At this quiet escape haven that's also wallet-friendly, you'll be blown away by all the gorgeous tropical beauty. You'll definitely fancy their one-of-a-kind shaped beach, along with the breath-stealing coral reef. If you want, you can take a stroll over to their sister resort, Grand Oasis Tulum, and hang at their wildly gorgeous beach. There's a Kids' Club where you can drop your munchkins while you spoil yourself with a treatment at the spa, or just grab your favorite cocktail and chill under a fringy palm. All this awesome is waiting for you. When might we expect you?

We had an all-inclusive package. We enjoyed every second spent!
Great beach, grate people, great service .
Will certainly go back.
Have recommended to our friends!
This hotel was terrible, the food was bad, service was poor and there were ants in the bed, we complained to the cheap Caribbean and the hotel and nothing was done nor has there been a follow up from the company itself. This was my first trip with the cheap Caribbean and my last, not to mention it was a birthday trip for my 30th. It took 25 minutes to check in because there was only one person checking in guess, the drinks were watered down and the food at this place was not worth all the money spent period. in addition, the water to flush was brown from clogged poop, the property was not taken care of besides the grass outside and the pool area. I am so appalled at the lack of willingness to assist customers with this company. I didn't even get my voucher email, hotel vouchers or flight details until I called the company, my ex-travel assistant who booked us Elliot was of no help never got us our paperwork or responded urgent emails in regards to our issues at the hotel he booked us in.
we had a great time march 8 to march 13, we had stayed at Grand 2 years ago & now the oasis Tulum lite. Our air in first room not working they was able to fix us up in another room shortly. Food was excellent loved the Bites restaurant with Angel,Lino & Eniqrue very great waiters.Bikes need a little work, I had a bike wreck chain & handle bars fell off. Nice place to vacation for the price, would go back indeed. Ocean had a lot of seaweed not very pleasant to be there. Shows were great a lot of awesome talent. I would recommend anyone traveling to go thru cheap Caribbean.com found this resort for 6 nites 862.00 flight, drinks & food included. We had everything we needed for our stay did not leave the resort but Tulum is only 15-20 minutes away we had already been there before.
My fiance and I booked a vacation at Oasis Tulum Lite because the pictures looked great, the price was great, and the reviews (for the most part) were favorable. Between booking and leaving, I got nervous about our vacation because I started reading some REALLY bad reviews on other sites. However, all my worrying was for nothing because we had a great vacation at Oasis Tulum Lite!
Our room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. No problems whatsoever.
The food was fantastic - Bites (the restaurant in the lobby at the Lite resort) is MAJORLY underrated! I really have no complaints about anything I ate during vacation - and we ate Bites, the buffet, Sarape, Dos Lunas, and Hippie Chic.
The beach was beautiful, as were the pools.
The drinks were delicious - and the bartenders were very efficient at moving through lines of customers pretty quickly.
The Lite resort is only a short bike ride away from the Grand part of the resort - they provide bikes that you can take on rides without having to rent them or anything.
All in all, if you are looking for a relaxing and budget-friendly option, I really feel like you can't go wrong with booking through this resort!

how old is Oasis Tulum? Are there places near by to scuba dive (experienced divers)?5 answers
6 years, 73 months ago
Oasis Tulum is not a new resort and adjoins Oasis Akumal. There are many dive shops in the area run by experienced divrers offering scuba excursions. I would suggest calling the resort directly and speak to the concierge to discuss their recommendations for diving in the area.
Built in late seventies ,. You can sign up for scuba with havier in the lobby for a great price
there is no dive shop at the resort, but we used Bahia Dive Center (NOT associated with the Bahia resort) they were fantastic. They are located a few minutes from the resort on what is probably the best beach on the Mexican Riviera. Havent seen a beach like that there in 25 years since the Mega hotels (and their guests) have destroyed the near shore coral and beaches,
I 'm not sure how old is this resort but looking around the hotel structure and upkeep of it seems well kept. There are many representative of tour guide to assist you as where and how much it cost of many excursions around that area.
Yes, you can scuba dive either on this beach or outside at other locations with a guided excursion.
why no reviews?4 answers
My husband and I have a trip booked for late June for Oasis Tulum. I have read many reviews on TripAdvisor , and many give references to Be Live and Grand Oasis Riviera Maya' or Oasis Akumal. I want to make sure I am prepared for the vacation but am not sure I can rely on many reviews. Please, any suggestions? Is there new management, perhaps why no one has reviewed this resort on your site?
