Not the best All-inclusive

This was our first time to the Bahamas and when flying in over the water it looked beautiful! The views were great with beautiful turquoise waters but the beach at the resort needed some work! There was a lot of corrosion so hard not soft sands. Also there was a lack of entertainment while we were there. They did have either a DJ or music playing every night but nothing like shows or theme nights. The restaurants were OK but we didn't like that 4 out of the 7 restaurants you had to make reservations for. The best restaurant is by far the Nikkei which is an Asian one but definitely ask for the hibachi! This was awesome food, great flavor and 5 course meal! The buffet was good for breakfast and lunch but we never tried it for dinner. The room was nice and clean. The service was ok but nothing to really rave about. There was a couple people that stood out during our trip that always seemed happy and ready to help. Both were named Patrick coincidentally, one was a bartender that we saw either at the inside lobby bar or outside pool bar depending on the day. The other was entertainment, he was always dancing or on the microphone making jokes! Overall, we had a good trip definitely relaxing and warm! If you want to just sit out by the water or pool and not do much this is the resort for you!

Beware of this resort for now.

I would like to say that we were very underwhelmed with this resort. We travel a lot and this place was very out-dated. They are under construction and it was very noticeable. You could smell gas at the pool side bar and noise. We had upgraded our room because of the construction. It cost us an additional $200 for this convenience and we had to settle for a 2 bed room. This took 3 hours for them to find a room. The overall inside/pool is very nice and the staff is mostly friendly. We were disappointed, along with our guests that they shut down certain sections of the outdoor breakfast/lunch area. We were here at their resort to experience a vacation feel and if we wanted to sit by an outdoor window to experience a vacation feel, then we should. Instead we were yelled at to move to another section to accommodate them. The food in the special restaurants was good, not great. And if you do not have a reservation and there is empty chairs, they will not accommodate you. The food in buffet section was like high end cafeteria food. The drinks at the pool bar were extremely sweet to the point that I started to drink beer. I hope they get their construction done soon and hire an executive chef to elevate their menu because this was the general feeling with everyone we talked too.

Best Purchase Ever

I'm still on my vacation, even though I'm home and back to reality. It was absolutely beautiful. My car service to the airport was great. Delta airlines was fantastic.. Melia Resort All Inclusive was Absolutely fantastic, I couldn't have asked for a better place. The room, view, service, cleanliness, everyone on the staff always had a friendly hello and a smile everyday that we were there!!! A 5 star rating isn't enough.***************** I have recommended it to people already, best vacation ever!!!

Was just ok - had higher expectations

The pics on the website are fabulous (and the resort does have a nice vibe) and the beach was indeed awesome. Clean with lots of chairs. Lots of hagglers trying to sell you stuff which got a tad annoying at times. As for the resort offerings and overall experience, I was kinda disappointed. We were woken up before 7am (on our first getaway without our children) due to heavy construction. One of the pools was entirely shut down. I wasn’t impressed by the food at all. In fact, there was only one restaurant I really enjoyed. Top she’ll liquor wasn’t part of the all inclusive which I didn’t realize. It became one of those 4 day trips where I felt like I didn’t really eat anything really healthy. The bartenders were ok. Nice enough but not over the top friendly like you’d expect on a tropical getaway. Not sure I’d go back. But it was affordable and offered a great beach which was really our priority. Had lots of floats in the ocean to use and paddle boards, kayaks, etc.
