Best vacation ever

We wanted to do something different for our 30th wedding anniversary and the price was great. We loved abaco. The people were so nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend this resort to everyone. We will go back again nextyear . The beach was to die for. Thanks cheap Caribbean.

Boaters Paradise

Here's the deal: we wanted a glorious, powder-soft, white sand beach vacation. And this delivered. Having traveled all over the Caribbean, I can honestly say that Treasure Cay Beach is truly outstanding. Among the best. As for the resort itself, the staff was friendly, the bed was very comfortable, and everyone should upgrade to a condo if possible. The outdoor patio and kitchen space were worth the marginal upcharge. And if you do have a boat, or are renting one, TC Resort & Marina is a great place to call "home" for any period of time. Overall, the resort accommodations suited us just fine. That said, this is not a “cheap” Caribbean destination. There are additional costs at every juncture, and nothing is ever included. While the beach itself was epic, we would not recommend Treasure Cay, or the Abacos, to anyone who doesn’t have their own boat (or already rented one), and/or doesn’t have thousands of extra dollars to spend on food, golf cart rentals, and excursions. To truly appreciate The Abacos, you need to be able to travel freely between the islands, experiencing the different vibes each location has to offer. You simply can’t do that with a limited ferry schedule, especially one that doesn’t allow for sunsets or night travel :( DO: Visit No Name Cay and the “swimming” pigs (who really aren’t into swimming, but they do like your snacks). DO: Swim with the turtles and rays and sharks. DO: Rent a bike and explore the little beach access points around the island DO: Visit Treasure Sands Beach Club. Great food, great pool scene, great staff, and insta-worthy pink dock. DON’T Go if you have a tight budget. DON'T Go without access to a boat.

Awesome value for a beautiful location!

This island was absolutely stunning! The resort is small, and nothing fancy. Not at all like a room at one of your upscale all inclusive resorts. But the rooms are clean, well stocked, and have everything you need. The resort bar, The Tipsy Seagull, is a lot of fun especially on Pizza night, which is Thursdays. All the locals come out for pizza night. Great music, dancing, lots of fun. Everyone is nice and VERY laid back. You’ll sometimes wait 15-20 at a restaurant before anyone even asks you what you want. They’re not being rude. It’s just that nobody is in a rush. The beach is georgous, with crystal clear waters, not at all crowded, and very little seaweed. There are so many beautiful shades of blue. The island itself is very expensive. (A case of water will set you back $20!) Food is very expensive. About $18 for a burger. $10 for a drink at the bar. Renting a boat and exploring the other cays is a must. It made the trip! Would absolutely recommend staying here and exploring this very un-touristy slice of paradise!

Just ok

The resort overall was just ok. Very cool to be right on the marina to see boats come and go. We also rented a boat a few days so was really convenient to get it right at our resort. The exterior of the buildings were pretty well maintained and clean. The inside of our room was another story. We don't frequent fancy resorts as we like to travel often, but this room was a struggle for us. We got one of the regular marina view rooms. The room was very dated. The bed was fine and they had nice big dressers with a few mirrors. The kitchen area had a table, fridge, microwave, toaster and keirug. The bathroom was horrible with old dirty tile on the floor and in the shower. The shower head was barely in the wall and the pressure was really bad, could hardly wash my hair. The shower had an old shower curtain that smelled old and dirty that had to be in the tub while taking a shower and I was afraid to touch it. They bathroom also smelled like urine when we arrived. We did tell the front desk the next day and they were really nice and offered up another room, however it was on the opposite end so very far from the marina with not a great view. That room was updated with a new bathroom though. So I just think we got one of the dated rooms, but not really a way to ensure that wouldn't happen again so I can't recommend it.

What's to Love

Abaco is a heavenly, off-the-beaten-path kind of spot. Not too touristy. Just pure beachy fun.

Treasure Cay Golf Course is at the resort - the only one in Abaco. For realz.

Sugary, white sands and peaceful turquoise waters - ahhhh-mazing.

Kitchens in the condos - it's nice to have a place to cook (if so desired) or to keep your favorite snacks and drinks on hand.

Fresh seafood, local favorites, fruity smoothies and tons of epic cocktails can be enjoyed at the rockin' onsite restaurants and bars.

Splash-worthy, water sports available on the island.

What We'd Change

I was hoping for more nightlife, but it was so nice to unwind, relax and truly recharge on this vacation.

Why You Should Go

One of the world's top ten beaches is out back. (Yep, it's that cool).
