Visualize this dreamy day: a warm sunshiny morning spent on your balcony followed by a healthy breakfast (with mimosas, of course), a little pool time where you get to order up anything you want to drink and as many times as you want (no one is counting), then - you know what? Your day is yours - you've got nothing on your "to do" list except maybe scheduling in some much needed spa time.

Its a Zen Place
First and foremost, the service was awesome. They were friendly as possible and attentive to our needs. All the food was ala carte. So meals took a little more time than your usual buffet fare because it had to be prepared. This may sound wonderful but it can be inconvenient when your in a bit of a rush. Especially for breakfast. A buffet would have been great a couple of different times though out the stay.
The rooms were well appointed and kept clean, the resort was beautiful but the beach sucked. An abundance of seaweed stayed on the beach and they have a bit of a coral problem. This was our fourth trip to Punta Cana and this beach doesn't even rate with the other places we stayed.
This is a withdrawn type place. It's the place to go if you want to unplug and get your Zen on..........so to speak. I highly recommend it for that purpose. We prefer a little more activity but hey.......... who's to say there isn't a niche to carve out for the quiet crowd.
We took this trip as our honeymoon adventure and truly after booking it and looking at the pictures a million times before we went we were so happy we choose this resort!! the pictures online depict exactly everything that we saw in person. the room was gorgeous we did the romantic junior suite pool view which still had a slight shot of the ocean as well and had a cabana on the balcony which made it the romantic part. we did have a visitor one night in our room which was a gecko that my husband fought all night which I actually had no problem with considering it ate bugs LOL our butler Francisco was very helpful and sent us an itinerary each day that included the drink of the day as well all the activities happening at the resort. do go visit Harlent at Piragua for breakfast, hands down the happiest and friendliest person we met our whole trip. he was personal and truly took an interest in us and made sure all our needs were met. Another great employee to meet is Lorenzo the bartender, each day he shared with us the Lorenzo special drink that never disappointed and has the best Mamajuana that we tasted throughout our trip. we also took part in dinner on the beach and loved every minute from the view, food, service and experience!! overall we loved this resort and has already talked about when we will come back to visit or visit a sister resort through the Zoetry company.
Service and accommodations is top notch but the resort is definitely geared towards the older crowd, meaning retirees. My wife and I are just not there yet. That said if you are in this league than definitely worth the visit.
I've traveled to Dominican Republic several times and have stayed at a couple of resorts and have had an amazing experience. We booked our trip to Zoetry Agua Punta Cana, due to its high ratings and reviews, however, the food was disgusting and the alcoholic drinks tasted like medicine. The food was horrifying from the first day we arrived until the last day. This made our experience awful and after this vacation, I doubt I will return to any of the resorts located in the DR. We barely ate and made a former complaint to the General Manager and the staff regarding the quality of the food and the way the food was prepared. The chicken tasted like rubber, a simple sandwich tasted like cardboard (Whole wheat bread, ham and cheese), and the cheese smelled awful. We suspect the food products used were frozen foods, because there is no way food can taste that awful. The last couple of days at the resort all we ate was fruits and nothing else. We didn't drink the alcohol after the first day when we tasted our cocktails and it tasted like mouthwash. We are truly disappointed about our experience at this resort. Everyone we engaged with in a conversation at the pool or anywhere else complained about the food. We didn't step foot in the beach as it was full of seaweed and you couldn't reach the water since the pile of seaweed surrounded the entire beach. We only used the pool and stayed in our room since there was absolutely no entertainment at the hotel, except for karaoke, which we didn't care for. This resort needs a new cooking crew and a Chef. There was no Chef in site at any of the restaurants.

Is this as advertised gourmet food? 24 food service? Top Shelf?
3 years, 44 months ago
Rob H
This is a 5 star resort and they are know for having amazing food and service.
CaitlinCC
Our food was exceptional. 24hr room service is available with large selection (and they would likely accommodate any special request).
ARB01
There is 24 hour food service and the drinks are top shelf, anything you want. I would not call the food gourmet. The steak and meat dishes are better than the seafood.

Is the beach good for swimming in?3 answers
How is the beach for swimming is it rocky? Are the waters calm enough?
2 years, 36 months ago
Denver co
Hello, Yes the beach is good for swimming. Depending on the weather the sea will be calm on nice days and a little less calm during storms.
bthornton
It was very windy when we were there which limited the ocean activities we could do, but the beach was gorgeous, plenty of seating. We had no problem swimming in the ocean though!
OhioHoneymooners
I went wading in, it wasn't too rocky. Some days the red flag was up so you couldn't swim far out.
