months ago
cldee
Cheap Caribbean does not carry a room that at the Iberostar Grand with a guaranteed ocean view. We can certainly request an ocean view when booking your reservations, however the room that we offer with the package is a Standard Junior Suite. We currently do not offer any other rooms for you to upgrade to prior to your arrival at the resort.
MeganCC
The Cheap Caribbean rep sent a note along with the reservation as a special request. We were given an ocean view suite on the top floor with no problems. We didn't even have to ask upon our arrival....it was already reserved for us.
AWESOMEaDventure
You can get an oceanview room, and depending on occupancy, you may be able to get a free upgrade just for the asking when you check in. No promises though. If you're there for a special occasion, they might upgrade you. I don't know what the upgrade fee is.
VacationJudy
Yes. No fee since we were getting married the upgrade was included
Weiner
Yes, with a little graditude $$, but that always works, where ever you vacation.
richlenz
yes there was no fee
emilio
Had an ocean view room since I was getting married and did not pay for an ocean view... was just automatically upgraded
socaqueen
Almost all of the rooms there at the Grand have some kind of ocean view. The higher floors have the better views.
I don't pay for the upgrades so I don't know but I can tell you the normal rooms have a great view every time I stayed there.
Also, they are so accommodating that if you don't like your room, they will move you if they have availability for no charge.
KennyRogers
i booked a regular room, not ocean view or ocean front and I had a great view of the pool and the beach. On the 4th (top) floor of building 5 rooms 09 to 14 the view is great.
I asked for an upgrade when I arrived but they said No. I did not offer to pay The room I had had a great view so it wasn't needed. I don't know what the price diff is probably $100 or $200 a night.
nursey82
We were very lucky and we were upgraded for free. It was awsome!
ROBNCIN
All rooms have a view of the ocean.

HOW FAR IS MARGARITAVILLE FORM ROSE HALL? WHAT IS THE ENTERTAINMENT STAFF LIKE? IS THIS AN ADULT RESORT?7 answers
HELLO,I WAS WONDERING IS THIS A FAMILY OR ADULT RESORT AND WHAT IS THE ENTERTAINMENT LIKE AND HOW FAR IS MARGARITAVILLE FROM ROSE
6 years, 74 months ago

The Iberostar complex is made up of Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall, Iberostar Rose Hall Suites and Iberostar Rose Hall Beach. The Grand resort is an adults only property, however, the Suites and Beach are family friendly resorts. According to the resort's website, https://www.thegrandcollection.com/en/hotels/montego-bay/iberostar-grand-hotel-rose-hall, the resort is 14 miles from Montego Bay and close to other tourist and shopping attractions. The link from the resort's website to contact them directly is https://www.thegrandcollection.com/en/contact-us.
MariaCC
The Iberostrar Rose Hall is a family friendly resort located about 30 minutes from Montego Bay/Margaritaville. The entertainment staff works tirelessly each day to keep guests entertained and offers a variety of shows and games every day for the guests enjoyment.
KateHCC
It is very family freindly... it has a lazy river for the kids and lots of pools and outdoor activities.
socaqueen
There are 3 resorts that make up Iberostar Montego Bay, the Grand is the top-of-the-line, adults only resort (the other 2 are family/kid friendly) . Iberostar has its own disco (not bad at all) and several theaters (with different showcases each night), several bars, game rooms and restaurants. Guests at the Grand have access to all three resorts. I believe Margaritaville is about a 10 to 15 minute drive but I must warn you that transportation can run you about $40USD+ for a trip.
heathersert
The only Margaritaville I came across was in the airport when I was departing Jamaica. Iberostar is one huge hotel split up into 3 sections. The Grand is solely for Adults and all that stay here have access to the other two sections of the hotel (i.e. their restaurants, entertainment, pools, etc.) The other two sections (Suites & Beaches) are family resorts and they are not authorized to come to the Grand side of the house.
Entertainment is fantastic! They put on a show every night with a different theme inside of a large theater. They also have a show they do out on the beach during one of those nights which is also quite entertaining.
KLFJR
Your age range fits the demographics of the Grand Hotel very well. There are younger guests in the connected properties, the Suites Hotel and Beach Hotel, but as a guest of the more upscale Grand you will have access to the entirety of the property. Stay at the Grand and if you want to ease on over to the younger rowdier side, just walk through the double doors or down to that end of the beach. Margaritaville is a short cab ride back in to town. The entertainment is what you would expect on an upscale cruise. The staff is very amicable and will easily keep you laughing man.
Rambow
I didn't go to margaritaville, but it is not too far from the resort. The place is about a good 10 - 15 mins away from the airport.
RiniRene
This is strictly an adult resort. They have shows nightly at the grand which are fun and sometimes interactive also Grand guest can go next door where they have Disco which is like a club. Margaritaville is about 15 minutes from the resort by car.

