Relaxing

We enjoyed our 6 night stay the resort -it was just what we thought it would be and more .the resort is just the right size to feel comfortable in. We were here during off season and it was just the right amount of people .the only thing was that we had to always get our own drinks from the bar accept at lunch and dinner. We had to get all all drinks when on beach, no service at all.We can’t say enough about how friendly and helpful all the staff was. The food at buffet was warm at best, it hot. The only thing that was hot was the omelletes that were made right in front of you. Dining at the restaurant that you needed reservations was okay, needed better options. The resort is very well kept, the garden are beautiful. They are contestantly cleaning any debri that comes in with the water onto the beach area. We really the the feeling you get staying in the bungalows. The only complaint we have is with Amstar the transfer company and the rep they set us up with to set up excursions, Beware of them and do some checking on prices and things before being forced to purchase. Also we were ripped off and hustled by our returning bus driver with Amstar. We thought he was doing us a favor. Took us to a place to buy souvenirs and rum cream before getting to airport and we are pretty sure he was getting a cut from taking us there. We also were charged more than what we should have been. Airport prices were half that we paid and we were told we were getting a good price. This was because we hadn’t been t any shops off the resort to know what rum cream and coffee prices were. It was a learning experience and we were taken :(

Small and quaint

This was our second trip to this resort and we found it to be very relaxing and quaint. We were greeted by the staff as family. Several of the staff members remembered us from our visit last year. It is not fancy or large. It is small, but has several activities that you can participate in if you want. The staff tries to get people involved and included in the activities, but are not pushy. Occasionally you may even find one of the staff joining you for a meal. The food staff always greets you with a smile and if you have a special occasion they will even do something special when you come in to eat. The bar staff is always attentive to the guests and are very good at remembering what people like to drink. The food was okay and a little strange, but they are trying to satisfy the tastes of people from many countries. We did have an issue with the maids making up our cottage a few times and the roof leaking during a storm, but we do like the cottages over a regular room. There are more than enough beach chairs around the 4, daily cleaned, beach areas that they have and the 2 pools. We would recommend this resort to anyone that is not looking for anything real fancy and great place to relax and replenish.

Excellent for the price!

This was my 2nd time to the Royal Decameron Club Caribbean. My husband and I enjoy this smaller more personal vacation spot. The service and the people and so enjoyable. The food is average. Always something to eat! The beach isn't the best, but you can manage. All and all this is a great place. We plan on returning again.

Terrible experience at this resort.

Royal Decameron needs to hire some friendly staff members. They were rude and down right nasty to us . We had to beg them for a drink and not even think about asking for a refill. The bungalows were nice and cozy and clean. The beach and pool were nice and relaxing. It was pretty sad how the staff was trying to sell us things like internet and coconuts or anything else they could get their hands on to try to sell you. We will be returning the Jamaica but we will not be staying at this resort again.
