Not able to get ANY reservations for All Inclusive

Even though we paid for an All Inclusive plan, we were not able to get reservations into the dining options. We checked mulitple times a day and were constantly told to come back or that it was sold out. We were told to talk to the person directly at the restraurant and all but one person were so rude to us, like we had no right to ask to be seated even though so many tables were empty. We were constantly told to come back at 9:00 and they would see if we could be seated. One person did go above and beyond and got us seated after I explained that we could not get in anywhere except the Market and Tapa places. The hotel room air conditioner started making screeching noises in the middle of the night forcing us to turn it off until morning...uggg

Great Vacation!

We had a great time! Lil Mo’ by the beach was awesome with our drinks!! Kimberly was a great girl that helps with the restaurants!!! My only complaint would be the restaurants are very hard to book!!! You need to book the first day and then you still might not get to eat in them!! We had a very rude girl working in the Cilantro restaurant that had 8 tables open at 9:00pm and kept telling us we needed to wait to be seated in case her 8:30 reservations showed up!! Then she didn’t want us standing in her lobby so kept asking us (the only people waiting) to move outside in the hallway. I think her name started with a M? We payed for all these restaurants and they will take walkins toward the end of the night....but make sure not to get the M girl!!!

Big Disappointment!!!

We just returned last night from our week in The Bahamas. I guess you could say this review is somewhat skewed because we only stayed 1 night at the Melia. So here is the break down of the 24 hours we were there... Our room wasn’t ready when we got here which was ok so we decided to grab lunch. We headed out to the O Grille. It took at least 10 minutes for someone to finally come to the hostess desk and seat us. Once you are seated, get ready to wait another 20 minutes to order. The menu is very limited only a couple of options. We finally ordered a couple of drinks and food. Once the food got to us, fish and burgers...it was all cold. Of course the waitress forgot our drinks and we finally got those when we finished lunch. The Grille is right next to the adult pool which is a site in itself. I know it’s spring break and we expected to see some kids here but this resort is at least 70% spring break kids! After our cold lunch, we went back to see if the room is ready...still not so I decided to go ahead and get on our swim suits. I tried to make reservations of course that was a failure! You can only make reservations 2 days in advance and nothing was available for the next 2 nights. They recommended the Tapas place because you didn’t need reservations...well that didn’t work out and I will get to that later! Of course the room was ready as soon as we got changed. We are on the 3rd floor, pool view. The rooms are very average. Nothing fancy but I can handle that as we didn’t come for the room. Oh and we didn’t have a single towel in our room!!! Now we head down to the beach. This is the hotels only saving grace. The water is beautiful! The beach was very crowded...I finally found a couple of chairs. I think I saw one waitress on the beach so the hubby headed to the bar to get us a drink. Wow...that was horrible. The bar tenders are mad at everyone which I don’t blame them! They are serving hundreds of drunk kids! My husband tried to order a drink with Captain Morgan and the bar tender just said no and went to another person..,nothing about that it is more expensive, etc or you just get the regular brand of liquors. Finally he got drinks and headed back to the beach. We decided to head to the pool. The water was warm and my girls had fun exploring. My best friend and her family show up to check in. Just in time to see a young girl get carted off in a wheelchair for being drunk!!! I tried to order food for her kids so they could eat as soon as they got here...you can’t get anything to go at the O Grille...so weird. So I ordered for them...of course another cold meal. We headed back to the pool after they ate. We found a couple chairs and a table which had what we think was poop on it...like a dirty diaper had been changed on it...gross!!! Well now it’s time to get ready for dinner! I have 2 little girls and they want to take a warm bath...the drain doesn’t work! Ok now we are ready to head to the tapas restaurant because we don’t need reservations right? There are 8 of us...no room and not sure when there will be room? Can we wait...they don’t know? What??? I check with Aqua...can we get in? Nope...when I ask about all the open tables??? Those are reserved? Hmmm... we never saw another person walk down to that restaurant for the next hour!!! Now we have to leave the resort to eat. We decide to take our chances at the Fish Fry even with the Travel Advisory about going there! Thank goodness we did! The food was amazing and everyone was very nice. We head back to our hotel thinking we will grab a drink and dessert somewhere. Back to the Tapas place. Can we just get dessert...is that confusing? They didn’t like that but they finally sat us down. 20 mins...no one comes so we just leave. First day in the books and it really sucked! We got up the next morning and booked the next 4 nights at the Atlantis! Also Melia will not refund anything! Do not stay at this hotel! Cheap Caribbean should really consider moving this resort from their inventory!!!

Mixed feelings

On arrival was a bit disappointed by the overall outdated and need for repair appearance. Rugs have stains and rips in hallways and rooms. Restaurants have outstanding service. Best restaurant was the Italian. Overall food was good but lacks a lot of choices. All bars and especially at the pool did not have enough bartenders and service was poor. Have been to a good number of all inclusive and is at the bottom of the list. We were there for a 5 day visit and it served its purpose. Rooms are very basic and run down but served it purpose since most of the time was spent outside of the room. Maid service was good. Not sure I would go back since the overall quality was not that great. Overall need for upkeep is needed.
