Wonderful all-inclusive

The resort really exceeded my expectations. It has huge and very comfortable. Not a lot of people and also not many kids—which makes the vacation better. The restaurant selection was good as well. Im glad they had an Indian food restaurant. Must try. The pools were clean and large. The room was cleaned everyday and the floors were too. Service went above and beyond to help with everyone’s needs. Always kind and helpful. I’m already thinking of going back.

Pool time! Room with a view!!

3RD TIME, GREAT TRIP! BUT...

First things first, this resort is one of my favorite resorts in the world. It truly has something for everyone. This was our third trip to this resort and we have stayed in many Riu resorts. Some of the things that make us return: cleanliness, service, variety of food and drinks, great pools, great beaches, etc. I will continue to stay in Riu resorts, but this trip was the first time I can remember leaving with on pretty big issue. If you are a wine drinker you would be very disappointed. My wife primarily drinks wine and will drink everything from $5 wine to high dollar wine. The wine on this trip was not even consumable! that is unless you drink balsamic vinegar. We had a group of 10 and nobody in our group could stomach it. We tried every wine they served (about 5 or 6 types) all with the same results. A resort of this class should have a decent wine.

Pretty OK

The Riu Palace was our first all-inclusive resort to ever visit. The variety of food was vast, however, just ok tasting. The drinks around the pool were very inconsistent in flavor. We made sure to tip well to get continued drink service, but that didn't really help. We ended up spending most time at the swim up bar to get drinks when we wanted one. We stayed on the quiet side, but I thought it was still pretty loud. I'm glad I brought ear plugs. During our stay there was a wedding, which had their reception on the quiet side. The reception music was really loud and lasted until after 10pm. We didn't make it to the nightly entertainment because I was just too tired, nor the afternoon activities because we just did our own thing. We had an ocean-view room that overlooked the pool area; the bed was comfortable, very nice shower, the view outstanding, and housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping our room fresh. The refrigerator was always stocked with plenty of water and drink mixers. We had room service twice and it was good. The resort is right on the beach, however not swim-able which wasn't a deal breaker for us. The resort is close to town. Walking the beach to town is quite the workout. Cabs are always readily available. The staff was super nice and mostly accommodating. It is evident they work really hard and have to deal with difficult tourists. My parents were a little concerned about safety in Cabo, but they ended up feeling very comfortable and would visit again. We met lots of nice people, both locals and people who are repeat customers of the resort. In the end, we decided that this kind of vacationing isn't really for us since we enjoyed our time more away from the resort. We probably won't visit the Riu Palace again, but I would recommend it for those who want to try a family friendly all-inclusive and don't want to spend a whole lot of money.

What's to Love

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

Blue sparkling pools with dynamo ocean views. Pic opp moments, for sure.

Within walking distance to Cabo's El Medano Beach - you can swim, jet ski or bar hop along the shores.

Swoon-worthy views from your balcony - ocean or resort, either way - it's stunning.

Freshly made guacamole for your morning, afternoon, or late night snack. It's delish.

Resort is geared for families and mature adults - not your rowdy spring break revelers.

The Entertainment Team keeps things lively and when you want to let loose, Pacha disco is open at night.

Staying in your room and dining with 24-hour room service. Because you're a rock star.

What We'd Change

The beach out front isn't swimmable - the undercurrent is strong, but you can the pool is gorgeous and has the best ocean view.

Why You Should Go

Perfect location in Cabo - a short trip from the airport to the resort and close to Cabo's nightlife.

Riu's commitment to top notch service will win you over the moment your flip flops hit the resort.

Whale watching is epic here. Best time to see these awe-inspiring creatures - mid-Dec thru mid-April.

Stay sporty - tennis, volleyball, ping pong are included, and for a fee, ride horses on the beach.

See the famous El Arco (meaning "Land's End") from the resort. (Go there and take a Selfie).

RiuLand keeps the kiddos entertained. And, you? Book time in the spa. You deserve it.