5 years, 72 months ago
The resort was originally Be Live Grand Riviera Maya and owned by Be Live Resorts. The resort is now owned by Oasis Hotels, however, they recently changed the name of the resort from the Grand Oasis Riviera Maya to Oasis Tulum.
Oasis Tulum is close to Akumal
it used to be a BE LIVE
Oasis is new management
Was being refurbished when we were there late 2012
Was the best AI we've been to!
we were there 1/28 thru 2/2 2013. If there is new management, they still have work to do, some customer service issues to be resolved.
food at the buffet had a good selection for all three meals. daughter/ husband and grandson have a gluten alergy and they had plenty of variety to choose from.
May I make some suggestion? we normally go to Mexico Riviera in April or November. Due to seasonal weather there during summer has tropical storms and rain during that time. But in the month that I had mention, weather is nice and warm. Now, answerer to your question, there is two side of Oasis Tulum and Grand oasis Tulum. The grand side gets more perk such dining privileges and access to coffee & me shop. In my experience, website dose not provide all the detail until you have check-in to the hotel. Just make sure check it out the differences of prices the two.
Most reviews covering the Oasis tulum complain about no hot water in their room for three (3) days. Has new management solved this situation?
5 years, 72 months ago
We do not have any complaints on file in regards to this issue.
My husband and I just spent 6 nights at Oasis Tulum in Nov. 2012. We had plenty of hot water in our bathroom for our entire visit .
We were never without hot water when we were there in Dec 2012
We went in May 2013 and had no problems with hot water. There was plenty of hot water for showers, and we had an extra-deep bath tub which made for comfortable baths.
as of 2 weeks ago, no
We just got back and never had issues with our water.
We had plenty of hot water and fully stock drinking water in the minibar.
I never had a problem with running hot water in our room while there (June 2014), although I heard of a couple that did. I guess it depends where you're situated. I had a garden view room on the first floor. No problem with hot water at all.
Oasis tulum hotel rating.8 answers
Recently (May15, 2012) Oasis tulum rated 20th out of 2l in that area. Is this true?
5 years, 72 months ago
Without knowing who conducted the survey you are referring to we are unable to comment on its accuracy.
I would say that is accurate. We did not have a good stay there. The beach is the best part. The rooms lack in comfort, the hotel lacks in entertainment, and we had our room broken into.
Our opinion is that it was the best of several AI's we have visited.
This was our first trip to the eastern side of Mexico
yes, but that was a mistake, it should have been 21 out of 21
l think this rating was more about how far from Cancun the resort is than the resort itself the resort was very nice clean the staff was great but your travel time is over an hour from the airport that was what we wanted but it's not for everyone.
Well i think alot of people are very hard to please, this resort is very tropical a little under staffed and off the beatin path. However if your not a picky person this resort is very nice. We went in late Aug.13and had a great time we had to wait a little for dinner and drinks but if we were in a rush we just went to the bar and got our own drinks and that worked for us
I don't know what or who's rating that is but as for me, hotel guest service and quality of food are 4 out of 5 being that 5 is excellent .
I had to say, for the prices of package we definitely go back for quite relaxing resort life style.
I strongly doubt it...(June 2014).
Dress Code7 answers
Most resorts have a dress code for dinner. Does the Oasis Tulum have a dress code for all the restaurants or just the reservation only ones?
5 years, 71 months ago
There does not appear to be any information on the resort's website in regards to the dress code at the restaurants. We do suggest checking directly with them. The email located on their website for your convenience in contacting them is email@example.com.
No dress code for any of the dining areas. Most people looked nice at the restaurants, but there was no one making sure you had on the appropriate attire. Some people in the restaurants were casual. Nothing about this hotel is very fancy.
The buffet (non-reservation) has a minimal, casual dresscode. In other words, you can't wear a swimming suit and you need to wear a shirt, but it's not dressy. There is sushi at the swim-up bar, so obviously no dress code there. :-) I think the pool snack place and the beach snack place have no dress code, but I'm not sure.
Oasis Tulum does have a dress code for the reservation ones only.Men long pants and closed toe shoes ( crazy, i think, your at the beach) However we went in late Aug. and my husband did wear nice shorts and a nice shirt with sandles and no one said a thing ( we also tipped very well,in dollars)
Not really a dress code if there is the max is causal wear
Yes just for the dinner reservation. Some of other regular restaurant did specify dress casual.
