Disappointment

My husband and I just returned from our 2nd visit to the Riu. our first experience which was in 2013 celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary was remarkable! The service was incredible as well as the staff providing us with friendly smiles and generosity. With that said we decided to return for our 36th anniversity with the assumption that we would be able to recreate memories. Since our last visit in 2013, renovations had taken place to the resort which resulted in various cosmetic changes. Don't get me wrong the interior was beautiful, however, there is now one inside bar to accommodate the entire hotel in the evening which became hectic and the bar staff treated us like we were non paying hotel guest. The fact that you were not permitted to enjoy your cocktail by the ocean (no glass outside which you can provide plastic cups)let alone the lack of outside entertainment put a big damper on the evenings. The staff lacked attentiveness from the meals to simply asking a question. My husband and I will probably not visit this resort again but Please make some changes to your entertainment, provide other resources and/or options. Make it feel like an adult hotel!

Awesome honeymoon!

We stayed at the Riu for our honeymoon. It’s a beautiful hotel! The remodel is awesome- the beach is perfect! The water is to die for! The restaurants were delicious! The infinity bar was packed with younger people but we didn’t care bc we couldn’t get off the beautiful beach or out of the ocean anyway! It’s beautiful though- the bars were amazing the shows are cute- probably could use some better dances lol but the kids in then are awesome! The rooms are great- the cleaning services throughout the hotel are amazing- always cleaning & keeping floors clean! I only gave four stars bc they hotel lost power- two nights in a row. They said the entire island lost it & they ran in generators for a good three hours- the hotel lost air condition & the room got Hot hot hot!!! When it came back on it was freezing! That was all pretty uncomfortable to sleep in on vaca! All in all- we had an amazing vaca & honeymoon!! I would definitely recommend the Riu!!

Allrite Resort

The resort was decent. Lacked food options and food was decent at best. we lost electricity two days out of the four and they were gone for 6 to 7 hrs which is a norm on the island but there was no AC running in the resort while next door at Atlantis they had AC running. The customer service could be better as this was one of the worst we have faced during any of our travels at other resorts.

Can’t wait to return!

We traveled here in July 2019. Everything has been updated and is new. Food was beyond excellent. We loved everything on the buffet. There were so many delicious options. My husband and I loved the cinnamon rolls, pastries, and donuts. They all tasted freshly made everyday. Desserts to die for. I have a sweet tooth. I also enjoyed trying all the different seafood on the buffet like konch fritters and many different seafood salads. We only went to two restaurants because we enjoyed the buffet so much. We went to the steakhouse and to Krystal and both were delicious. My husband didn’t think he would enjoy Krystal but we said we would go to the buffet after if we didn’t like it... we loved all the food and did not go to the buffet after. We also never got sick and we drank the water everyday and brushed our teeth with the tap water. Everything was so amazing- pools, beach, snorkeling in walking distance, Atlantis in walking distance, drinks, balcony view, clean comfy bed, staff absolutely wonderful and kind. Please tip All of them and often!! I will only give one small negative review for Riu and that is that the nightly shows were not that exciting. There were a few music and dancing shows that we only watched half of them and decided to leave. They did have a night that people played “guess the song” game that was fun and then there was a dj with dancing. If you are looking to party and dance there are many opportunities for that. If you are looking for more low key things to do at night there are show or walks through the casino, or around the marina.

What's to Love

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

Primo beachfront locale - three miles of satiny sand hugged by luscious, aquamarine water.

The Renova Spa - the massages squeeze the stress right out of your bod.

The rockin' theme nights twice a week - get ready to kick it. Put on your party pants.

Krystal Fusion Restaurant - it's a journey into the unexplored terrain of epic new sensations.

The unfailing, beachtastic service & attention. You'll feel like the beach royalty that you are.

Did we mention this resort has the only infinity pool in all of Nassau/Paradise Island?

What We'd Change

You may not find as many on-site activities like the other mega resorts, but the prime beachfront property makes up for it.

Why You Should Go

There's a hoppin', Vegas-style casino next door - grab sweet Lady Luck and try your hand.

The water sports (jet skis, water skiing & more) will blow you out of the water. Hang on!

You can dive into aahh-mazing excursions like swimming with the dolphins.

Atlantis next door has a great nightclub when you want to get your dance on.

The inventive entertainment staff is off-the-charts creative. They won't disappoint.

You're close to downtown Nassau - see the old quarter, museums, zoo and botanical gardens.

Hotel Description

Riu Palace Paradise Island (Adults-Only): All-Inclusive Bahamas Bonanza

Bahama Mama Mia does this Riu have it all. And then some. Let's start with the dreamy, three-mile stretch of silky sand, where you can chillax, get your drink on (and on - no one's counting) and ignore the world, or hit a game of beach volleyball and burn some calories. And that's just the tip of the beachberg. Toggle between the Jacuzzi at the epic infinity pool and indulge in stress-ousting treatments at the lush spa aka Relaxation Central, or hit the slots next door and hang at the always-festive, hip bars until the sea cows come home. Is that a "yes" we hear? When might we expect you?

It's Time to Get Your Riu On.
