Meh

This place is very average and not worth the money. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It wasn’t really really bad, but it certainly was far from good. The room and resort were clean, which were the two positives for this place. Room comfort was average. Bed was hard as a rock and pillows were way too soft. The only choices for breakfast and lunch were the buffets. Food wasn’t the best. I’d give it a 2 out of 5. Only this place can make French fries and chicken nuggets taste bad. For dinner, there are restaurants on the resort that are OK. However, we were NEVER informed by cheap Carribean or the resort that we needed to book the restaurants a month in advance. When we got there, everything was booked up. We were very disappointed. Besides that, the pool area was nice and the designated beach area was WAY too small. I won’t be back and might not be using cheap carribean again after this vacation.

The most amazing trip!

My husband, a couple friends and I just returned from our trip and we had the time of our lives. The resort was beautiful, the bar service was great and there were lots of meal options for dinner! Breakfast and lunch at the buffets we’re pretty redundant but they had a lot of options! Next time, I will definitely have brushed up on my Spanish, not just for in the resort but for being in the country overall! It just would have made our trip a little smoother! Overall it was an amazing trip!

Best purchase ever

I have been to many resorts in DR and this one was the best all around. Yes, it’s very large but they have electric shuttles everywhere and the ride is quiet to boot! On the beach they rake the seaweed 2x a day. Tiki huts plentiful with lounge chairs. The dining options are abundant as well and the staff is super friendly without expecting a tip. The haggling on the beach was very minimal and under control. Our check in and check out was very quick but they could use more people at times. I’ve neber had. Problem with cheap Caribbean. The resort didn’t have our reservations it was under some other travel company. This was truly frustrating but it all was taken care of the next day. Thank you cheap carribean !! Next, free WiFi all around which is sweet. The free WiFi you have to renew every 24 hrs it’s quick. The mini bar was fully loaded everyday. The wet bar in the pools was nice too. The pools are amazing and all around. Oh, the shows at night in the main theater were so good ! I would definetely come back here again. There’s good energy here it’s not dead. The travel transfer shuttle has WiFi on it too!

Nice resort, would visit again, not quite 5 stars

Overall, we were very pleased with this resort, but it's not quite 5 stars. We went with a group of four to celebrate two birthdays. The resort did a great job with helping us celebrate -- singing at dinner, a birthday cake, balloons and signs on the door, champagne, etc. Our butler (Felix) was very attentive. The room was mostly clean, but not 5-star clean. There were a couple days we didn't get washcloths and one day we didn't get towels. One day the comforter was just balled up and put on the couch? The food in the buffet tasted alright, but it was almost never hot -- just warm. The food in the restaurants was much better and we did reserve dinners for every night. The Asian/Peruvian restaurant was by far our favorite and the BBQ was our least favorite. The pools are awesome. LBPE itself has 2 large pools and the adult "jacuzzi." One of my complaints is that there's not a hot tub anywhere in the entire complex -- not even the spa. We were told there was one in the common area spa, but that it was broken. The drinks were good and the servers were mostly good at getting refills; however, there were a few times we ended up getting our own drinks. Large tip or small (or none at all) didn't seem to make any difference. Juan at the main pool bar did a great job. The beach was great -- close with plenty of shade. There didn't seem to be a ton of chairs but we were always able to get four next to each other. Overall, a great trip and a very nice resort. Not quite 5 stars, but definitely a nice place and we would return.
