Excellent Resort

The grounds are beautiful and clean, well kept. My girlfriend and I upgraded to the Adults Only Sun Club (were both 30) and was well worth the small price. We had a private bar with better liquor and beer choices as well as a small adults only pool. The beach is a very short walk and has a beach bar along with buffet. There are a lot of vendors at the beach, and being part of the Sun club gave us access to a roped off section of beach chairs with security to keep the vendors away. The vendors can be quite annoying, one day we were approached about 12 tines in one hour. There are a lot of food options however the food was very bland. I was able to find something I liked every meal, fresh eggs for breakfast, cheeseburger and fries for lunch and a chicken or steak for dinner, but was not blown away by the taste. There is a restaurant open from 11pm-7am with late night food (nachos, fries, burgers, hot dogs), one great thing about this place is there is hot food available 24hrs a day. Our room was perfect, clean and modern with a fully stocked mini fridge. Out maid was amazing and kept us stocked with waters, soda and towels. The service was all around excellent, the staff is kind and friendly. Tips are included but i reccomend giving a dollar a drink or more for better service. The swim up bar at the pool is a great touch and really makes you feel like you're in paradise. Do yourself a favor and check out the spa, my girlfriend and I did 80 minute couples massage along with jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room treatment. We were amazed at how beautiful the spa was and how reasonably priced the services were. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, it is not a resort for kids but they can certinly accomodate them and keep them entertained. Overall an 8.5/10

Relaxing

The staff at the resort were all very friendly, the food was excellent. The grounds of the resort was very lush and inviting which meant that you didn't have to leave if you didn't want to.

OK resort

Disappointed based on the level of upgrades that we had. Provided a bunch of coupons as part of the Sun Club, but never got to use them as every coupon would have cost us more then the specials that they offered. For instance four $10 wine coupons, but wine list was always $29 dollar special that you could not use coupons. $40 Spa coupons would have resulted in paying $10 dollars more over special they were running. -Food at the Ala-cart restaurants was very good, but 3 of the six meals took over 2 hours. We actually left once without dessert because it was taking so long. -Beautiful beach, but a lot of annoying vendors, even when in the Sun Club area where they are not supposed to bother you. -Very busy on the weekends due to vacationing locals.

What's to Love

Feeling like royalty during the red carpet check-in while you nosh on frosty welcome treats.

Stress-busting spa with a delicious menu of pampering, you-spoiling treatments.

The golden sands of Playa Dorado that are calling your name.

The indoor theatre that offers up some booty-shaking nighttime entertainment. Woot!

Tons of activities for the kiddos, which means more chillaxin' time for you.

The Teleferico Cable Car - the only funicular in the Caribbean.

What We'd Change

A la carte dining can fill up at night, so you might have to wait a bit. Good thing you can grab a cocktail or two while you wait to be served.

Why You Should Go

Just 20 minutes from the airport so getting to the resort is a breeze.

27 Damajagua Cascades are near - 27 natural river pools and waterfalls - and there's may be an extra cost, but it's so worth it.

The Sun Club, a family-centric program that features upgraded everything.

A golf course designed by the famous Robert Trent Jones surrounds the resort. Easy to get to when it's your tee time.

The famous Malecon beach strip is full of restaurants/bars, local vendors and Fort San Felipe to visit.

You can hike and bike through lush, tropical terrain - you might even see an exotic bird or two.