Are taxis available at the airport to take to Iberostar Grand instead of waiting for the bus service? Average price for airport to hotel taxi ride?5 answers
5 years, 72 months ago
Tess
Yes there are taxi's available to take you to and from the airport. Pricing is subject to change based on each different cab company.
CaitlinCC
We never had to wait for the bus. I wouldn't feel as safe with the taxis there..
KennyRogers
Yes
About $30
Gingrich
Yes, the Iberostar staff is exceptional and I would recommend calling them directly to help you arrange transportation to and from the hotel and anywhere else you may wish to go. When you exit the airport in MoBay you will be accosted, and I do not use that term lightly, by dozens and dozens of taxi drivers. It is best to have your transportation arranged to the hotel in advance. Call the hotel, I guarantee you they will have you sorted in short order.

Yes, if you stay at the Grand (Adults only), you have access to all ammenities, restaurants, etc at the 2 other hotels.
Momofboys
As far as I know, yes. The sister resort right next door has a lazy river with tubes that you can go and use.
I am pretty sure the deal is that you can go to their resorts and have access to their restaurants etc, but they can not access the Grands.
cmgccg
yes
nursey82
Yes. Those pools tended to be more crowded.
ChillyWilly
Yes, but if traveling with others nor staying at the Grand, they do not have access to the Grand's amenities. You will see a big difference and will not want to leave the Grand. Each of the facilities has access to the Spa and night club.
Iwork4vacay0401
Yes, we were able to use the other resorts. But the Grand Hall was the best, the other sister properties do not have top shelf alcohol and the beaches are not as nice as the Grand Hall
ROBNCIN
You have access to all resorts. Other resorts don't have access to the Grand. Nice feature
Gingrich
Yes
Retta
Yes, though you probably will want to stay at the Grand because it is generally nicer. That said though, the disco is at the suites and we walked the beach of all 3 properties..

Yes, guests at the Grand have full access to the facilities at the 2x sister properties.

At this time, Cheap Caribbean only offers the standard junior suite room category. The max occupancy in this room is 2 adults. It is not possible to put 3 adults in this room.
AlixCC
The beds are extremely comfortable. In the standard junior suite we had there were two (American) full sized beds and a chaise. You, your husband, and son would be more than comfortable. I am 6'0 and 260 and shared one of the beds with my girlfriend and never touched the other bed.

It appears that room service is included in the all-inclusive rate. However, as amenities are subject to change, we do suggest contacting the resort directly as they would be best to assist you. The toll free telephone number found on the resort's website to contact them directly is #888-923-2722.

It is and it is very decent. It is available 24hrs/day. They will bring you just about any food or booze item in the resort that they can get their hands on and do so with a smile and in about 15 minutes.

Are gratuities included in the rates at Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall ?6 answers
5 years, 61 months ago
going soon!
Gratuities are included in the all inclusive price.
BethCC
No - not included, but you will not mind tipping these folks. They were great, not pushy, and never had their hand out looking for the tip. We were happy to tip these great young folks. Give a nice tip like $10.00 or $20.00 with your first drink by the pool or on the beach and the drinks will always come your way without waiting.
SeanGG
Some people tipped and some did not. The staff does not expect it because they do advertise that it is not expected. I did tip however. 3 bucks at buffets and ten bucks for dinner each night plus a dollar by the pool for waitresses. I got 100 bucks in singles before I left and tipped about 70 bucks over 5 days.
llopesl55
I thought they were but when we got there we saw that many people were giving tips. Its' not required but if you tip, they will definitely remember you.
JulyTrip
You will need to bring extra money for tips. Just about everyone expects a tip for everything, and that is mainly because this is a poor country and these people survive on tourism and their tips is a huge part of their earnings. So please make allowances to be very generous in tipping these wonderful people.
Belmel1
I believe so, but you do not have to worry about buying for anything at the resort.