Not many restaurant options at OASIS TULUM. Only one buffet, one Mexican restaurant, and one by reservation (really hard to get in). I believe only they one that required prior reservation had a dress code, but unsure of the details. The buffet did not have a specific dress code, but people would wear relaxed summer clothes, or they could dress up if they wished to.
Is there a dress code at restaurants here?8 answers
I know that some restaurants require a button up shirt, or even dress pants and tie. I was wondering if there were any restaurants here on the resort that were specific on any of those things? Thanks!
5 years, 71 months ago
the resort does not specifically state that any of their restaurants have certain dress codes, however you would be best to check directly with the resort for this information.
You must have shoes and a cover-up to enter the restaurant during the day and must have a shirt with a collar in the gourmet restaurants in the evening.
My husband and I just spent 6 nights at Oasis Tulum in Nov. 2012. The only dress code for restaurants was that you need a shirt and shoes. We ate there in t-shirts, shorts, sandals, and it was all fine. We didn't even need reservations for the restaurants (though maybe that will change once they finish construction). l
Not when we were there in Dec 2012
With the new upgrades it wouldn't suprise me if the implemented a dress code in the new up-scale restaurants they were opening.
The only dress code for the buffet was shoes, no wet bathing suits and coverups for swimsuits. Dining at the "reservation required" resturants was long pants for men and no tee shirts. (Note, saw a couple of people in shorts and tees (clean and dry).
just shoes and shirts, long pants not required
Only dress code is for reserved restaurant and others are causal
The fish and steak restaurant made the men wear pants. Not shorts for the guys.
At the resort do they play water polo and water volleyball daily?7 answers
5 years, 63 months ago
This resort does offer a variety of water sports and entertainment. Their daily activities changes on regular basis. Please contact the resort directly for the activity schedule.
They play water volleyball daily, but I don't know about water polo.
they try to, the entertainment coordinators are always trying to get people to particpate
They do have water volleyball in the pool by the Sarape restaurant.
Yes, they even have water aerobic too
no water polo but yes to water and beach volleyball
They may have, but not exactly sure. I only noticed water gymnastics....They also had a group of italian entertainers that would get a group of kids to play soccer outside of the water.
Is there chartered fishing available?8 answers
5 years, 62 months ago
We offer numerous fishing excursions and this can be added to your reservation after the Room Upgrades page (on the Excursions page). If you need assistance, please call our reservations center at 1 800 915 2322. If you are asking about chartering and captaining the boat yourself, we are sure there are companies that offer this, but we do not work with any to offer suggestions.
Charter fishing is available on small boats right off the beach. My son caught a 40" Barricuda and a huge smile on our outing!
Yes. We booked deep sea fishing through one of the tour operators that comes to the hotel daily. (There are 2 or 3 different companies, and I think all of them offer it.) Plenty of options for excursions, including fishing.
Yes on the beach right outside the room
yes, some independent boar owners are located on the beach, make a deal with them
I don't know. However, we did see couple of boat that was setting on the shore. Maybe, due to stormy weather while we were there but you can check it out.
Yes, they had boats that go out daily for groups up to 6 people, charging anywhere between $150 to $180 for the entire group for a three hour tour.
I believe there is
Is there a currency exchange station at the hotel?8 answers
5 years, 61 months ago
This resort does list under the amenities that they offer currency exchange services on-site. However, please keep in mind that amenities are subject to change at any time.
They do have currency exchange at the hotel desk. You will, however, get a much better rate at a bank ATM machine. 100 pesos for $95 at the desk, or $83 including fees at the ATM when we were there in April 2013
yes, rates are quite fair
Yes there is a station in the resort. We didn't use it the resort is all inclusive and the locals that work there would rather have the dollar so we tipped with US money and got great service
Yes, at the front desk
I didn't find out until my departure date that they do have one in their main lobby (#1). Since I was located in lobby #2, these services were not available to us, but I guess I could have asked.
How close to night life and shopping9 answers
4 years, 59 months ago
Oasis Tulum is approximately 2 hours from downtown Cancun, however, approximately 30-40 minutes to Playa del Carmen. For exact proximity of the resort and its surrounding area, we do suggest contacting the resort directly as they would be best to assist you. The email address found directly on the resorts website is firstname.lastname@example.org.
