Pleasant stay

So we arrive at the resort and are immediately greeted by one of the bus boys ready to take us into the member registration area, there we were greeted By Marienny! she was so sweet and helpful offered us food and drinks and it smelled like a garden in there! Once we were all checked in we walk up the stairs to our room and it was very spacious, probably one of the most spacious rooms I have ever stayed in, I was really impressed by the upkeep in the room! The first restaurant we visited that night was Chopsticks! the food was amazing I felt like I was at benihana's! All the staff was very friendly, and were always soo helpful! I really recommend this place they had a lot of fun activities to do during the day and if your young and want to go out there are a lot of local spots you can go to you just have to be careful and make sure you have reliable transportation to and from the hotel.

Wonderful Resort!

I was hesitant at first because we have never purchased through a site. Cheap Caribbean made everything simple and easy. We were so pleased with the resort. We will definitely be going back and taking our immediate family too! Sunscape Dominican Beach Resort exceeded our expectations! The people are very friendly and extremely nice. Once you arrive, you are greeted with drinks, then shuttled to your hotel room. The entire resort was kept clean and I didn't even see a piece of trash on the ground. The workers were constantly detailing the place and made sure it was up to par. The food was phenomenal! The buffet had a little bit of everything so everyone was please. Chopsticks was a hibachi restaurant which I would say was better than the hibachi places here in Indiana. The activities workers brightened the mood and made everything so much fun. There were constantly activities and events to keep occupied. The kiddy pool was great to just let my daughter play while I tanned on the edge. Kid friendly all around which is the main reason we chose it. The drinks were delicious and the snack bar was too. The pools were kept clean and I didn't feel gross swimming in them like at some places. This was the best all inclusive resort I have ever stayed at and I have been to multiple areas. The foliage and scenery was breath taking. The work and detail they put into keeping up the gorgeous flowers and plants is wonderful. Also, the beach area is another beautiful site. The workers kept up on raking the seaweed and hauled it away. The customer service was beyond wonderful and I will be returning. I highly recommend this resort to everyone and their families. Don't listen to the negative Nancys on here because they probably had one bad thing happen and decided to exaggerate it all. My husband, daughter and I absolutely loved it! Travel the world and make a stop here at this resort!

Highy Reccommend

Been to about 10 other resorts in the DR, this one was great. staff gave extra effort the whole week to make sure we were taken care of. Especially Carter, Belkis(best drinks) Franklin at the Steak House, Nathaniel at the pool, Samuel and Lizzette at Sun Club all extremely professional and courteous, Juan at the Sun Club swim up bar very good drinks.Sun Club absolutely worth the investment. Our travel agent at Cheap Caribbean was very helpful and spot one with all his recommendations. We plan on going back next trip to DR. also very quick trip from Punta Cana airport. Doug and Ronnie

Great hotel for the price and Service

Hello, my boyfriend and I just got back from sunscape Dominican (5/9-5/14). We stayed for 5 days to celebrate our anniversary and mother’s day. Overall, the resort was great (Its 2 hotels in one- Sunscape Bávaro and Sunscape Dominicana). You have access to all restaurants, activities and pools for both hotels at no additional cost. The grounds are big, clean, well lit at night and beautifully manicured. There are carts available if you want to be driven from one place to the other. The food was good. Windows- The buffet had typical Dominican food as well as American food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Chopsticks- the hibachi restaurant was great. Get there when they open at 6pm or you will have to wait outside until a table opens up. Good food performance and great dessert after. El Lago - the romantic dinner restaurant was great! Lobster and beef was amazing! Enjoying dinner while listening to the waves by the beach was outstanding. Thank you Carlos and Wilton for taking care of us There was also an Italian restaurant but we didn’t get a chance to try it but was told by other guests that the portions are very small. The nightly shows were great ! DJ and dancing after the show was wonderful - Open air and DJ Justin had us on our feet. Starlight Disco- we went to check it out twice but it’s more for the younger crowds. The pools were beautiful and clean with daily activities. The beach was breath taking but sea weed was constantly there. Yes they had staff cleaning it all the time but it’s out of there control. Why did we only give it 4 Stars you ask: Our room was great but the air conditioning wasn’t as cool as we wanted it to be. The staff was very good at coming to the room and try to fix it a few times but the temperature was the same. On the 3rd day, we went back to the lobby and asked for a room transfer at 2am. They moved quickly and helped us with our things to another room that was much better. The pool bar runs out of lemon and ice by the afternoon. We were caught in a presentation for a vacation club at the resort and wasted almost 3 hours of our vacation time. If you are not interested, say NO as soon as you hear “presentation for 90 minutes”. Big plus : The Spa was wonderful. Thank you Carmen for taking care of us ! We had Swedish massage and pedicure. We had access to the sauna and jacuzzi. The waiters and staff go out of their way to make sure we enjoy our vacation. Thank you to Alberto and Osvaldo (lobby area), Alfredo (cart driver), all the waiters at the windows buffet that always made us laugh. **Please don’t forget to tip your waiter *** They all work hard and they are so sweet. Thank you to the activities staff who were great ! We will definitely return next year.

What's to Love

Kids get a resort passport that will kick off a scavenger hunt (read: keeps them occupied so you can chill).

Swimming with the dolphins - put your fins in the air (like you just don't care).

The Pirate ship excursion - total blast for you and the young 'uns.

Scuba diving - there's a fee, but the you can't beat the view.

Wringing the stress out of body and soul with delicious scrubs & facials at the spa.

Isla Saona is a boat ride away. Dreamy and secluded.

Water excursions about the wazoo - floating spas, catamaran sailing, whale watching & more.

What We'd Change

The restaurants can be busy with lots of families, but you have plenty of options and you don't have to make reservations.

Why You Should Go

It's 25 minutes from the airport - family fun is hoot and a holler away.

You're right in the center of beautiful Bavaro City, where you can shop, hike, bike & more.

Hoyo Azul, a natural lagoon with crazy gorgeous azure water, is 38 minutes away.

It's 10 minutes from Cocotal Golf Course designed by Pepe Gancedo, Spanish champion.

The resort has a coolio indoor theater perfect for live nighttime entertainment. Par-tay.

It's 15 minutes from downtown Punta Cana and 45 min from La Romana.

You can upgrade to the Sun Club, a family-centric program with upgraded everything.

Day trips are close: Altos de Chavon, Los Haitises National Park and Samana.

There are no irritating wristbands required.
