My 1st time there!

I went with my grandkids for 5 days. We had a great time. Breakfast Buffet and Dinner Buffet were great, no complaints, kids ate everyday so for that I was happy. The only thing that in the mornings you smell a foul smell coming from the ponds because the filters are off at night but once they back on in the morning, I want to say already by 10am you don’t smell it anymore. Remember is a natural eco park so it’s like a free zoo out there that you or rather kids can pet, feed, chase around and very entertaining to look at from many bridges. My room needs a little upgrade but u was told some rooms are upgraded, not all, it depends what building you are at. Overall it was great and very, very kid friendly.

My 1st time there!

Suprising...

The resort itself was surprisingly nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a nice view. The wildlife roaming around was fun. Cons: Major language barriers. The staff did not want to speak English with us. Luckily my husband spoke Spanish and they didn't realize that, which was quite comical that they thought we didn't know what they were saying and were insulting us for fun. My biggest frustration: I expressly requested adjoining rooms prior to the trip and prior to the check in. Kids in one and us in the other. When we got to our rooms they were not. I immediately went back to the check in and let them know we had to have adjoining for the kids. They claimed they didn't have any and told me the kids (5&11) would be safe in their own room. They said "No need to worry!" Not only did they have plenty of adjoining rooms but I proceeded to have to sleep with my kids in one room and husband in the other for the whole trip. It was ridiculous and petty! Inconsistent info from staff as to when things were open or closed. Restaurants and Spa are frequently closed (or maybe not) and they only make reservations for you if they want to. If you ask one person it's open and the next it's not. The kids club is only open if they have multiple children already present. A pain when you want to just drop them off for an hour and they say they can't unless more kids show up. How would we know when that would be? The food is the same daily and ok, very greasy though. No local cuisine. Seafood is not fresh and cooked to death, super fishy smelling. Alcoholic drinks are not alcoholic. All liquor seemed to be watered down or fake. I guess this is a good thing because they never have to cut anyone off. Pro: You can have as many cocktails are you want and never feel it. The wildlife is great for kids and adults. Very entertaining. The nighttime bar by the pool is really nice and relaxing. LIve music in the bar areas were good. Beach is nice, water is not (murky). Lots of empty areas to lounge. In the end, I really don't have any skin in the game. I bought my trip and paid for it already. My family had fun with eachother. But the staff needs to address internal issues with communication. Treat people the way you would want to be treated. I realize that you think Americans are giving you a bad name right now but don't take it out on your guests. We just came to have a good time!

Decent place but, older resort and room

If you're going to this resort be aware it is not modern and in bad need of a full reno. we would likely not recommend this property but for the money it was ok. Overall, the buffet food was good, the pool was nice, the bar poured drinks, there is a beach - but I would suggest looking elsewhere unless you are ok with spending less to make a trip happen

There's a nearby pool bar for those who wish to stay on the sidelines and a swim-up bar for the splash-around crowd. The resort also offers an exclusive children's pool with safety barriers as added protection for the junior set.