When my boyfriend and I stayed at Oasis Tulum we visited Playa Del Carmen which was about a half hour ride away, you can take a shared van for about $3 and it drops you off right in the heart of the city where there is a ton of shopping and a large nightlife, including attractions such as Senor Frogs and Coco Bongo
It's about 30 mins to playa del Carmen! This resort is very secluded. Awesome for us but not if you want to party. It's super quiet and calm!
close to Tulum. Really close (across the street) is the Bahia Principe condo complex that also has some pretty decent shopping. For night life, you have to get to Akumal (10 miles?) or Playa del Carmen (30miles?)
If your going for the night life don't come here go to Cancun. There are some small towns close that you can do some shopping. However the beach is beautiful and the snorkeling is GREAT!
20-25 mins Playa de Carmen
Inside of hotel have night club and near by place to shop is Playa Del Carmen. It's about half hour from the hotel. A lot of shops
not at all, you would need a car or taxi, the resort does have smart cars you can rent
OASIS TULUM is located one and half hour south of Cancun International Airport. I would have not booked at this hotel would I have noticed such a distance. There are so many other hotels closer to the airport within a shorter distance and that offer more.I did not leave the resort, but I don't think neither shopping or night life was anywhere close by. The only time I saw people leaving the resort was during the day for guided excursions. Hope this helps.
Oasis Tulum Akumel10 answers
I have heard in reviews there's a colored wrist band system for what you can and cannot access as a guest. What does this package offer is it access to all or just some of the resort?
4 years, 58 months ago
The All-Inclusive features at this resort include all meals and snacks, unlimited domestic and select international alcoholic drinks, house wines, pool and beach wait-staff service, daily sports and entertainment activities, introductory scuba demo in the pool, nightly live entertainment shows as well as all taxes and gratuities.
If you stay at regular oasis then it's access to only one side. If you stay on Gran oasis side then it's access to EVERYTING AND MORE! Don't go here unless you stay at Gran! It's worth the upgrade!!
the resort is split into 2 parts, Oasis Tulum and Grand Oasis, latter being the renovated part. Grand Oasis has a number of restaurants and infinity pool that are verboten to the Oasis Tulum guests. That's what the bands are for.
yes there is a colored band but they let access everything it's more to prove your in the right resort. all the resorts do this.
Yes there is a color system,we got the purple band (lowest) we had no problems but we went in late Aug. it is the off season. The beach in front of the up-graded side ( Grand Oasis) is very rocky, not so much in front of the old side ( Oasis Tulum) also the old side had ocean front balconys I think thats very important when you go to the Caribbean Sea who wants to look at it through a window?
It only gets you access to some of the resort. You'll get a chance to buy the full access when you get there for additional cost. Please note it's an hour from the airport and I see you want adventure. All activities are min 20 mins if not an hour travel time, except snorkeling it's free at resort.
That's great question! I would e-mail the hotel directly to find out the different prices of wrist band system. In Grand Oasis Tulum, if you want to upgrade to wristband that allows you for the day, it cast 380.00 Paso or so but it depends on what you prefer.
Check out my review, there is a wrist band system. If you want access to everything go GRAND OASIS, its the best bet.
There is a grand package with a different wrist band that allows access to additional restaurants and bars. These people also stay in a different portion of the resort with better rooms.
Yes, they do have a wrist band system for all-inclusive clients. You can access their pools, beaches and bufftets, but you could not access their cafe or other amenities located in their main lobby. Customers on an all-inclusive package were in a separate building altogether and had another lobby. I didn't like this it all. Oh! by the way, it is not called Akumel...not sure if they changed the name or if another hotel....
Are there in room safes? And is there a charge?5 answers
4 years, 54 months ago
Yes, there are safety deposit boxes and there is an additional charge for them. These charges are subject to change.
yes they do but they do charge a daily rate
There were room safes, but they required a fee.
Yes, the rooms have a safe without a lock. They require a rental fee for the service. Same thing for internet. NO WI-FII available.
There are in room safes. I didn't use them, so can't speak to the charges. I left a lot of electronics and some cash laying around and had no problems.
I was at Oasis Lite and had a safe with a keypad. Other rooms had a keyed lock and there was a charge for that, around $4/day.
How do you get from the airport to Oasis Tulum? Bus? Cab? Shuttle? What cost should I expect?3 answers
3 years, 43 months ago
We offer round trip transfers through AMStar DMC. We do not recommend a cab as the resort is 60-90 minutes away from the airport and the cabs are not regulated in Mexico. For pricing, please contact our office at 800-915-2322.