What are the bathrooms like? Soaps and shampoos and lotions of decent size? Don't care for those tiny things usually found.5 answers

Washington DC
I bring my own shampoos and conditioner's. Bathrooms are beautiful. What you see in pictures is what you get. They also have soap in shower, that is dispensed, but I bring 1 bar. And it's enough for 2 for the 10 days that we stood. Showering 3 times a day.
dsags52
We recommend calling one of our Beach Experts for detailed information regarding specific amenities at the resort. You can call us at 1.800.915.2322.
SamCC
The soaps and shampoos are a decent size. Didn't use the lotion since I brought my own stuff to the resort.
RiniRene
Soaps, shampoos and lotions are always small in hotels. These are not miniature, though, and your housekeeping person has no problem giving you more of whatever you need. Even though, these all inclusive resorts include tips and gratuities, I still like to tip the people who work so hard to go out of their way to make my stay so enjoyable and do it all with a smile.
TandL
They are small sizes.

The butler is shared amongst many rooms. Our butler met us the first day but then could not be found for the next five days until the night before we departed (likely looking for a tip). I would recommend booking a shuttle on cheapcarribean, because if you are not use to hustlers like I am in New York. The natives of Jamaica will try to hustle you because they know you are a tourist. Believe me when I say this or inquire with the front desk about booking a cheap car service to take you places in addition at the airport with transportation needs to the hotel and back to the airport when you are departing.

Whichever resort you're staying out will provide you with transportation if you didn't already set it up through the website to save you time in addition to money. Suggest to book transportation through the site if possible, a lot less headaches and less money outta of your pocket.

Booking dinner reservations. difficult?5 answers
Have heard that booking a dinner reservation, or attempting to, has been a disappointment for some guests. While most are only open for 3-4 hours and only at night, what are the chances of getting reservations? Can one book Early (like now...?). We'll be there the first week of October and really want to try them all. And...being kind of off season, can I expect many/any of them to be closed at either the Grand Hotel Rose or it's sister hotels? Thanks.

Iberostar resorts do not allow guests to make reservations prior to arrival. You will need to check with the concierge upon arrival for information regarding reservations. A la carte restaurants require reservations, and guests may dine every night at an a la carte restaurant at this resort regardless of the number of nights booked.
Days and hours of service may vary for a la carte restaurants.
KristenCC
We had no problems booking at the grand. Once you arrive you are taken to your room and introduced to your butler. He will take care of all of your reservations for you. No worries at all
aramos912
I did not have any issues booking reservations with any of the restaurants at the resort. As soon as I settled in I made reservations with my day bulter and when I was unable to make my last night at the resort reservation. I order dinner in and it came right up with no issues. Highly satisfied. :-)
RiniRene
You will be there in the off season and will have no trouble booking at the restaurants. Go through the conceire and you will received written confirmation. The restaurants will not be full and are not fully staffed during the off season. It is the best time to go.
Mudda4
Our experience here was no different than any other all inclusive resort. Difficult getting an early reservation, but had no issue getting a late reservation for a table for 6. Always frustrating when the restaurant is half empty and you struggled to get a reservation.

KristenCC
I didn't see any food or menus marked gluten free while we were there.
Alphie
I recall seeing quite a few gluten free options at the buffets.

