Great honeymoon getaway

We very much enjoyed our trip. Booking with CheapCaribbean made booking flights and transports so easy! The hotel was everything that it was promised to be! We only wish there were more hours in the day to enjoy everything! I would definitely book through CheapCaribbean again for our next destination vacay!

We stayed on the Luxury side of the Bahia Principe for 8 days and had a fantastic time! The resort is the largest on the island according to our taxi driver, but the luxury side does not feel crowded at all. We always got chairs or a cabana by the pool without a problem as well as a seat at dinner (the restaurants on the luxury side require a reservation, so I recommend you make them the first day or two you are there) but they were never crowded. I think they do it to ensure prompt and attentive service. The Mediterranean and French restaurant will not let men in without dress pants and the women without evening dresses, but the others the men can wear khaki shorts and casual dresses are fine for the women. All of the restaurants were excellent, and we even ventured to the Italian restaurant on the grand side one night. The food is good, but the house wine is not as good as the luxury side. I highly recommend choosing the ocean view rooms and request a higher floor when booking, because the view is gorgeous. You can see all 3 of the pools on the luxury side as well as the beach/ocean. The other rooms have a subpar view of the gardens which are gorgeous, but block the ocean view or even worse the side with the entrance/highway view. They also left a bottle of red wine from Spain in the room one night with two glasses, ran a bubble bath, and adorned the bed with rose petals which was included with the ocean view room. We have stayed in many Caribbean resorts and you usually have to pay for this, but it was included. I cannot stress enough to CHECK OUT THE BEACH. It is private and GORGEOUS with crystal blue water. Luckily we wandered down the first day, but so many people did not discover it until shortly before they left. The chairs are plentiful (some with umbrellas or palm huts for shade) and they have someone come down to take drink orders every 15ish minutes. The resort built a break wall, so the water is calm and tranquil. We also have access to the grand beach which is larger but not as nice, and is also much louder due to the kids. The resort also offers a small fenced in nude beach at the end of the grand beach if you are interested in that sort of thing. Overall I highly recommend this resort, and will be returning in the future! Some other side notes......rooms had waterfall shower heads as well as a jaccouzi tub, mini bar with vodka, rum, and red stripe beer, 24 hour room service, nightly entertainment, shuttle service to the grand side, a nightclub and shopping village on the grand side, and butler service. We also did the catamaran snorkel tour with a stop at Dunns River Falls which is HIGHLY recommended. You can book right at the resort.

We enjoyed our stay

We enjoyed our stay at Luxury Bahia Principe. Our room was nice with a beautiful view of the pool & ocean and the food wasn't bad overall. The staff was very pleasant as well. We did have issues with our air conditioner which after 4 phone calls/visits to the front desk with really no resolution other than to check out and be without a room for 6 hours until another room was ready, we just kept our drapes closed & lights off to try to keep the room cooler. Some other things to mention would be that the pool was in need of repair as there were tiles missing and falling off everywhere, the coverlets on the bed were itchy and the noise outside the room echoed due to the tile floors, so anyone talking or slamming doors woke us up. Also we met a really nice couple at the resort that were turned away from eating at one of the formal restaurants because he had on nice twill shorts with a button up shirt and boat shoes but pants were required...they may want to rethink the dress code as we saw men wearing jeans, t-shirts and tennis shoes that looked much less formal than a guy wearing nice pair of twill shorts.

Best vacation

Loved this resort a lot. Choosing the stay on the luxury side had a lot advantages and the premium rum and specialty restaurants were totally worth it. The staff at this resort is unbelievably amazing, they are always so kind and helpful especially the bartenders at the wet bar. The next time I come to Jamaica this will definitely be the place I’ll be staying again

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive, all-fabulous Beach Bliss Fest.

The evening turn down service, bathrobe and slippers in the room & butler service.

Sipping cocktails, living large, on the private beach.

Getting one free hour of kayaking, paddle surfing, snorkeling & catamaraning.

What We'd Change

Parts of the beach are rocky, but if you bring some water shoes, you'll get to walk around and enjoy those parts of the beach, too.

Why You Should Go

It's 75 minutes from Mobay airport. Patience, young jellyfish. You'll be beaching soon.

Bring your water shoes - parts of the beach are a bit pebble-y.

Before your flight home, hit Club Mobay at the airport for A/C, drinks and lots of spoiling.

Bob Marley's home and the famous Dunn's River Falls are nearby and well worth a visit.
