Terrific Tamarind

I feel grateful to have stayed at the Tamarind for over three weeks. A main reason why this was such a terrific stay is that the property is fantastic and accommodating in numerous ways, but more importantly, it is the employees who have made this such a special place for me, Insofar as all of the employees working here have been lovely, a few truly stand out. Patrick (one of the beach attendants), Eddie (the beach massage therapist), Kaminka (sp?) (the massage therapist in the spa), Joseph (one of the bartenders), and Yvette (one of the housekeepers) have all been amazing. Yvette, in particular, could be the nicest and most genuine human being I have ever met, and I still marvel at how clean my room looked every day. They are all such good people, and their kindness, attentiveness, and good cheer were infectious. Furthermore, as God as my witness, I will miss seeing each of them upon my trip home. Stay at the Tamarind. You cannot wrong, and give everyone down there my best. Cheers— Professor Beach

The resort overall was very nice and the staff were outstanding. It is very clear that customer experience is at the top of the Tamarind's focus. 1. Cool Runnings catamaran excursion cruise was outstanding; best part of the entire trip! 2. Crop Over Festival; gave our family great exposure to the local culture and music 3. Love "Just grillin" restaurant; simple, delicious and affordable. 4. Love "The Beach Restaurant"; elegant, great setting on the beach and food was delicious! Areas that were disappointing include: 1. Ongoing solicitation of various vendors while at the beach @ hotel. While I know the beaches in Barbados are public, this was very frustrating as it was constant. As a result, we ended up spending more time at the pools as an alternative. 2. Dinner at The Cliff; this was good but not outstanding. Our family was a bit disappointed as this was suggested by friends. Service was okay and food was good. We expected more.

Great Hotel

Great hotel experience. Not very busy. North part of beach had rocks in water for snorkeling. South portion had smooth sand. Loved the daily fruit (am) and "lolllies" (popsicles) (pm). Very accommodating and hospitable people of the island. Also, good local restaurants - Champers, Lone Star, Just Grillin, & Daphnies. Also liked the Mount Gay rum, St. Nickolas Abby & Animal Flower cave tours.
