I’ve had better...

Wouldn’t consider to be a super picky person but I’ve stayed at resorts before. This resort is mediocre at best. The rooms are nice but our a/C was broke so the room was super hot. They made us stay in the room until the next day @ 4:00. Needless to say didn’t get a good first nights sleep. The resort is a huge resort combined with 3 or 4 other resorts. To say that it’s adults only is misleading. Kids everywhere. Not that I have anything against kids since I have 4 of them but if your going to sell the product as a adults only then I would think I wouldn’t see a kiddie water park as soon as you drive on the property. The food here is terrible. Bottom of the line products are used so do not expect a luxury food experience. Most restaurants are booked weeks in advance so in order to get a reservation you need to prepare way in advance. Who knew? Once you do get the opportunity to eat at the “fine dinning” you will see the same menu items at each of the restaurants. All will serve pretty much the same food with a buffet that serves over cooked food. Again the products used are the lowest quality so if you order a steak be prepared you can hardly cut or chew it. I could go on about terrible the food was but do you really want to hear that? If you do have a problem then you can go to the front desk. There you will be greeted by people that are supposed to care and make things better. They did not. Every time they failed. Their lack of caring if you’re happy really confuses me. Bottom line the drinks were good. Some of the staff (entertainment) was excellent but the management is sub par. I would not recommend this resort or go back.

Best vacation ever

This is one of the most wonderful vacation experience is my family has ever had. Everything is absolutely breathtaking. Definitely a five-star hotel and resort. The buildings and grounds are done to the upmost perfection. Everyone is extremely friendly and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The service is phenomenal as the staff is always bending over backwards for you. pools are beautifully done and are always clean and accessible. You can get a ride throughout the complex so you don’t have to work for. The beaches are clean and there is complementary beverage service while you were on the beach so you never have to leave your seat to get a drink. The food was exceptional whether you went to the buffet or one of the upper class restaurants. We will be Coming back here every year from now on. And the deal we got on cheap Caribbean.com could not be beat. We love this place and no everyone else will too!

Absolutely horrendous experience

First let me preface this review with we have tried to work with the resort for compensation of our ruined vacation. They’ve no desire to make their negligence right with us. If you choose to visit this resort which I obviously highly discourage, please be extremely cautious around the pool area. Bahia Principe has incorrectly chosen a very slick ceramic glazed tile to place around the pool area which obviously stays wet. I’ve several videos of guests slipping and falling around the pool area. Our travel companion slipped, fell, and broke her arm on the third day of our 6 night trip. The resort refused to accept any responsibility. Our friend’s were forced to pay over $3000 to have the bone merely reset and wrapped. She wasn’t even supplied a sling. Since being home in the United States she’s been out close to $60,000 in surgery’s to add a metal plate to her wrist. We’ve tried repeatedly to at least get a credit or partial credit to redo our ruined trip. This resort refuses to even lean towards a reduction in fare for a repeat trip. Which is for the best because I wouldn’t dare go back to this place. Details of the resort... There is chipped and unpainted surfaces all over the resort. It looks really cheap and unkept. Most resorts in Mexico are pristine and kept very nice. They pay their employees like $5 per day, it would seem that they could pay a guy to sling some paint on some things. The roofs of the hotel rooms have shingles missing. It looks exactly like the third world country that it is. The weakly mixed all-inclusive drinks that are served are given to you in very small 8oz cheap plastic throw away cups, so you’re constantly trying to find a waiter or most likely making a trip back to the bar every 5 minutes. Most of the servers are very polite, especially if you’re a generous tipper. There is only 1 type of beer, hope you’re not picky because it’s not even the good beer of the Dominican. The rooms are ok, there is very slick tile in the restrooms and some kind of weird window that has curtains that open on the room side which allows you to watch people in the restroom or shower. Kinda creepy! Kinda cool for the husband though! The mini-fridge is stocked daily. If you make requests for certain items they will provide extra for you. There are only 3 types of alcohol mini bottles in the fridge which kind of sucks, but whatever. If you’re a Coke or Dr. Pepper person, you better get it somewhere else because they only provide Pepsi products! The bed is extremely worn out! The mattress was as hard as the Floor! At one point the frame broke and instead of sending a maintenance person to repair it the housekeeper was expected to fix it. I and my traveling friend had to help her because she could not lift the mattress off of the frame. The view from the room was of a worker staging area. After complaining so much already, I grew complacent and didn’t complain about the view. It was obviously not a priority that we were happy or accommodated. While we were there the beach was just as horrible! During our stay there was an over abundance of seaweed on the beach and in the water. I understand that this is a natural occurrence but it just made our experience that much worse! We went to the beach once! The beach was the only reason we were at this location! Extremely disappointed and unsatisfied about the seaweed issue. All in all, please do not make the mistake that I did and avoid this place like the plague! If you want to stay in Punta Cana choose Iberostar instead.

Excellent Resort

This resort doesn’t disappoint! This is our second trip and it is amazing. The staff is abundantly friendly and willing to help out in any way. The rooms are spacious. The bed this time was very hard though. One thing to nod some research on is the “seaweed” season. We went June 21-27, 2018 and the ocean was full of seaweed. Mounds on the beaches which was a bit of a bummer. Of course the resort did their best to stay on top of it but can’t do much about Mother Nature. So we hung out at the beautiful pools. The food is abundant and there are many restaurants you can make reservations at but do it early as they fill up quick. There isn’t much in the way of night life if that is your thing but we turn in early so we love it. They are remodeling the adults only section and we are excited about that. They also added a really great kids section “Fantasia” for those with littles. Golf carts take you all around the resort. Again it is an amazing place!
