I don't recommend

Nice outside area and rooms are ok. The towels and bed linen were disgusting - old, torn, grey (they should have been white a long time ago). Food was the same every day and tasteless , we felt like beggars for a glass of wine or two. Beach is stinky and almost missing.

Good resort can be great with a few mods

The beach front is by far the biggest upset at the resort. They have large cement barriers about 10 yards out from shore. Making it a eye sore and no one wants to swim around them. Besides that the only other complaint would be them allowing the locals to set up tables on every walkway and try to push you to buy their goods. It happened two days on our trip and makes it very uncomfortable to walk around your resort. They are so pushy and don’t get no means no and once you pass one table you turn the corner to another. Had to cut through grass and other obstacles just to get around without being harassed.

Huge resort

This resort was extremely large. It is actually 2 resorts together. There was 2 lobby's and although we were much closer to the barvaro beach one, our lobby was the dominican beach. I got lost almost every time I went there. Our room was very nice , the only restaurant we liked was the chinese hibatchi style one. I did enjoy my lunch of grilled chicken at the olive branch once. But otherwise the food at the buffets and french and italian restaurants was so so.They were building a dock on the beach while we were there and of course our room was by the beach so the pounding started before 8 am and went on past 10 pm (annoying) The night we checked in there was a total black out that lasted more than 6 hours, the weather was fine and we never heard what caused it. Overall I probably would not choose to stay there again. Most employees did not understand english, was sent on a wild goose chase the day I tried to purchase tylenol.

What's to Love

Kids get a resort passport that will kick off a scavenger hunt (read: keeps them occupied so you can chill).

Swimming with the dolphins - put your fins in the air (like you just don't care).

The Pirate ship excursion - total blast for you and the young 'uns.

Scuba diving - there's a fee, but the you can't beat the view.

Wringing the stress out of body and soul with delicious scrubs & facials at the spa.

Isla Saona is a boat ride away. Dreamy and secluded.

Water excursions about the wazoo - floating spas, catamaran sailing, whale watching & more.

What We'd Change

The restaurants can be busy with lots of families, but you have plenty of options and you don't have to make reservations.

Why You Should Go

It's 25 minutes from the airport - family fun is hoot and a holler away.

You're right in the center of beautiful Bavaro City, where you can shop, hike, bike & more.

Hoyo Azul, a natural lagoon with crazy gorgeous azure water, is 38 minutes away.

It's 10 minutes from Cocotal Golf Course designed by Pepe Gancedo, Spanish champion.

The resort has a coolio indoor theater perfect for live nighttime entertainment. Par-tay.

It's 15 minutes from downtown Punta Cana and 45 min from La Romana.

You can upgrade to the Sun Club, a family-centric program with upgraded everything.

Day trips are close: Altos de Chavon, Los Haitises National Park and Samana.
