Room

After arriving at Grand BAHIA PRINCIPE we checkin and was place in room 21301. It rained all day on Thursday December 5th we were off premises and came back around 10 -10:30pm I notice extra staff around the area Only to find out that many rooms and hallways were flooded include my room 21301 After mopping, we were left in our room over night. As we were leaving our room the next morning Friday December 6th we had to slash our way out to the lobby where we the made A complain We were instruct to pack and move out the rooms and they would be place us in a different room, we were left without a room from 8am- 4pm. No shower, No access to our baggage because they put the in storage. ..We were then place in room 22612 which was flooded prier to our arrival and also next to main elevator with a noise sound like a jackhammer between the 5am to 2am We also witness water dripping from the bathroom ceiling, The area smell moldy and stinks. This is what my husband and so I have to smell every time we are in the area include our room. I was offered a coupon of $100us dollars. I wish there was a video or a photo for smelling. This is my worst vacation ever .

We enjoyed our time @ Grand Bahia Principe. Overall, the stay was pleasant and the people friendly. However, we did find the food options to be a bit boring after the first two days - they clearly tried to change things up, but some of the items were the same (the jerk chicken was the best part). Also, there were very few activities at night for adults on the Grand side - in fact, there were hardly any. Also, would have liked movie channel options - movies to watch at night - once your retire to your room. There were a few channels for children, but nothing for adults - an on demand or HBO option would have been nice. Additionally, we found the attempts by Bahia resort sales people to sell us upgraded vacation options and/or vacation plans annoying. On a daily basis, we were approached by at least 2 or 3 people.

Doesn't quite hit the mark!!

This was my second time visiting the island due to another FAIL from a previous trip but in Ocho at the Riu. We tried the Grand Bahia in the hopes of a much better experience however we will not be returning. We were not greeted with drinks as were other guests, the women staff were rude yet again to me, not my fiance, the only exception to that were Travis in restaurant bookings and Natrice the bartender in the evenings at the Sports Bar/Outside with live entertainment. Other than that, we were not impressed. The restaurant options were not pleasant with the exception of the Steakhouse on the Luxury side of the property, thanks to Travis because they wouldn't allow us to make the reservations. All in all, it was nice to get away however we will not be returning due to the lack of sleep we received from inhumane and rude guests constantly slamming their doors late at night and in the early morning hours to blatantly disrupt sleeping patrons. The disregard and disrespect from other guests was unruly. We appreciate being able to get away however we will go back to visiting other islands in the Caribbean and properties that cater to their guests. Thanks

FAMILY BONDING

I took my 4 adult children ages 23 -28. My one daughter is a chef so I wanted her to experience an all inclusive. The resort had enough food variety to support all their taste buds. The resort itself is huge, so accommodating large groups is not a problem. In fact, I would suggest companies to consider this spot for a convention or just a company sponsored retreat. The only problem I had was the laundry service. I would recommend that they provide various washer and dryers in different sections for guests, because their service wasn't available (didn't respond). Updating the fitness area I would suggest also. But other than that the pool is massive and the rooms are nice.

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive beach bonanza for every member of your fam-bam.

The white, cabana-ish tents that hug the pool and provide shade while you chillax.

Being greeted by colorful, fresh bougainvillea on your massage table in the spa.

The two coolio, curvy pools that are a coconut's throw from the beach.

What We'd Change

The beach is a little pebbly, so make sure you bring your water shoes. The upside is that it makes for truly excellent snorkeling right off shore.

Why You Should Go

It's 75 minutes from Mobay airport. Don't fret. You'll be greeted with a welcome cocktail soon.

The beach is a bit pebbly, so bring your water shoes.

Before your flight home, hit Club Mobay at the airport for A/C, drinks and lots of spoiling.

Book your airport transfers with us before you arrive. You'll avoid a lot of headaches.

Hotel Description

Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica: All-Inclusive & All-Fam-tastic

When you enter the open-air lobby of this Victorian-style resort, you'll immediately feel the Jamaican breezes wash over you. Next, you'll encounter a sea of white, wicker chairs on the expansive porch (they're oh-so British), where you can sip a cocktail and soak in all the awesome of the lush grounds. Wander through the complex and you'll be wowed by the glistening pools and the cerulean waves of Runaway Bay. Grab a Red Stripe from the swim-up bar while your kids can descend into a splash frenzy at their own pool. Then you can all gather for some Jerk Chicken at the snack bar, where you can plot your next adventures: water sports, nightly shows, and more. When might we expect you?
