Nice boutique hotel

The Waves Hotel & Spa by Elegant Hotels is a quaint little boutique hotel sitting beach side on the north side of Barbados. It is a small hotel so the vibe is intimate as staff quickly knows each guest. The rooms are well appointed with a nice little ocean view. I would recommend requesting a higher level room for a more unobstructed ocean view. We were on the 1st level and first sight is a big metal roof. My friend and I were on girls trip and the room was spacious with 2 twin beds. They also provide a drying rack on the balcony that is handy for drying your swim wear. There is no mini bar in the room. The property is comprised of 2 buildings, the main building (beach access and majority of rooms), and the 2nd building across the street (adults only pool, spa, Shiso asian restaurant, and a few rooms). There is a very small pool about the size of a bath tub in the main building, which no one uses. Definitely a beach focused property. In regards to the true all inclusive, note that the included spa services are mini 30 minute versions. There are about 4 "express" options to choose from including facial and scalp massage. The motorized water sports are tubing and water skiing. There are non motorized including kayak, paddle board, and wind sail. Restaurants: there are technically 3 restaurants on property, 2 in the main building and 1 in the 2nd. The main restaurant is buffet style for breakfast and lunch, and also sometimes for dinner. This restaurant doesn't open for breakfast until 7:30 and lunch until 12:30. The other restaurant in the main building is kind of like a deli. Shiso is by far the best food and I would recommend dining here several times. Note it is closed on Thursday. The beach is quite small but they have plenty of lounge chairs so it isn't an issue getting a decent seat. The water is nice and easy to take a swim. All beaches in Barbados are public so they can't control outside services being sold such as jet ski. There are some beach vendors that also come to sell their wares. All in all this is a nice property that I would recommend if you aren't looking for a mega resort.

Very Accomodating Hotel

We found the hotel staff to be very friendly. The hostess remembered our dietary habits each night and found items on the menu for us to help us decide. They also remembered the drinks we ordered and would ask before bringing to beach, just to verify, but we found it very respectful. The spa is a definite must do. The massages are wonderful and very relaxing, which is for 17+ ages. There is an adults only pool by the spa which is across the street from the main hotel by the beach. It has a much nicer pool than the main hotel, but again is for 17+ ages. The beach is rather small, but very secluded. The hotel includes water sports such as skiing, kayaks and catamaran rides. You can pay for jet skiings and glass bottom boat rides to see turtles. Overall a very relaxing place to visit without crowds.

Wonderful Caribbean Experience

Waves Hotel and Spa was an amazing place to stay in Barbados. The staff are all so kind and pleasant and happy to help whenever we had questions. The resort itself was really relaxed and beautifully maintained, comfortable and calm. We ate several times at both restaurants and always enjoyed our meals. The rooms were very comfortable and had just the right amount of amenities. If I had any complaints it would be that the water in the shower never really got hot, but with average temperatures of 80 degrees it wasn't really a bad thing to cool off. The A/C in the room worked really well, too, so we were always comfortable. The beachfront at this hotel was breathtaking. All beaches in Barbados are public, but the beach was never crowded and we were always able to find lounge chairs. We had the same experience at the pool. It was so quiet and peaceful on the adult side, and the spa portion of the pool was really nice! The spa was also awesome. I would definitely recommend getting a massage and/or a manicure/pedicure. The staff at the spa were so wonderful and did great work! This is the second all-inclusive resort I've visited (the other was in Mexico) and I loved Waves so much that I will definitely be back! I also loved the country, and would recommend a visit to Barbados to anyone looking for a tropical holiday (especially if you like rum!).

Great Customer Service

Everything about this hotel was great! The customer service was awesome and the food was good. The only thing I would recommend is that the food options are open late night and more entertainment throughout the resort and the entertainment last longer than 10:30pm. Everything else was great!
