Here, you'll get swept up in the sweeping coconut palms, delicious white sand, turquoise water and thatched-bungalow suites nestled in lush tropical gardens. If that's not enough to blow your hairs back, then the cuisine and drinks (both unlimited, of course), the stress-ousting spa, the water sports, the land stuff, and night time partays will plant a nonstop smile on your face. You won't know what hit you. Oh, but we do. It's called Beach Happiness.

Punta Paradisus
It was a great place but could have been better. I was not aware of all my meal options. My girlfriend was ill when we arrived so we could not attend the opening . This must be where all options were told. We only made it out once to a nice meal due to we were not told about reservations. It was nice but could have been great
Guess I know now
This resort is beautiful! Just looking around it can be breathtaking, landscaping was perfect. With that said, this resort is large and we did a great deal of walking from place to place. The resort does offer trolley service, it seemed we never seen one when needed. If you are in good physical shape walking should not be an issue. I would never suggest older travelers come here. The beach and pool area we loved! The room we were in ( junior suite) had some issues. Fist off the toilet did not want to flush, the tv had 1 English station ( not a big deal ) but the wifi never worked well until late into the night. I am guessing it was overloaded with traffic. Overall we came for the beach and sun and have no complaints there! God creates wonderous things
Such a great vacation from start to finish!!! Flight was on time , Paradisus , Punta Cana was perfect , clean , friendly absolutely loved it . Every aspect was taken care of from room service, restaurants ( just need to make reservations) excursions were unforgettable
The restore has two sides: a more upscale-the Reserve and the basic. If you stay in basic- service is bad, no one speaks English, food is the very best mediocre. The reserve side is much better with all: pool, service, food. The resort is too dark at night, the cars that transport the people to and from rooms and restaurants emit way too much exhaust. There are trucks that drive though the resort and people have to scatter to the side with kids, strollers- uncomfortable and inconvenient.
The gym is small but nice and clean.
The restaurants are beautiful and good music by the beach. Bartenders are fast (not all) and more or less friendly.
Now the bad: I got robbed brand new- iPhone stolen. It was definitely an organized crime and not just a busboy with sticky fingers, due to the sophisticated phishing texts and messages on WhatsApp I started to receive immediately prompting me to an “apple” look Paige that asks for my Id.
The hotel staff were not helpful until I said I’m going to the police. This happens often in Dr according to the police. Be careful, keep your stuff locked away. Mine was swiped while I went to the bathroom and my mom was busy with my kid. Right from under our noses.
Overall- hotel decent but needs lots of improvement with service and food options in the non Reserve area.

Which would you recommend - paying more $ for the "Royal Service" or paying more $ to stay in "The Reserve"? For a young couple with no kids?11 answers

NJ
We have never received negative feedback from any customer who was unhappy with the upgrade to the Royal Service.
MariaCC
YOUNGER COUPLES SHOULD GO WITH ROYAL. RESERVE IS GREAT BUT IF YOU DON'T HAVE KIDS WHY DO IT.
turmoilx3
Yes the reserve is much nicer but it is more expensive so it just depends on your budget
Jwill
Royal Service. The Reserve is loaded with kids and is included in the Royal Service package.
georgiagirl
I would go with the Royal Service, afterall a room is a room and the place is beautiful no matter where you stay!
injured
Get both if you can. THE RESERVE is beautiful. We didn't stay there and we regretted it. We went on a tour of THE RESERVE and it was lovely place. Quiet. Get the Royal Service with The Reserve and they will pick you up anytime you want by golf cart and take you to the beach. The Reserve is about a 8 minute walk to the beach. The Royal Service basically gives you something like a on-call or butler service. Ask for Ruben he will take care of you :)
NotGoingBack
The Reserve for sure!!!
Bickford
the royal service is geared for adults only.... no children and you are closer to the beach....
grenvilledog
Dear Young Couple,
I would strongly recommend you opt for the Royal Service rather than the Reserve. The Reserve is quite secluded and will require you to walk more to get anywhere.
The Royal Service is great if you are looking for VIP service with a relaxing and quiet vacation with access to a pool and beach for adults only. The Royal Service includes access to 3 additional restaurants (Vento, La Palapa, and can't remember the 3rd).
Have fun!
DOS2AMIGAS
Absolutely the Royal Service!! The Reserve is way more family oriented.
sallamander
I would take the royal service, 1st you are closer to the beach and also you have a butler at your service that you can call ( make reservation for dinner etc..)
The reserve is further and you will have to take the little bus or walk to the beach... It is worth the extra money... We just came back from the paradisius royal service this week and LOVED it!

They have a great kids club where we did take our kids, it is only until 7pm after that you will have to pay for baby sitting charges that is very expensive $15 per hour per kid. On Tues and Sat they have extended stay until 10pm for free.

