Great Trip

The best thing about this resort is the beach. The rooms are on the Marina which is also beautiful; however, it is the beach that is of most interest to us. We have been all over the Caribbean and found this to be one of the best. Our room was dated; however, it was adequate for what we needed and very clean which is of the most importance to us. Because the rooms are on the marina side, you do need to walk to the beach; however, it is less than 5 minutes. You can rent golf carts on site which I would recommend if you are taking a lot to the beach; however, we didn't so I don't know the price. We loved the Cocoa's Restaurant which is on the beach; however, they were priced higher than some of the restaurants we visited off the resort which is normal. The area is very secluded so there weren't many people around which we really liked. The evenings could get a little dull; however, they do try to have theme nights at some of the resort restaurants which was nice. I saw families sit in the restaurants and play cards which I thought was a good idea and one of their restaurants had some pool tables as well. My only negative with the Cheap Caribbean package was the flight with Silver Airways. I would not recommend them at all. Both of our flights were delayed by hours (caused us to miss our connecting flight on the way back); however, many people were delayed a few nights because of weather, mechanical, and staffing issues. Overall, we were extremely happy with our trip and look forward to returning.

Good value on a fun getaway

Room was nice but in need of renovation, they seem to be renovating building by building in the resort. Maid service was terrific, half of the waitstaff were good and attentive, half were pretty bad. Considering the cost of a meal (and tipping potential) they need to step up the waitstaff. The pool was pathetic and the pool restaurant "Tipsy Seagull" pretty bad. I found an extra crispy fly in my fish sandwich and lots of bones. The beach restaurant "Cocos" had excellent food but was overpriced, travel down the road to the Bahamas Beach club for better service, food, and a really nice pool. The beach itself is SPECTACULAR. Beautiful turquoise water, white sand, really breathtaking. It is long enough to take a really long walk, to Treasure Cay's credit, there are lots of public access "greenways" that lead up to the road. Rent bicycles, the rental is cheap and you need the exercise ;) Bike around to the windward side of the island, its beautiful and you can fantasize about which vacation home you want to buy there. Rent a boat if you know what you're doing. The Abaco sea is pretty, there are lots of outer Cays to visit (the piglets on Noname Cay are adorable, their parents bite and are food aggressive) There is great snorkeling on the barrier reefs as well. I've never seen so many sea fans in my life as I did on the outside of the barrier reef. There is a terrific cafe in the plaza buildings, eat there for lunch. The resort leaves a lot of money on the table in my opinion. We don't drink but serving drinks to the beach chairs seems kind of "101" to me. The sports guy was nowhere to be found. I'm an avid paddleboarder and wanted to rent a board one day but couldn't find the guy. Also, I'd sell the "local" angle. Although Coconuts are everywhere, there were none on the menu anywhere that I saw, nor local fruit like Pineapples, Mangos, or Grapefruit. Overall, Treasure Cay is gorgeous, the accommodations were absolutely fine, the food at Cocos was very good, and my wife and I would definitely go back there. I'd bring my own kiteboarding gear, there was great kiteboarding but no one to rent equipment or guide. If you want to bring a drone, you need to register it ahead of time with Bahamas and please be courteous, this place is about natural beauty all the way, don't harsh peoples relaxation by buzzing around the populated portions of the beach.

great place to relax

The hotel staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Doing a lot of renovations because the rooms are a bit run down. Pool area on the marina with a bar and restaurant very convenient. The beach is a short walk across the road and the blue water is spectacular. Powdery white soft sand, best I've ever seen. Supermarket 3 minutes away you can walk to it prices are two and a half times what you'd expect in the states. Eating at restaurants food was mediocre at best. Weber charcoal grill outside our door,, we grilled dinner almost every night. Wish we had made arrangements for a bigger room with a full kitchen there are some available for more money and it would have been worth it to have a big refrigerator and a stove to cook meals on. Next time! Recommend this place. Great value for the money. Don't come here if you want nightlife, shopping, sightseeing. Good to see there were no bugs!

Great Mid Size Resort Middle of the Island of Abaco. My Room /Duplex was mostly renovated. Great view of the Marina. Easy walking distances to amenities/Shopping plaza. Everyone friendly & Helpful at The Resort. My package was hotel&Airfare...but Several restaurants on site n nearby with a range of foods & range of prices can truly satisfy. Also plenty of activities on site or nearby. Definitely want to return. Employees, Inga ,felicia & Avis most helpful.. Thanks for the memories

What's to Love

Abaco is a heavenly, off-the-beaten-path kind of spot. Not too touristy. Just pure beachy fun.

Treasure Cay Golf Course is at the resort - the only one in Abaco. For realz.

Sugary, white sands and peaceful turquoise waters - ahhhh-mazing.

Kitchens in the condos - it's nice to have a place to cook (if so desired) or to keep your favorite snacks and drinks on hand.

Fresh seafood, local favorites, fruity smoothies and tons of epic cocktails can be enjoyed at the rockin' onsite restaurants and bars.

Splash-worthy, water sports available on the island.

What We'd Change

I was hoping for more nightlife, but it was so nice to unwind, relax and truly recharge on this vacation.

Why You Should Go

One of the world's top ten beaches is out back. (Yep, it's that cool).

Fishing is primo - Red Snapper and Florida Lobsters abound here.

150 boat slips at the marina - if you don't want to rent a boat, grab a cocktail and enjoy watching the beautiful boats sail on by.

Coin laundry and full service laundry are available.

Sparkling Abaco Pure Water is ready and waiting for you at the resort.

Shops, restaurants and grocery stores located nearby, should you venture out for souvenirs, get the itch to explore or forget your toothbrush.
