Feel in love with this resort! The staff was excellente. Very very nice and polite people. Everyone speaks!!! The food was amazing. With all of the options i only disliked one. Everyone who ate the lamb got sick. Other than that wonderful!!! The nightly entertainment was top notch. The rooms were comfortable. Need more space to put clothes. Our room only had one lamp as all the others had 3! We made fo. We upgraded to premium which was an ok thing to do. Have some complaints. The main one is the timeshare we were suppose to go view. As many of you know that when you go to these presentations you get an incentive. Well, we spoke wuth the rep to schedule our presentation for which thought our incentive would have been $50.00 to attend. My nephew was here in the DR a week before ys and rec'd 75. So 50 was cool. They were 8 people in our group. We got up early to meet up with the rep at 9;30 am . We were informed before we were leaving that the $50.00 was for the WHOLE group to split! Do the math $50.00 divided by 8! The craziest nonsense I've ever heard!!!! So please be aware of this scheme..... The other minor is as a preferred mbr supposed to get a choice of pillows never got. Morning newspapers never got. You only get 4 small bottles of spirits ONE time. They advertise they have more seats than guests and if needed to alert someone. Well, that didnt happen. We asked and just said sorry.... The hotel did a fantastic job handling the hurricane situation!!!!! I must compliment the staff on the part they played! Extremely professional! They held it down!!!! Made my first hurricane experience delightful and unforgettable! Hoping to return again soon!!!! Hola hola!!!!!

Great Experience

My girlfriend and I have never been to an all inclusive resort. Shopping around for a resort can be overwhelming with all of the options in the Caribbean. After reading hundreds of reviews on many resorts we finally decided on Dreams La Romana. From the time we got off of the plane the transport service was excellent. At the resort, all staff was very helpful and courteous. There are several restaurants to eat at that specialize in a different style. Several bars where you are only a few feet away from a cocktail. 24- hour room service was never a let down. If you go here, I highly recommend upgrading to the preferred club. The only knock we had while we were there, was that the air conditioner in our room on the 2nd floor was not the greatest. Also I would not fly into Santo Domingo airport again. I would rather fly into the Punta Canta airport. We ended up being delayed due to Hurricane Irma and was forced to stay 5 extra nights. The resort accommodated us with a more than reasonable rate. Definitely recommend travel insurance for this reason. Overall it was an excellent trip and you have to be very picky/ a complainer if you find many faults with the resort and the staff.

What a wonderful vacation!!

We recently returned from our first ever trip to The DR, and what a trip it was! We were very lucky to have traveled prior to the hurricanes all hitting down there. First of all, let me say this- the value of this resort is fantastic. The staff were all beyond friendly. I noticed that the housekeeping department and grounds crews were the ones who most frequently did not speak great English. However, they all made an effort to say hello and share a friendly smile. The room was very clean, and comfortable. The AC worked great, and we had no issues with drying things over night. There were several days where we were either still lounging in the room or had put the 'Do Not Disturb' hanger up while we went to breakfast, and missed the normal housekeeping hours. This wasn't a huge deal to us. BUT, they were so attentive and no matter when we came back to our room it was always cleaned, with the bed made, and fresh towels hanging. Even if they cleaned it in the morning, they came back through in the afternoon to replace wet towels and freshen up the mini fridge. It was fantastic. We never once had damp towels from showering after the beach, or getting ready to go in the morning. They were SO attentive. The bars were all great and Elizabeth makes the most amazing Limarita! The infinity pool was probably our favorite, with the swim up bar. We never had any issues with the strength or taste of out drinks. They always made exactly what we wanted, or were very willing to offer suggestions. Out only real complaint would probably be the size and layout of the beach. It's got lots of beach chairs, but not a ton of open beach area and unless you were out as the sun was rising in the morning, it was difficult to get a spot without tons of people blocking your beach view. That being said, there was a great little spot in between the infinity pool and the beach chairs that worked out well for setting up later in the morning and having access to both the ocean and the pool. Every restaurant we went to was well and above our expectations. The food was all great. The portion size was excellent and allowed us to enjoy each course without feeling stuffed afterwards. The buffet was very surprising with their offerings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The fresh fruit and fruit juices in the morning were amazing. The chocolate fountain in the afternoon was a pleasant surprise. Dinner was probably our least favorite at the buffet, but only because it just couldn't keep up with all the other restaurant options. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a table, anywhere we went. I can't say enough good things about this place. We definitely can't wait to go back. :-)

Stop Looking and Book!

