Very Relaxing!!

My husband and I spent a week here and we completely think that this was money well spent!! Room was very comfortable, food was good, and we could get food/drinks at whichever bar and restaurant we went to. There are other resorts we saw where you are limited to which bars and restaurants the all-inclusive catered to, but this resort included all bars and restaurants. We loved that there was a "quiet" pool and "party" pool on the other side of the the resort. Being a Riu Palace guest, we also had access to Riu Sante Fe which hosted themed parties a few nights week. Altogether, we had a blast and definitely recommend Riu Palace!!

Not Going Back

The Riu Palace has horrible customer service. At one point we requested for them to come restock our in room bar and had to call the front desk 3 times. They told us they would expedite it and still after 2 hours no one came to the room. On our second night there the power went out in the entire resort for 30 mins. Then on our last day there the power and water went out multiple times through out the day and night. We ended up paying to upgrade to a swim out room on the second day there and the new room hadn’t even been swept. We had to call the front desk to come sweep the room because there was stuff sticking to the bottom of our feet as we would walk around the room. They took a while to show up again. The food was horrible. The steak at the “steakhouse” was awful. They didn’t make it to the finish we requested. I put it in my mouth and started gagging and had to spit it out on the first bite. They only have Pepsi products FYI. We definitely didn’t get what we paid for in more ways than one. Thanks

Bad Experience

I preface this review by mentioning we stayed @ RIU in Puerto Vallarta and loved that place. We have stayed at other all inclusive hotels in Cabo, but based off our time in PV, we decided to stay at Riu Palace and although we made the best of it, I was disappointed. The hotel is clean and the pools are beautiful and beach has easy access. That’s about it as far as positives. First the room are cramped and the beds are singles not doubles, so when you ask for two beds, you don’t get what you expecting. At the rates they are charging, it’s inexcusable to have a substandard room. Second the service is bad. We must have seen 100 staff over a week and maybe 3 or 4 had a smile on their face. And their miserable attitude is reflective in their work. Consistently poor service every turn. Had trouble one morning getting water brought to the table. And lastly, the food. In one word AWFUL. I have been to half a dozen all inclusives thru the years and I know the food isn’t going to five star, but none of the places I’ve been to have been as bad as this place. No joke, they couldn’t even make refried beans taste good. SO BAD is the food, I actually lost weight on trip. Nice benefit, but at the price I paid I expect a decent meal, and that we didn’t get. Overall waste of money, sorry I chose this place

What's to Love

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

Blue sparkling pools with dynamo ocean views. Pic opp moments, for sure.

Within walking distance to Cabo's El Medano Beach - you can swim, jet ski or bar hop along the shores.

Swoon-worthy views from your balcony - ocean or resort, either way - it's stunning.

Freshly made guacamole for your morning, afternoon, or late night snack. It's delish.

Resort is geared for families and mature adults - not your rowdy spring break revelers.

The Entertainment Team keeps things lively and when you want to let loose, Pacha disco is open at night.

Staying in your room and dining with 24-hour room service. Because you're a rock star.

What We'd Change

The beach out front isn't swimmable - the undercurrent is strong, but you can the pool is gorgeous and has the best ocean view.

Why You Should Go

Perfect location in Cabo - a short trip from the airport to the resort and close to Cabo's nightlife.

Riu's commitment to top notch service will win you over the moment your flip flops hit the resort.

Whale watching is epic here. Best time to see these awe-inspiring creatures - mid-Dec thru mid-April.

Stay sporty - tennis, volleyball, ping pong are included, and for a fee, ride horses on the beach.

See the famous El Arco (meaning "Land's End") from the resort. (Go there and take a Selfie).

RiuLand keeps the kiddos entertained. And, you? Book time in the spa. You deserve it.
