Great place to relax

Warm sun, but not too hot or humid. Sandy beach + huge pool + children's pool. Good food. Friendly and attentive staff. Spotlessly clean. Evening shows mediocre, and music MUCH TOO LOUD. (Must admit, though, that I'm older and not used to it. Had to move way, way back.) Otherwise strongly recommend. P.S.: try bargaining on price of van from airport. I felt I paid too much.

Pool, palms, sandy beach beyond.

LOVE THIS PLACE!

I have to say that I truly enjoyed my time at the Grand Palladium Jamaica resort! It was truly beautiful and I was so grateful that my fiancé chose this location to ask me to be his wife! The resort was BEAUTIFUL, the drinks were plentiful, and Jamaica is so very lovely. The food was EXCELLENT! We've stayed at other Palladium hotels and this one was the best thus far. There was always something yummy to eat, even the sports bar food was worth the late night trip. I truly enjoyed the hospitality and all the beautiful amenities the resort had to offer. The bedroom was beautiful and we had an amazing view. Our room was pretty close to everything so we didn't have to walk too far to get to the main portion of the hotel. The beach was a short walk away, and so was the amazing and huge pool! There was something to do all day long! So feel free to wake up early, grab some breakfast and have some daytime fun! Make sure you schedule a photoshoot with the many photographers around the resort and ensure you have a few drinks and play some foozeball. I would recommend this resort to ANYONE - from millennials taking a girl/guy's trip or vacation, to weddings to families with children to older individuals in need of a sunny vacation. There is something for everyone. I will say though, the resort is not as handicap friendly as it could be due to the massive amount of steps and lack of elevators in the room, so keep that in mind. The things I would like to see changed at this resort is to have more options for night time activities. After the nightly shows, the only option for a good time was karaoke or the sports bar, and the shows end at about 10:30pm. In addition, there is a "casino" and a "disco" which are both open quite late but the casino is all digitized machines and the disco club is usually pretty empty and was, most nights, a miss. I would definitely have liked to see more areas for night time gatherings, more (and honestly, better) shows, and more fun for those of us who enjoy the late night. The bed was definitely not the most comfortable and they did not use fitted sheets, so I found myself laying on bare mattress night after night, which was pretty uncomfortable in my opinion. Another critique, is that I felt Cheap Caribbean was not completely clear about the distance from the resort to the airport. Yes, this hotel is about 40 minutes away the airport but that is NOT considering traffic. It took us over two hours upon our arrival to get to the resort. Our flight arrived at 2:30 and we did not check into our hotel until after 6:30pm. So, the earlier your flight arrives, the more likely you will have an opportunity to enjoy your first night at this resort. Overall, I found that the good absolutely outweighed the bad. My now fiancé and I had a FANTASTIC time and we loved everything about Jamaica. I would absolutely go back to this resort in Jamaica and I would absolutely go back to Jamaica. Palladium hotels are beautiful! I hope this was helpful for you!

Just Ok

With alittle bit of work this place could be great. As it is right now, well it's just ok. Overall, this resort just feels alittle tired and worn. The positive for us was the kids club. The ladies did a fantastic job with our son. The first thing he asked every morning when we got up was when could he go to the Kids Club, when we would pick him up from the Kids Club he would always ask when he could go back. They were friendly and made him feel right at home. This gave my husband and I the opportunity to have some much needed couple time. Thank you to the wonderful ladies at the Kids Club! Now for the so/so. Now none of these were deal breakers for us, just areas where there is room for improvement. Upon check in we were told that we needed to meet with our transportation rep to confirm our departing transportation within the hr. Already? We hadn't even been on the property for 10 mins at that point and we were staying a week. After we were checked in we were taken over to an area where they try to talk you into doing a breakfast to listen to a presentation about their members only club. I'm sorry but I have been traveling all day and I just want to get my vacation started. So those two things were an immediate turn off. Guest Rooms...Our room was just ok. The furnishings and bedding could be revamped. The sheets were not great quality, they had pilling from wear. The first few nights we did not have a mattress pad, just a thin flat sheet covering the mattress. No big deal, just a little weird. On the 3rd or 4th night they did put mattress pads on the beds...they were waterproof pads so every time you moved you crinkled. Our tub had stains in it which made it look dirty. The tub is huge, looks nice until you try to crawl in or out of it. Good luck on that is all I can say. Restaurants...There are several places to eat on the resort. The food was ok. At night, if you hit the places within an hr of them opening there was no excessive wait. Going at prime time (7-8) you will have a wait to get in. Beaches & Pool Area....There are 3 beaches for guests. We only went to the one beach where they had the water sports. The water was calm and clear at this beach. Only disadvantage was limited shade (this was the theme for all beaches). You need to go early to get something in the shade. There was a beach attendant however I believe his only job was to pick up used glasses when he wasn't busy talking to the life guard. The water sports were hit and miss. We couldn't do paddleboards one day because of the wind, however there literally was not even a faint breeze so we didn't understand that one. Also if you want to snorkel and use their gear, they require a deposit of $30 or $40. Just a heads up to bring cash with you to the beach if that's what you wish to do. The main pool needs some tlc. There are several missing tiles on the left side of the pool, of course the pool still functions just fine but it is a bit of a distraction. There are also broken lights around the main pool area. In the women's bathroom off the kids pool, one of the toilets flushing mechanism was broken and the floor was soaking wet. Wet from wet people coming in to use the facilities? Leaking toilet? People peeing on the floor? Who knows.... There seemed to be a ton of support staff EVERYWHERE. I understand there is work to be done but I have never been to a resort where I have seen so many grounds keepers, house keeping, restaurant workers etc. milling around. It kind of takes away from the feel of the resort. With as many staff that they have around there really is no excuse for the general maintenance issues that we saw around the resort.

Christmas Vacation

This is a 3-star resort at best. Cleaning room was horrible. Food was ok . Shower never cleaned. Zero Service around the resort. Zero drink Service around pool or beach. Rude stuff for the must part. Worth about half of what we paid. Again 3-star at best.

What's to Love

It's all-inclusive, all-beautiful and all you'd ever want in a beach vacay. Swoon.

The 86,000 sq. ft. infinity pool with four Jacuzzis. You could hang here the entire time & be just fine.

Reservations are not required at any of the restaurants.

Modeled after Roman baths, the epic spa's stress-busting massages, Turkish baths & more.

Teeing off at the renowned Tryall Country Club that's just 10 minutes away. Schwing.

Swooning over the panoramic view of the pool and teal ocean from the Blue Lagoon restaurant.

What We'd Change

The resort is built in rugged country, so the man-made beaches are rocky. Even so, the area is beautiful, and with five pools, finding a place to swim is no problem.

Why You Should Go

It's about 40 minutes from the airport - blink and you'll have a chilly drink in your hand.

You can hop on catamarans, kayaks, pedal boats, snorkeling & windsurfing 100% FREE.

Volleyball, tennis & aerobics are available for calorie burning. (Dip into the ocean to cool off.)

Dunn's River Falls is not too far away and is a must-splash. Jump in.

Since these are villa-style, three-story buildings, there are no elevators. Better than a stair-climber.
