I’m going to say that the Beach was scenic and clean. The food was tasteless and not readily available. The resort had no problem with running out of everything. Usually in an all-inclusive place you can have access to food at all times. Not so here. I will say that coming here will be at your own risk. I promise you will not have a memorable vacation. I can now check curaçao off of my bucket list.....smdh

Everything Just Ok

What I liked the most about Sunscape Curacao was that it was laid back and quiet. And the fact that our room was literally just feet from the water. What we found to be a farce was the VIP personnel, specifically Joanery & Tyrone. We met with them to schedule a couple of excursions while we were there. We also decided to "Go through" their presentation for Vacations as were promised that it was different and NOT a timeshare sales pitch. We also let her know up front (several times) that we had no plans to buy into whatever they were selling. Against our better judgement we did it so we could get one of our excursions for free. This is where things get sketchy. We chose a snorkeling trip to The Blue Room and a 4 wheel ATV excursion. Joanery calls Tyrone over to call someone to book these for us and to tell us which one would be paid for with the gift from the presentation. We were given a calendar of the weeks events with the dates and pick up times for the excursions on it. (Oh BTW you don't pay for the excursions prior to going, you pay the day of) So we went to the lobby for the presentation the next morning where are assigned to Kevin our sales person who was very nice and did an excellent job. However he was new and requested some assistance from his mentor who pretty much blew him off. We found this to be very disturbing and if his actions represent what he is selling and the way you could be treated in the future we wanted no part of it even more. So at this time we decided we were done as it had been 2.5 hours at this point. We got our gift and that was that. The next day we were getting ready to go on our snorkeling trip when we get a call telling us our ride was there waiting for us in the lobby. It was 30 minutes earlier than we were told so we had to scramble & throw our things together & run to the Lobby which was only a minutes walk away. This trip was Amazing and our guide was excellent, however there was issue with using our gift coupons given to us at the presentation. The guide was told we were to pay him and they only took cash??? Long story short the guide called hid boss who accepted the coupons and took the matter up with Sunscape to get his money. The day before we go home is our ATV excursion. We arrive 20 minutes early to the lobby for our ride. We sit there for 45 minutes and no one comes. One of the workers noticed and asked if he could help. He ended up calling the ATV place and we were picked up in 10 minutes. We get to the place and are told that they don't have 2 ATV's left & we'll have to ride together. NO That is not what we booked and we not going to pay you to screw us over. We put down the clipboards that had the waiver we were supposed to sign on it and left. Walked back to the hotel. I would advise anyone looking to go on excursions to book online when you book your trip, that way you will have confirmation of what you booked. The food was just ok nothing special at any of the options available. The workers here work very hard are very friendly and accommodating.

Sunscape Curacao Resort

I would not recommend this resort. The first thing we noticed when we got there was that some of the staff were unfriendly, and even a bit rude. They did not give us any kind of orientation to tell us about the resort. We had to figure it out on our own. When we got to our room, there was no shower curtain, no towels, no bath mat, no wash cloths. It was 10PM by the time they got this resolved. The shower didn't drain properly, the TV didn't work. This resort is all inclusive, yet we had to beg to get a few extra bottles of water in our room. The food was fair at best. The restaurants didn't open on time. On a positive note, the city tour guide was great. Very informative. Great personality. The beaches were beautiful, clean. The climate is great. But the resort as a whole needs much improvement.

Worth it if you get the cheapest dates

I have mixed feelings on this review. the resort was not the best I've been to. it is VERY kid friendly, I think they even allow them for free - personally, I can't stand being around too many children - but luckily we spent most of our time on excursions. Food was pretty awful, especially for breakfast. I managed to eat some stuff for lunch/dinner at the buffets, and the restaurants I ate at(Italian/hibachi) were not very good. I also ate off the resort with not much better luck so not sure if it is just the island in general. My boyfriend and I do not eat seafood and we wondered if that cuisine would have been better since it is local/fresh. every single hotel staff member we encountered were very nice and smiled, but service is a little slow at times - especially the bars, they really should have more staff working to accommodate all the guests and drinking needs on an inclusive vacation. there was a small mixup with rooms when we first arrived, but it was resolved quickly and we even got an upgraded room out of it, so that was great. turn down service was excellent and checking in/out was also very smooth. there is security and that was reassuring but it was odd that the resort was literally ON the main road, not secluded at all. bus stop was only a few feet away, which came handy for traveling into town when the complimentary shuttle was booked. I never booked an all inclusive vacation before, and this was the first time through cheapCaribbean, and it was flawlessly. I do recommend this resort over all, but I definitely would not have picked dates with higher prices knowing what I know now. so I think I got a good value from everything but I would have been even more disappointed if the prices were hiked.

What's to Love

Red carpet check-in at Sunscape Curacao while relishing welcome treats like chocolate chip cookies or frozen pops.

Delicious treatments like strawberry hydrating facials and chocolate mani/pedis. Yum.

The luscious body wraps (for those who don't want to be tempted with naughty, sugary treatments).

The casino (adults-only) with over 300 slot machines and games (if you get too sun burned & wanna cool off).

Cool, exercise-y stuff to check out like a rock climbing wall and Sumo wrestling.

You can learn Papiamentu - a language that is mix of Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, English and French.

60 pristine, world-renowned diving sites. Here, you can really make a splash. (Ba dum dum).

Getting to feed turtles, sharks, stingrays, plus a dolphin experience at Sea Aquarium Park.

What We'd Change

The shore is close to the hotel, so you won't take long walks through the sand to get to the ocean. But if taking long walks on the beach is your thing, you can always walk along the shoreline.

Why You Should Go

It's just 10 miles away from the airport. Woot!

The Sun Club, a family-centric program with everything from room upgrades to cartoons in the rooms.

The island is outside of the hurricane belt, so it's good to visit year-round.

It's two miles away from Willemstad, where you can enjoy world-class shopping along with historic sightseeing (if you're into that kind of thing).

Golf is available at the nearby Blue Bay Golf Course and there are two lit tennis courts.

The beach is close to the hotel, so no long trek to reach the ocean.

Eco-adventure tours are available. Bring your bug spray, just in case.