We used Cancun Shuttle; paid for a private one since we were worried about the numerous stops at other resorts. It was only $20 more for the private shuttle, which to me, was worth it.
They do have a shuttle service you can pay for, other wise you could call a cab, or you can rent a car. I rented a car for my trip, it cost about $200 for 6 days. It is about an hour and 30 minute drive from the airport to the resort but the drive is straight down a main highway. It was an easy drive for me.
We just realized we're in the Superior Fun Room - is this bad?2 answers
I've read some reviews and we're not sure if we get a different bracelet and are limited in activities, food, etc.
And is it a long way from the resort?
3 years, 39 months ago
Only 2 room types are offered through Cheapcaribbean at the Oasis Tulum: Garden and Ocean Front. The Grand Oasis has other rooms categories, however, this doesn't seem to be what you are referring to.
In reality, the color of the bracelets don't really mean anything. I wasn't VIP but was allowed to go anywhere in the resort. I even swam in the VIP pool areas and got waited on by the server. You can do any activity offered by the resort. The distance isn't that far. There is a golf cart that picks you up or you can ride a bike to and from the main resort. There's bikes right outside both lobbies.

Is this place still under renovation?2 answers
I'm sure this place books more often than 2015- no news is good news in most cases, but am concerned about the latest negative review.
1 year, 15 months ago
All construction was to be completed by December of 2015, at this point we have not been notified of any construction currently going on at the resort. This can always change, please feel free to reach out to the resort directly for confirmation of future construction plans prior to booking/traveling.
Yes, unfortunately they are still renovating and I believe is because they are adding more rooms but that was only seen at the Oasis Tulhm Lite.
Transportation to/from the Hotel and Airport included?3 answers
If purchasing a package, will hotel or Cheap Caribbean provide transportation? Will we get picked up from airport and taken back to the airport in the end of the trip?
I purchased a trip package years ago and transportation was included.
Please let me know.
Transportation is not included, however this can be purchased at an additional cost at the time of booking or up until 48 hours prior to travel on an existing reservation.
The package only includes the accommodations and flights but you need to pay attention on what you choose:
If it says all inclusive that will include food and drinks+accommodation
Some packages will say meals not included that of course won't be all inclusive
For the trip from the airport to hotel and way back you must select private or shared trip and pay extra

What does "lite" refer too?3 answers
Does "lite" mean when we arrive we will have to upgrade to all-inclusive or better food and drinks? What does that mean?
This is the lead in resort as they have a Grand Oasis Tulum which comes with more amenities and access to more restaurants vs the Lite. If you have any further questions, you may contact the resort directly or call and speak to one of our Beachologists at 1-800-915-2322.
There are 2 resorts on one property. Oasis lite and Oasis Grand. They both are all inclusive. Oasis Grand is on the actual beach, Oasis Lite is within walking distance but no major trek. The have bicycles you can ride back & forth free of charge.
lite means you stay in a different resort location which is up the street from the Grand Oasis. Lite has one pool but in walking distance or a bike ride away from Grand Oasis which is the main resort that has the restaurants, pools and the beach. Not all restaurants and bars are included with lite. The swim up bar is not included.
how is the snorkeling?4 answers
how is the snorkeling from the beach?
This would depend upon weather, time of year, currents, etc. Generally the snorkeling is okay, but with being that close to the beach, a specific snorkeling excursion may yield a better variety of tropical fish to view.
Snorkeling was amazing! The resort lets you use the snorkeling equipment for an hour at a time. You have to give them or ID or DL in exchange for the equipment and a small tip!
Its free. Just need your ID to rent out equipment. Fish our near to shore, multiple types and an octopus was spotted as well.
They have a booth where they offer free snorkeling but only for 15 minutes and that is under the condition that you intend to buy the snorkeling package from them. You are better off spending that money in a real snorkeling excursion

Environmental Levy Fee
The Municipalidad of Solidaridad in the Rivera Maya is one of the most beautiful places in the Mexican Caribbean. Tourism has been instrumental in driving the economic and social development of the region. In an effort to continue to preserve, conserve and beautify the destination, the Municipality of Solidaridad has implemented a small environmental levy on visitors effective September 1, 2017. Hotels will collect 20 Mexican pesos per room per day on check out; the proceeds will be deposited in an environmental trust to fund local projects. The Municipalidad of Solidaridad thanks you for your understanding and support of this worthwhile endeavor. Thank you and enjoy your visit.
