Excellent value

The entire staff were wonderful. I felt welcome from the moment I got there until I left. Our room didn't have the greatest view but it was spacious, clean and comfortable. The minibar was stocked daily and our housekeeper Juliette was accommodating and even left us friendly notes! The food was excellent in every restaurant we tried The shuttle buses were always available despite that we didn't use them. We chose to walk the grounds to enjoy the scenery. The pools and beaches were beautiful and always clean. We never waited to get a drink, all the bartenders were prompt and friendly. I would recommend this resort to anyone. There is something for everyone.

Never again

First time in Jamaica and this resort delivered such a bad taste, it’s hard to imagine going back. I don’t ask for much and a little friendliness goes a long way with me. The staff here is very robotic and unfriendly. At first I thought it was just a few people we encountered but it continued throughout our entire stay. I’ve been in the customer service/hospitality industry for a long time so I always treat people how I would expect to be treated. I even give people the benefit of the doubt and take into account that maybe they’re having a bad day and just don’t feel like dealing with anyone. That outlook only goes so far though. When I’ve been polite, made eye contact, said please and thank you with a smile, and still get treated like I’m just a number, I’m done. Not only were the staff here completely lacking in the manners department, almost everyone we encountered (servers, equipment rental, drivers, etc.) asked for a tip. I expected to WANT to tip and brought cash to do so. I just never expected to be ASKED for a tip after receiving such poor service. Also, expect to be hounded by staff asking you to sign up for services/excursions every time you pass by the lobby area, which you must go through to get to most of the restaurants. A couple times they literally stepped in front of us because we started to walk around them. Everyone I’ve ever talked to that has been to Jamaica is shocked when I tell them about our experience, so I’ve concluded that it has to be THIS resort. The food quality was comparable to microwave or cafeteria food. Comparing this place to other all-inclusive resorts I’ve stayed in, this was by far the worst. The beach and pools were incredible and the drinks were pretty good. They didn’t water them down or take it easy with the alcohol, which was nice. I found it odd that you had to exchange a card for a pool towel and you are only allowed one towel per person, but maybe they’ve had a problem with people stealing towels... who knows. When it comes down to it, I really hope this resort doesn’t set the precedence for Jamaican hospitality. I’m hoping they were just having an “off” week and do not continue this practice with future guests. Most of us save up for trips like this and I’m just really disappointed that I spent my hard earned money there, with no appreciation whatsoever.

What's to Love

It's all-inclusive, all-beautiful and all you'd ever want in a beach vacay. Swoon.

The 86,000 sq. ft. infinity pool with four Jacuzzis. You could hang here the entire time & be just fine.

Reservations are not required at any of the restaurants.

Modeled after Roman baths, the epic spa's stress-busting massages, Turkish baths & more.

Teeing off at the renowned Tryall Country Club that's just 10 minutes away. Schwing.

Swooning over the panoramic view of the pool and teal ocean from the Blue Lagoon restaurant.

What We'd Change

The resort is built in rugged country, so the man-made beaches are rocky. Even so, the area is beautiful, and with five pools, finding a place to swim is no problem.

Why You Should Go

It's about 40 minutes from the airport - blink and you'll have a chilly drink in your hand.

You can hop on catamarans, kayaks, pedal boats, snorkeling & windsurfing 100% FREE.

Volleyball, tennis & aerobics are available for calorie burning. (Dip into the ocean to cool off.)

Dunn's River Falls is not too far away and is a must-splash. Jump in.

Since these are villa-style, three-story buildings, there are no elevators. Better than a stair-climber.

Unbelievably, there's more: five fresh water pools, with 4 integrated Jacuzzis. Kiddos have their own pool to splash around in. Dive in.