What is the beach like at this resort? What about the water?5 answers
4 years, 56 months ago
Laurel
Paradisus Punta Cana is situated on the beautiful Bavaro Beach and features chaise lounges.
LizCC
Beach was beautiful and clear, had the nice greens and blue when the sun was out and just regular blue when it was darker, sand was almost white and if your royal service you do not have to compete for spots from people putting towels out at 6am. Sorry i do not have pics on this computer, I am at work.
nickinkentucky
Beach is.beautiful but depending what month you go the water is very strong
Ecsmpos
The beach is beautiful. The waves can be kind of tough, but we saw small kids enjoying the waves without incident.
Messengerx
Water is not calm but not so rough that you can't enjoy hanging out in the water. The major downside of the beach here was the constant peddling by vendors. We couldn't go 10 minutes without being asked to buy something. It was very disruptive to relaxation. Clean beach, cabanas and beverage service were nice.

What is the best resort for a wedding ceremony2 answers
We are planning a wedding and are looking for a gay friendly place to have a family ceremony in the caribbean. We are fully aware we will most likely only be able to the the ceremony and not the actual paperwork which is absolutely fine. We are looking for the best /affordable trip for about 25 people.

what suites are central to the kid activities?2 answers
Sounds like the resort is sprawling and I'd like a room near where all the kids stuff is so they don't have to walk too far or deal with the shuttle just to hit the playground/ kid pool/ kid zone. (We'll be bringing two children)

Requests can be placed to be in certain locations. Please note these would not be guarantees. You'll want to call 800-915-2322 and an agent can assist you with placing the location request.
CCGreg
It would probably be best for you to stay at the reserve, convenience of a great buffet, some of the sgows, the pool and activities for the kids are closer to this portion of the resort. Some shows are on the beach and at the main lobby. You are closer to the main lobby and the events on the beach are probably mire adult friendly anyway.

3 years, 43 months ago
Richie
Pricing changes day to day and travel dates + airfare can fluctuate pricing greatly. For the most accurate price, give us a call at 1.800.915.2322.
SamCC
Best thing to do is book it in advance thru your travel agent. If you try to add them at the resort your looking at spending close to an additional 800 bucks
ChuKia
I am assuming you mean the rooms in the reserve area. These rooms are much nicer from the look of them on the outside. When we arrived they were offering the upgrade for an extra 500.00 US dollars. We chose not to upgrade, keep in mind the reserve area is further away from the beach.

Two Questions one about bugs and another about sportsbook5 answers
I have two questions
1. Is there a sportsbook in the casino or is there one close. I know the Hard Rock has a sportsbook but I believe that is far.
2. Saw a couple reviews that said resort is buggy is this still true even with everyone concerned about the zika virus
2 years, 33 months ago
USA
Please check with the resort directly for the most up to date information regarding their casino. If you have any further questions, you may contact the resort directly or call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
TimCC
The casino does not have sportsbook. It is very small - has about 20 slots and about 5 tables with blackjack, roulette, and craps. I was going to go to Hard Rock also but was also told it was a decent trip and didn't want to stray too far from the resort.
Mosquitos weren't as bad as I thought they would be. I only came home with about 3 bites but I pre-treated all my clothes with Permetherin and used repellent with 98% deet which I highly recommend.
hockeymagic21
I'm not sure but I would guess NO sport book
Zika is a thing from the past
I didn't even use my mosquito repellent
Dimples55
1. We didn't use the Casino.
2. We were there late February and didn't experience any bugs.
beachluv2017
Well this is a tropical location so bugs are going to be there, If you use mosquitoes replant then you should be fine, I don't think zyka is a concern anymore. Atleast we were not.
Sorry did not go Casino so can not comment on that

The green fees are all inclusive! The only additional cost you would incur is if you wanted to rent a golf cart or clubs. Hope this helps!

If you have any further questions, you may contact the resort directly or call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.

Depends on the resort, but All serve presidente.
Most have a few imports like heiniken or bud
Molovestotravel
They have Bud and one called Presidenta.
sunray
They have Budweiser in the rooms and El Presidente at the taps. That's it. If you are a craft beer person looking for something beyond pale lagers, enjoy the cocktails instead.
ChrisinIL
you will get only two kinds of beer, either presidente which is the local very light beer or budweiser.

What We'd Change
The resort at Paradisus Punta Cana is very large and spread out. And sometimes the wait for the shuttle is 15 or 20 minutes. But remember, waiting in paradise isn't a hardship.
Why You Should Go
Only 35 minutes from the Punta Cana airport. Your dream vacay will be here zippity zip.
Rally or beat the swim trunks off your opponent on four tennis courts. A little rivalry never hurt anybody.
You can tee off at the world-renowned Cocotal Golf & Country Club. Bring your A game.
In the surf, you can dive into kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving (for certified drivers).
On terra firma, there are guided hikes, bike tours, a rock climbing wall, paddle tennis and more.
There's killer entertainment: live music, Latin & Dominican parties, but that's just the tip of the beachberg.
