Jamaica Sept 2017

I took a group of 13 people to the resort. the following things happen during the trip. (1) my sister-in-law was sent to a room that had people check in and had to be given a new room. my room # 3822 had small towels in the room, I called to get some and it took a whole day to bring me fresh small towels. My daughter door was broken and it laid on the floor for a few days. Really. My girlfriend room# 2636 lights keep going out. my other girlfriend door was broken and they was moved temporary to other room so they could fix it. Overall after we got everything fix and squared away I would say you need to have people that are friendly. The last person that I want to recognize is the young lady from Amtrax I believe that's the name of the company that you send to pick-up from the airport and see her for updates back to the airport. She was great very nice and helpful. The driver was Mr. Hawk or Gregory and he went up and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful time. That's the best part of great vacation. Tammy Francis

Not what we remembered

We were at this resort in 2014 and were happy with our stay for the price so we decided to return there. This time we were disappointed. The good: our room was located at a central area and we were close to the pool, beach, and dining. The housekeeper made our bed and wiped the floor daily. The staff was friendly in general. The beach was raked usually each morning. The food at the Jamaican, Italian, and Steakhouse restaurants was very good. Family friendly. The bad: We lost power several time per day. The rooms were pretty damp although we kept the doors closed. Nothing dried in the week we stayed. You have to carry a towel card in order to get a beach towel. The ran out of beach towels by 10 am. Unsure how that happens. The public bathrooms were atrocious everywhere. They were constantly dirty, overflowing bins of paper, and/or the buttons and handles were broken. Forget about seat covers. We were told that watersports are free. However, the workers are unwilling to show you how to use something unless you pay a "lesson fee" of $30/person. When we said we'll think about it, they kept calling at us from across the beach asking when we were going to buy the lesson (in the hopes we'd be embarrassed enough to just do it). They left a "welcome gift notice" on our door and when we asked about it they tried to get us to sit in on their 90 minute pitch about buying a timeshare from them. The spa personnel asks all passerbys if they want a message; it felt harassing after a while. Not our best experience. And they are priced the same as Rose Hall.

Best Place Ever!!

This was by far my favorite vacation my boyfriend and I have taken (we stayed on the Lady Hamilton side). We are 23 and 26 and we thought this resort was just so beautiful. The service was wonderful from check-in to check-out. I've seen a lot of people complain about how long the lines are for the buffet in the morning, but you are not even waiting more than 2 minutes, but maybe because we were there early. The drinks here are nooooooo joke lol. In Mexico, I felt like I had to drink multiple drinks just to feel some type of buzz.... that is definitely not the case here. We never waited to eat at the restaurants and was kind of even better for us because we werent rushing our day to make our dinner reservation. The steak at the Mexican restaurant was amazing and we had the best service there; she was very attentive to us. All all service at the restaurants were great as well, we just remember this service clearly. Not sure what the buffets served for lunch or dinner because we were only there for breakfast (nothing too crazy, but neither of us are big breakfast people; the omelet station and an espresso was enough for us). The beaches were small, but not small enough where it was overcrowded; we had the same spot every day. The pool bar is so much fun and the bartenders contribute to that excitement and entertainment. We were in Villa 29 and it was the perfect location; close to the main area and beach. Sports Bar was amazing, especially on days when it would rain for a little bit; we would just hang out there and drink and order bar food. We saw the entertainment shows once and it was okay, but you cant expect a Broadway type show/performance every night lol. Overall it was such a great experience & I already cannot wait to come back to this resort!!

What's to Love

It's all-inclusive, all-beautiful and all you'd ever want in a beach vacay. Swoon.

The 86,000 sq. ft. infinity pool with four Jacuzzis. You could hang here the entire time & be just fine.

Reservations are not required at any of the restaurants.

Modeled after Roman baths, the epic spa's stress-busting massages, Turkish baths & more.

Teeing off at the renowned Tryall Country Club that's just 10 minutes away. Schwing.

Swooning over the panoramic view of the pool and teal ocean from the Blue Lagoon restaurant.

What We'd Change

The resort is built in rugged country, so the man-made beaches are rocky. Even so, the area is beautiful, and with five pools, finding a place to swim is no problem.

Why You Should Go

It's about 40 minutes from the airport - blink and you'll have a chilly drink in your hand.

You can hop on catamarans, kayaks, pedal boats, snorkeling & windsurfing 100% FREE.

Volleyball, tennis & aerobics are available for calorie burning. (Dip into the ocean to cool off.)

Dunn's River Falls is not too far away and is a must-splash. Jump in.

Since these are villa-style, three-story buildings, there are no elevators. Better than a stair-climber.
