Not what it used to be

5*****This was my fourth visit to the resort. I was in room 317. The room was older, but clean. Beautiful view, big king size comfy bed, and cold A/C. Close to the airport. Shorty at the pool bar was awesome! Al with the entertainment crew is awesome! Lots of good people working here. 1*The food variety and quality has went down since my last visit in 2014. Sometimes an entire steam table was empty, and other times it had empty spaces. Everyday there was some kind of chicken. I love chicken, but not everyday. There was two separate offerings of rice. I think to take up space. The bacon wasn't cooked done. It was raw and fatty. I ate a lot of salads......The snack restaurant was limited on options. Pizza was only cheese with green and red peppers. Bee's swarm the soda dispensers. Has a salad bar with NO SALAD DRESSINGS......I ask the lady, she said they didn't have any, but she did mix ketchup with mayo and called it 1,000 island. She tried. No water sports were available during my stay. I overheard guest talking about new management taking over the property, so hopefully things will improve. Not sure if I will return.

Second time around was even better!

Stayed at this same location last year and enjoyed so we came back. This time was even better! The food was much better and selections greater! Room was excellent. Entertainment for independence day was Awesome- great job with history and of course the dancers were fantastic!!! Only downside was Wi-Fi was down for a few days, but I'm on vacation no problem man! :)

Average Product to Purchase on a Budget

My stay was not bad here. The only thing for me was the room. The room was kinda appealing to the eye. The bathroom was the main part that kinda grossed me and me best friend out. Overall the people and faculty are amazing and the excursions are amazing. Rachel from Amstar was truly a blessing of having me and my best friend ready for our adventures and transfers to and from the airport. The scenery from the hotel is beautiful and the water is clean. Make sure you bring actual singles with you because it was extremely difficult to tip people when they could not provide change. Also, there is a lot to do and plenty to do at the resort which can make your day eventful everyday if you want to. I just personally think they need to update the rooms to make it more nice and clean. Also, the water system in our room was giving us some trouble and the water did not smell to clean. Jamaica itself was a great time, but wish I had a better room.

Amazing service, a few down sides

First, everyone who worked there was amazing. Dario the bartender was always talking with everyone and engaging them in conversations and you could tell really enjoyed his job. Everyone was helpful from the moment we got there until we got in the cab to go to the airport. The airport is only 5 minutes away so there are a few planes coming in but nothing bothersome and their low flying makes for a good photo op. Location of the hotel is great only a 2 minutes walk to shopping and Usain bolts restaurant. The meals were average in the main dining hall. They changed it up every day which was nice and had a pretty wide variety. The other restaurant-which requires reservations- was amazing. We had an ocean view room which was a fantastic view of the ocean just a few steps from the hotel. They had plenty of activities during the day and shows every night The downs: no free WiFi and it’s only available in the lobby. No roomservice- which not a big deal to me but maybe to some.the shower water sometimes lost pressure- no big deal turn it off and wait a minute and you’re good to go. The biggest problem was the lack of AC. It was an inefficient unit and even with the fan on and AC on high it was almost impossible to be comfortable after coming in from a hot day. I overheard 2 other couples complaining to staff about their rooms. The rooms are very basic a bed a tv and a dresser- which is I think what people expect in a normal hotel room but maybe since it’s a resort people are expecting something fancier? Like I said phenomenal staff, rooms could use some updating.
