Dreams Dominicus 7-25 to 8-8-19

While we paid for Preferred Club status, it was very difficult to know the difference between preferred and non-preferred. We had to call on two different occasions to ask for slippers, toilet paper, bottled water and towels. We were locked out of our room on three different occasions, we were given several lame excuses as to the cause. Each time we had to go to the main desk and have our key reactivated. These all happened in the second week of our stay, each two days apart indicating that our proper period of stay was not programmed into the system prior to our arrival. In spite of providing daily gratuities to our attendant the housekeeping and the replenishment of supplies was inconsistent. This indicates poor supervision and audit of the housekeeping staff. We were extremely happy with all the food, bar and water facilities and their attending staff.

Dreams Dominicus a wonderful escape!

We booked this at the last minute when our son cancelled on us (that’ll show him). We got an amazing deal from Cheap Caribbean (more than 50 percent off)! So here are the highs and lows: —our flight was delayed by 4 hours and we were worried that our prepaid transfer wouldn’t be there, but they were there waiting for us with a smile on their faces! —-all workers at the resort were friendly, gracious, hardworking, and adorable —-the food was surprisingly good and the longest wait for a table was 10 minutes —-bring 100 dollars in singles -although everything is included, you will want to tip because these young people are so hardworking and really appreciates couple of bucks for a drink and 5-10 for dinner service —the couples massage is lovely and well worth the money —room is comfortable and centrally located (57203) Lows: —we booked Catalina Island excursion and it was just ok for the following reasons: 1. Sand fleas in the private beach (bring bug spray -I have welts everywhere) 2. Very rough boat trip (if you get sea sick -skip it) 3. Due to rough waters -only 15 minutes of snorkeling in ocean 4. The fake ancient village was a tourist trap 5. Lunch was good, service was lovely and snorkeling at the beach was fun) —-at Dreams, they try to up-sell you a preferred room -we passed and enjoyed our stay —-they also try to get you to attend a time share -skip it ——you will be hit up for Lobster, and other extras a number of times throughout your stay -politely decline Overall: A wonderful, cheap trip and we highly recommend it! Ps. Joanna the main lobby bar manager is our favorite!!!

Great time

We had a great time, beautiful beach and pool. Resort is smaller so walks to beach and buffet are easier to manage. Preferred building is across the street and has elevator, all other building do not have it, they were able to accommodate our family somehow close to each other. Water sports like kayak and catamaran are included and easy to book. Cons-there is only one buffet option for the non-preferred members, it gets crowded and sometimes you have to wait in lune outside depending on the time, inside the service is a hit or miss, some servers are great others are slower, they all work super hard to please you. Only saw one person tipping at the bar. Explore's cub for kids was excellent.

What's to Love

As of June 2018 you can bring your furry friend along!

Champagne and icy towels that set the stage for the bliss that's ahead.

The Italian-inspired architecture + manicured gardens - Mediterranean seaside paradise.

Fresh tropical fruit available from noon-4pm. Now that's delish take-away.

Explorer's club (kids 3-12) with sand castle competitions and arts & crafts.

Red Cross certified staff supervise the aforementioned club. A relief, right?

The Hydrotherapy circuit and State of Bliss spa package. Spoil-worthy.

The delicious fun of windsurfing, catamarans and kayaks. (A fee, but dive in!)

Watching a movie on a blanket on the sand under the stars. Dreamy.

Private candlelight dining on the beach. You in?

What We'd Change

This kid-friendly resort has lots of families, so you're kids are going to have a blast. If you need quiet time, head to the spa.

Why You Should Go

It's 20 minutes from the La Romana airport - Beach Eden is just a heartbeat away.

It's close to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon.

There are beach and pool aerobics - get wet, wild and exercise-y.

Connecting rooms are available, so it's great for families.

When you come in from the sun, you can cool down with ping pong and board games.

Check out snorkeling and the PADI diving center. (A fee. But worth it).

For something totally different & to make you feel small, there's a giant chess board.

Set sail on boat and fishing excursions. There's a charge, but you'll be hooked.

How about dance and Spanish lessons? It's free and only requires feet & mouth coordination.

World-class golf is near, for a fee. But playing on these greens is Bucket List Worthy.