Are there suites that will accomodate 3 persons at the Grand?3 answers
We are 5 ladies who want to vacation together for a wives only trip however, 3 of us will have to room together. Are these couple only suites or will they accommodate 3 to a suite?
4 years, 49 months ago
CHELL
For this resort we only offer 1 room category that has a maximum room occupancy for 2 adults.
CaitlinCC
the suites generally have a king size bed and a sofa, but the bed is large enough that you don't physically touch each other (unless you really want to!)
eureka
Yes.. just get a room with TWO double beds. So two of you will be sleeping in the same bed and the other will have their own.

what is the best all inclusive resort for adult singles in their 20's looking to mangle and have fun2 answers

Help
One of the best resorts in Jamaica for young singles would be the Riu Montego Bay. It is right in the center of Montego Bay and very centrally located. Iberostar tends to be more of a family resort, than for young singles.
KristenCC
Iberostar Grand Hotel by far. Great bars for mingling poolside great beaches fantastic staff willing to help with anything you need.

How is the beach at Iberostar Grand Rose Hall Montego Bay Jamaica3 answers
Is it rocky, do the beach have waves, is it super calm and boring, do it have jellyfish, do it have extreme seaweed????
3 years, 37 months ago
Turning 50
The beach is clear, calm and sandy.
SalCC
Not rocky. Doesn't have tons of waves. Did not see any jellyfish, nor did anyone else. No extreme seaweed. The other resorts on either side of the grand rose was more rocky with more seaweed. They kept the grand rose beach in better shape.
Leox
Just came back. Not rocky. Well-kept and clean. Water is calm, you can have a drink in hand in the water and just hang out. No seaweed, just a piece or two of sea grass floating around. I hate stuff floating around in water, and there's was none of that here. Jellyfish are tiny and do not sting - I snorkeled with lots of them and did not get stung. Beautiful beach.

You need to book your own transportation. Short ride, so I suggest using 1 of the 2 government approved taxi services.

Collared shirts are required but the don't have to be long sleeve
DivaOne
No, but a lot of people dress nice for the "non-buffet" restaurants. I wore a summer dress and sandals.

Is this adult only on the entire resort or only in parts?5 answers
1 year, 20 months ago
jmar
There are parts of the resort that are family friendly as the sister property shares the property. If you have any further questions, you may contact the resort directly or call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC
All of the hotel. I did not see any children at the Rose.
TexVacationer
Iberostar Rose Hall is adult only, however Iberostar has 2 other locations on the same strip that allow children...security is present to keep them off the adult part.
Foxydomi
There are basically 3 resorts in one, with the Grand being the adults only. Grand guests can use all 3 resort amenities but others can't come to the Grand. Everything at the Grand is upgraded and higher quality.
PungoBubba
There are three properties within the iberostar umbrella and the Grand Hall is definitely adults only. The Suites is a family oriented property and not sure of the third one.

If you need any help booking, please call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC
Yes. There was a cookout on the beach one day that served Jamaican food and one evening in the buffet.
TexVacationer
Yes. While they serve different cuisines every day, I always saw Jamaican food options at the beach grill and the buffet every day. It was delicious!
There are plenty of umbrellas on the beach. No worries!
LoveBirdsGA
There are plenty of grass huts on the beach for shade. You won't even have to go down there early and "save" a spot. One of the benefits of staying at the Grand is it doesn't get overly crowded like that.
You can get Jamaican food every day at the beach or at the buffet restaurant. The other restaurants are more specialized, Italian, French, Japanese, etc. We usually go off site for one night. Try Scotchies right down the road for authentic Jamaican food.
PungoBubba
There are more than enough umbrellas when we were there.
They had Jamaican food in the nice restaurant 2 days of our 5 night stay but the outdoor BBQ buffet by the pool had it every day...it was delicious.

You may reach out to the resort directly. They may tell you to make reservations upon arrival. If you have any further questions, you may contact the resort directly or call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC
We tried that but they won't let you make reservations until after you check in. Plan on the buffet on your first night - it is really very good. I bet you will go back there during your stay.
PungoBubba
I don't believe so. The concierge services will make that reservation for you at the hotel and I suggest making reservations for all the days you're there as soon as you arrive.
Azithromycin
You cannot make reservations for the restaurants before arrival. When you check in, you will be assigned a butler to handle all requests, or there is always a person in the lobby that will book for you as well. We honestly preferred the variety and quality of options at the buffet over the restaurants.