I spent over a month looking at all the options and finally I decided to book the Dreams La Romana Resort and Spa Resort because of all the great reviews! This was my first All Inclusive trips and I LOVED IT!! Honestly, the staff there (Over 1200 according to the managers welcome event I attended while there) and they were all so helpful and so kind. I loved that the always say "it's my pleasure" and they honestly sound like they mean it. They go out of their way to make sure you are enjoying yourself and relaxing. There was not one staff member that I had a bad or even mediocre encounter with! I also really enjoyed Bernadette and Junior who were the bartenders at the Adults Only Preferred pool. I do have to say paying the extra money to go preffered adults only was worth every single penny! The pool was always relaxing, the bar drinks were amazing with the premium liquor. I enjoyed all the extra ammenities. We did end up being there during Hurricane Irma and they handled it very well and made sure we knew that we were safe and they had a plan if it was going to hit us. We did have our flight cancelled twice and ended up being delayed for an entire week!!! The staff was very nice and they did offer us an extreme discounted rate that they called a distressed rate. Now the food, it was great!! Is it the best food I have ever had? No, it is an all inclusive resort, not a five star restuarant. They do have some amazing options. One of my favorites is the Lobster Bebe at Olio. The world buffett has a lot of options, just isn't as good of food as the other options at the resort. There is always a chair or bed at the pool or beach!! When the hurricane came we had a lot of people from Zoetry come to our resort and that did cause it to be crowded at the pool, but the staff was more than happy to go get some more loungers and bring them to the pool side for us. It is so amazing how many people could be at the resort but it never felt crowded. In fact it always seemed to have so much room and like there were not many people there. You could only tell how many people were there by walking through the entire resort. All in all I loved every second at this resort! I will for sure be going back!!! Thank you to such a wonderful caring staff.

What's to Love

Cool towels and sparkling champagne - palate cleansers after the trek from the real world to Beach Heaven.

It's on an eco-friendly beach along a mind-blowing turquoise sea surrounded by a tropical wonderland.

Explorer's club (kids 3-12) that offers everything from sand castle competitions to arts & crafts.

Red Cross certified staff supervise the aforementioned club. A relief, right?

Parents get a pager from the Explorer's club, should they be needed for anything.

Italian-inspired architecture and manicured gardens that reflect a Mediterranean seaside paradise.

The Brazilian restaurant with churrasco-style cuisine and the lobster restaurant on the pier.

Colonially-inspired family-sized suites with classic decor and private balconies or terraces.

Luxury bath amenities sweeten the pot.

Butlers greeting you after excursions with chilled towels and tasty tropical drinks. This rocks.

The stress-squashing spa with palapas for oceanside massages and Jojoba Oil body exfoliations.

Outdoor hydrotherapy whirlpool baths, two saunas and a Vichy shower.

What We'd Change

The resort is pretty big, which makes for a lot of walking, but that way you can work off all the delicious food!

Why You Should Go

Only 40 minutes from two airports. Either way you get here, you can exhale - you're faraway from reality.

Upgrade to the Preferred Club and get upgraded rooms, access to a private lounge, and much more.

Golf at Teeth of the Dog, The Links and Dye Fore designed by architect Pete B. Dye.

The reef that's right off the beach is full of beautiful fish.

You can take a catamaran, sailboat or speedboat (hang on to your hats!) to dreamy Soana Island.

Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon are also a whisper away.

Rent a private pool for four for a day with the Corner Pool Package!

Connecting rooms, rollaway beds and cribs are available. Just ask.

You can try you luck (or lose your money) at blackjack, roulette and slot machines at the onsite casino.

There are tennis courts (with clinics) along with bike rentals. Woot!

Get your feet (and body) wet with boogie boarding, kayaks, snorkeling, and scuba diving (for a fee).

For laid-back chilling, catch some billiards, dance classes, and a giant chess board.

There's an inflatable iceberg on the beach, plus kids love the Euro-bungee and ocean trampoline.
