Wonderful experience

The experience in the Bahamas was much needed. The customer service, room accommodations, dining choices, beach entertainment, and overall experience in the country was second to none. The wife and I truly enjoyed our experience.

It's was ok, but wouldn't stay there again

It was disappointing that when we booked this with Cheap Carribean it said on the resort that it was "adult only". That's what we wanted since this was a vacation away from our children. When we arrived, there were kids everywhere. There was an adult only pool and bar, but the resort was for families and kids. So that was very upsetting. The excursion we booked in advance with Cheap Carribean ended up not happening cause the boat was dry docked so that was disappointing. Our friends tried to have champagne and choc strawberries sent to our room for our Anniversary and they said they called the hotel multiple times weeks before our trip to set it up and no one would help them. and someone was supposed to mail them a slip to purchase those items, it was never sent. Our phone in our room didn't work. I told the front desk 3 times and someone never came to fix it like they promised. Every time we wanted room service, we had to walk down to the front desk to order it, which defeats the purpose of not having to leave your room. Our balcony handle kept breaking off every time we opened it. (We paid extra for a beach view room that we couldn't go out on the balcony sometimes). The food was pretty good and the bartenders/wait staff was very nice. Not a ton of activities to do or entertainment at night.

Disappointing

We were so excited to get away for a beach vacation and decided that for our purposes all inclusive would be the way to go. We didn’t have intentions of leaving the resort for more than a day or two of sightseeing and our trip was going to be for a week. Initially, we were very impressed with the cleanliness of the resort and the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff. But throughout our stay, the trip became more and more disappointing. First off, Right when we arrived at the hotel, we were offered an upgrade to a oceanview room for $350 for the week. We went ahead and bought the upgrade, but when we arrived at our room, the view was disappointing. It was more of a pool view with a partial Oceanview. No big deal, I wasn’t going to let it ruin my vacation so we unpacked our stuff and settled in for the week. Next was food. The only option for breakfast was the marketplace unless you paid to upgrade to the level, which we didn’t want to. The marketplace is a buffet, and the food is what you would expect from a buffet. It was good for a couple of days, but after that we were tired of cold French toast and scrambled eggs! For dinner, the marketplace and tapas lounge are the only two options unless you make reservations. This is hard to do when you’re vacationing and don’t want to plan every minute of your day! By day 4 we were so tired of the marketplace though that we made reservations for the rest of our dinners. The food at cilantro (a Mexican styled restaurant), Nellie (Asian inspired), and black angus(steak house) was phenomenal. Way better than anything else we had eaten, and the only negative was that you had to make reservations in advance. My spouse ended up getting sick while we were there so we ordered room service for a couple of days and the food was good, delivered hot and fast. They charge a delivery fee for non Level guests. With one of our dinners I ordered cheesecake for dessert and had mine almost finished when I noticed mold on it. I checked the other cheesecake and it was covered in mold too! That right there pretty much sums up the whole experience...looks great until you dig in and then it’s just a big disappointment. If you want to just sit and drink on the beach I would definitely recommend this place. It needs some work cosmetically, but overall is a nice place to stay. Just make sure you have piles of $1 bills in your pocket for a tip at the bar or the bar tenders will look right past you to the next guy. Some of the staff are AMAZING. Super friendly and helpful. Some of the staff are just plain rude. It’s a crapshoot every time you need something from them. Bottom line, knowing what I know now, I would go back to this resort, but with much lower expectations and only if it was the only place to stay for the price.

Im Not Picky!!! Thank you Melia and staff

I really have nothing negative to say about this resort.. if you take advantage of the restaurants the food is delicious from buffet seafood steaks peas and rice desserts fruits i was very surprised!! I would advise to make Dinner reservations as soon as you check in Do Not wait because spots fill up quickly!! We were able to upgrade our room for a small fee. Rooms were comfortable room service was friendly... the bar staff and concierge were polite as well...If you have kids they have oversized games in the lobby ex:Jenga, Connect four and ping pong there are also board games for families too... I didn’t take advantage of the pool but We did Enjoy the swim up bar.. I would also advise doing excursions I booked threw majaestic tours and they are located in the lobby... the sub adventure was the best and the food at the tour was excellent... Would I return to the Bahamas Yes, Would I return to Melia Yes!! next time I’ll stay longer so I can visit the towns fish fry and enjoy the local shops ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
