Happy Honeymooners

We absolutely LOVED Melia. We have already recommended multiple people to this resort. We had mentioned that this was our honeymoon and from the very beginning took first class care of us. The staff is absolutely amazing, you can truly see that they care. You can also tell they are consistently working on improvements for the resort. It is a large resort but there are always staff golf carts to take you wherever you need. The beach was beautiful and so relaxing. We spent most of our time there though the pool is just as beautiful. They had a DJ or band in the lobby area every night and we loved having something to do after dinner. There are plenty of options for dining and the service at any of the restaurants was wonderful! Our room was in a great location, they had it decorated for our honeymoon the day we got there. It was clean and comfortable. We are already planning our return to Melia!!

solid choice

Spent 6 days 5 nights at Melia Punta Cana Beach resort- Adults only. The room was beautiful and cozy. The beach itself was beautiful with enough seating, but if the place was more crowded I would be wary. The drinks were plentiful and delicious Negatives - The restaurants were a solid 2 out of 5 stars. The buffet, for breakfast and lunch, for the most part was bland, and as it was open air (absolutely stunning views) the food was lukewarm. The dinner options available were sub-par, with us enjoying only 1, Alma, out of the others we attended. We also did the Japanese hibachi table for an extra cost, 50 pp, and were underwhelmed by the quality of food. - The "included" activities were a joke. The kayaking available was a 60ft (ish) area between the adult only beach and family only beach which they let you paddle around in. If you wish to take out one of their "sail boats" they require you to take a $35 course . The snorkeling was in the same area as the kayaking- nothing to see, no where to go - the try to oversell everything. The first day there we barely got into our room when we had a phone call to sign up for The Circle breakfast. Smelled like a timeshare call to me, I avoided it. Only to be called again the next day and anytime we were near the lobby were bombarded by the sale representatives. STAY CLEAR. People we met along the way hated it, and all you get is the SAME buffet breakfast you'd get at their own beach front restaurant.

Beautifull but lacking

We had an overall good experience at the resort. The people were very friendly and helpful, and the resort is beautifully laid out and landscaped and the beach was amazing, but the food is lacking and extremely bland. Also, we paid extra for the adults only option and all that really gets you is no kids on the adult side. The swim up pool/bar closes at 8 o’clock at night and the bars aren’t allowed to start serving alcohol until 10 in the morning. I paid for all inclusive adults only and I feel that we should be able to drink whenever we want, after all we are on vacation.

Great Experience minus the food

Loved this place as far as the location to the beach ( we did all inclusive adults beach caribe). I’d say overall the dinners were amazing minus the Mediterranean food which was pretty gross. Lunches and breakfasts weren’t great either since they had a buffet style cuisine. Other complaint is getting a ride around the resort(it’s huge) seemed like weekends there was transportation and other days total lack there of. Overall, this was my first experience w an all inclusive and I would recommend the resort if you stay beach side for sure. Just plan to drink more then eat for breakfast and lunch :)

What's to Love

Hangin' on the sugar-white sandy beach, cocktail in hand, watching the azure waves roll in.
De-stressing at the two delicious spas that each have private gardens and Jacuzzis.
The food - travelers reports that everything, especially the steak and lobster tails, is crazy good.
Two ginormous, free-form pools, each with swim-up bars for your day drinking pleasure.

What We'd Change

It might be gorgeous, but this place is huge! That's why we love the complimentary shuttles that take guests around the resort.

Why You Should Go

It's just 20 minutes from the airport - you'll be basking in the warm Dominican sun, pronto.
Adult beverages will be around every palm with all of the bars you have to choose from.
Bring your A game because a 27-hole championship golf course is right across the street.
